Doesn't matter about the perception of what it is by some. It's european footy and quite possibly for us! Shouldn't be any better motivation for our players to push on and get that 5th spot imo. Roll on saturday👍

    This.
He clearly got there first. The County player has poked his foot at it but it's impossible to tell from the one angle the have from behind play how much contact his hip has into Quaner's side as he stretched to win the ball first.
It is soft but most likely there's enough of a shunt while his weight was shifting across to throw him off balance.

There was an even more obvious stonewaller of a penalty in the 69th minute when a defender wipes out McPherson as a cross comes in. No attempt to get the ball!

Was out yesterday so only just got round to watching the whole game off Alba.
Unless I missed it, I can’t believe no one mentioned the nailed on penalty on Shaughnessy in the first half. Absolute stonewaller.
I definitely feel less lucky about the soft penalty we did get having seen that.

I agree with this. I read a lot of the comments on here before seeing the incident. I was expecting to see a Michael Owen effort from Quaner but it was far from that. If that happened outside the box, it is a free kick and no-one bats an eyelid. Inside the box it's a "soft' penalty that could have gone either way. Definitely not a dive though.

I think he has a leg to stand on!

I still don't think it was a dive. How can anyone prove that beyond doubt when even the pundits admitted there was contact?

Your a grade 1 cock so anything you say is ignored. Naismith is nowhere near the level of Fraser.

There appears to be not a single player in Goodwins squad you rate and every team worse than us is full of players better than ours. How can we be where we are in this scenario ?

I can’t believe some of the comments on here. I mean folk saying they’d take county’s right back over ours and we’re not sixth on merit. Look we were not great and haven’t been for past three weeks but we’d have lost these games in the last. The mentality is changing and the back line are driving it - well done to them and Marcus Fraser should be offered a new improved deal ASAP. Outstanding of late particularly at Aberdeen . I wouldn’t want Watson, Naismith or Andreu back - we’ve got better and we are A better Team than them . Well done saints today a close nervy game but you dug in there and got a vital win . COYS

Is this a joke ?? Fraser has been absolutely outstanding. No harm to Jason but he’s not in the same league I’m afraid .

I wonder if Hughes will be pulled up.for saying Quaner "dived"?

I can understand him being miffed.

County put so much into that second half and could have taken a point on.another day, which would not have been undeserved.

BUT... we fought all the way and ground out the win. Players were out on their feet but still throwing their bodies in front of the ball.

    Penalty? Not sure.

    Dive? Absolutely not.
    Out of order John.

On a slightly different note, I am very disappointed with the manager’s comments in relation to the penalty and about Quaner. He has called his own player a possible cheat and, whether he thinks it or not, should not berate his own player in public.
this is more about his own previous comments about other teams and to save his own face he calls out his own player!! The lad didn’t dive as there was, in my view, clumsy contact.

I don't think it's unfair to say that on all evidence this season, Kristian Dennis is our most effective striker (granted we've not seen a fully fit Brophy yet).
A lot was made of Doyle-Hayes, McGrath, etc being injured - to me we have missed Dennis the most and our form suffered almost as soon as we lost him.
A win is a win, we done everything but score for most of the game and we'd have likely lost that last year.
    Onwards

Defender got on the wrong side of Quaner - it has consequences and if it wins us 3 points that will do for me

Jim Goodwin seems to be the only manager who rests his players in form.
Both Flynn and Connolly have looked really sharp yet have to sit and watch Lee Erwin put in a performance like that. Unless they've knocks that must be discouraging to watch thinking your boss consider that a better option than you.

Opposition players are paid very handsomely to compensate for the (still unwarranted) abuse and comments they receieve.
General employees of our club are not - totally below the belt

Erwin for Connolly should have happened 10/15 before it did.
We needed someone with pace to patch in to knock ons... instead we had Erwin taking a touch and losing the ball. Once even losing it final 3rd on the attack and almost resulting in a goal conceded. Baffling.

Slagging off a Hamilton Accies player who likes like he's a regular at the Sheriff Court is fair game, slagging off one of our female stewards is not.

Bitterly disappointed in how we performed last 30 minutes. Nice open game, plenty of chances & lots going forward, then we completely fell apart.
Hate to say it because he does put the effort in but Lee Erwin is done, he’s just nowhere near this level of a footballer. It actually reminds me a bit of Shane Duffy & why he keeps getting minutes on the park for Celtic.

Flynn and probably Connolly should have been on as soon as we scored as Obika, McAllister and Erwin were constantly losing the ball. None of them seem to like a one touch pass choosing instead to run into trouble. We threw that away.

Very poor after we scored. Some shocking midfield play and horrible passing right up to their equaliser.

    Yep.  Would agree.

Our game plan is always just to keep the game so tight and nick a goal and then sit.  It’s same for many teams in the league to be fair and margins are narrow.

Very frustrating when Goodwin himself recognised he’d made this mistake last season and vowed to have changed.  Not really been any evidence of such.

He seems to have signed an array of attacking players and has no cohesive approach to play and get the ball into creative, danger areas.

Can’t quite remember all 6 games but presumably include:
    - Rangers - a penalty out of the blue
    - Aberdeen - a penalty
    - Motherwell - another penalty when struggling to show any real threat
    - St. Johnstone - a good comeback win, albeit against 10 men
    - QoS - we were rank rotten against lower league opposition. Don’t think we should be taking much credit for scraping a draw

Softness is maybe the wrong word but we don’t know how to attack effectively or chase a game. The nature of those games that we have managed comebacks, considered alongside the many other games where we haven’t shows the problem.
