I'm buzzing for this game... For the first time in forever I'm looking forward to it and quietly confident of a home win.
OK... I met my Kiwi cousin for the first time tonight and he has arranged his whole UK trip around making sure he could attend the match!
His Dad, my Uncle Tom was a Saints fan and at the 59 cup final! His Son has the bug... Poor bugger.
Mega Kudos to departing chief exec Brian Caldwell for arranging a quick tour of the stadium before the action starts. Will be a surprise for my cousin... But he is so buzzing for the actual game I can't wait to see his reaction.

Aye... The stage is set for our first home win of the season.

He came to Saints in one of our lowest periods for many a year.

Had the opportunity to view both over the last couple of months.
The main stand north end would be as well shut for the amount in it. The south end is busier partly because of the corporate (usually twice as fat as well so look like more people!)
With the middle being the only part which seems to be putting enough bums on seats.
The west stand seems to be even spread W1 to 5 most weeks & i`d say the numbers would be broadly similar to the main.
Why don`t the board offer the North of the main stand to the visiting support ? This would make far more sense, nearer St.James station & the away Buses and as a certain %age of the main stand have access to separate corporate facilities , press ,board & visitors also have their own facilities , this would mean when the facilities are halved it would have less effect on the home fans.

Thistle have already sold over 1700 tickets for tonight, which is their highest visiting support ever to the new stadium, so it looks like they are quite up for a Friday night game with discounted tickets even though you could argue they are more inconvenienced that the majority of our fans will be.

Tickets went on sale in the middle of December. I fail to believe that someone who can roll up tonight to the game couldn't have picked up the phone anytime since 16th December to book a discounted ticket. That's nonsense.

Hard on one hand to criticise ticket pricing then on the other lambast the club for having poor players.
Proven quality costs money that we simply don't have, albeit the last two managers squandered what we did have which has left the squad poorer than it should be.
On general ticketing I paid £291 for my season ticket this season, and the boy got his for £0.
So £291 covers 18 home games plus 1 cup game. 19 matches, works out at £15 a match for a father and son to get in. I personally think that is outstanding value for money.
Unfortunately we can't guarantee the team is going to win every week. That is part and parcel of sport. You take your chances going into any game that it will turn out to be a lot of pish.
I think the club is pretty much damned if they do, damned if they don't sometimes. Never going to please everyone.

Shull you can talk my friend you went into melt down at the weekend again. I stand by my comment I don't care about our young players at present as they won't pull us up the table. I'm all for youth development and giving them a chance however, it's fair to say that at present we have no youths capable of winning games in a team that looks very likely to be involved in a relegation fight again.
