I'm jumping straight in at the deep end after reading the first/second line of OP.
The sale of the club has, IMO, been the priority of the current board for at least the last two seasons. The club has had no direction or investment because the current board want out, they've done a sterling job but enough is enough.
Unfortunately, there's nobody wanting to take on a lower top/ 1st division club. And who could blame them? It's not like the over inflated EPL where money keeps these clubs viable..... God help them if it goes tit's up.
We're probably going down and i can't help but think the current board, that saved us from extinction, are culpable.

I can't disagree with that, but is it enough to repel the wave of apathy that I feel engulfing me?
It becomes wearisome having to order in the Pampers and hoping that your sphincter doesn't rupture each and every year. I'm becoming a bit inured to it now, and unless I experience something resembling genuine passion on the pitch, then it is hard to muster up the same level of enthusiasm that I once had.
Last year was an honourable exception on account of the cup campaign and ultimate glory, but normal service has now resumed, and it feels like bloody hard work. I'll no doubt roll up on Saturday and beyond, but it feels more about some bizarre sense of obligation than anything else.
I applaud the rallying call, but I expect a bit of reciprocity from the club, manager, and players. Only they can deliver when all is said and done, and they need to step up to the plate, first and foremost. Perhaps if they do, then we'll have something positive to shout about.

I'm sure the clubs board of directors and the various football authorities in the coming seasons, while attendances diminish will say. . . oh well these things happen
and they will genuinely have no clue as to why and not see the connection

I get your point and there are no facts to back up my comments, I just think it is yet another case of the clubs not giving a toss about the fans
this is just one instance but with this happening two or three times a season, how many people do you think would say . . great another late change I love how they do this it really makes me want to go to games, as opposed to the number of people who say phuk it I'm fed up with this and eventually just drift away from the game
When you add the numerous reasons for anyone not going to football I just don't think this helps
The game could easily have been changed when the midweek fixture was originally announced

shocking picture that sums up the total lack of passion at our club from top to bottom, it's similar to a tony Mowbray photo we've all laughed at,
FFS Saints get your finger out, everyone ! Not just the manager but the players and the board who seem comfortable with this pish while their main interest is on bailing out and recouping their cash (which is fair enough) but this is phukin killing our club
    DO SOMETHING. . . ANYTHING
I'd even settle for being able to take phukin throw ins or somethin really radical like markin the opposition when they have a throw in
    pathetic !

No one is "expecting" you or anyone else for that matter to turn up and watch. It's a personal choice. As for today I have seen way better Saints teams being thrashed by far poorer Celtic teams down the years. Our season will never be gauged on results at Parkhead where any sort of a result should be seen as a bonus. We are what we are and we are where we are so you either accept that and pay to support the club (the club will always be way more important than it's current employees) or you choose not to. I'm personally not happy the way the season is panning out and I'm pretty sure DL will be gone come the summer now come what may (rightly so) but in the meantime I will be urging the team on as we need to avoid relegation either by finishing 10th or better or via a play off. I hope everyone gets behind the team as that will help but ultimately there is no obligation. For the teams sake we need unity in the run in not more bickering and moaning about a situation which lets face it we have absolutely no control over.

I think it's more of, they havn't got any funds to release
as each transfer window opens and closes signings from the previous window, that we're deemed reasonable at the time are released to be replaced by lesser names, dare I say it lower standing in the game, in other words cheaper options, although the cheaper options from the youth development have been a success.
Is the club looking at hearts squad and thinking that with such little money and a volunteer coach they are picking up just several points less than us ?
while as a club we seem to be penny pinching at every opportunity and without checking the figures I get the impression attendances are slipping
while the lack of investment due to reasons well documented, the alternatives, fans council raffles etc, aren't providing the income required to sustain the squad assembled at the start of the season
I think the player choices being made during the past 3 transfer windows are due to rapidly decreasing budget reassessments

you're absolutely right I didn't mention that, that and every other thing that SMiSA has done where every individuals interpretation or opinion can have a negative aspect particularly where the current shareholding of the club is concernedI've been reading over on the match day thread v hearts how much a state the club is in through root causes such as, the boards inactions, the stale environment due to the consortium, resulting in a lack of investment, affecting quality of players etc etc
So the option is, using the dome loan example, to.....
    a) NOT loan the cash, preventing a major asset for the team, reducing commercial opportunities and eliminating the facility used every day by the local community, continuing along the lines of reducing the worth of the club therefore not propping up the value of the selling price for the consortium. Basically stand by and watch the club be run down so that 'someone' can then buy it for a lot less than the £ 2 million ish currently being chased
    Or
b ) provide the loan, allowing all the above points to be realised, facility for the team, commercial opportunity, community involvement etc etc. and yes, i agree it does help to keep the selling price of the consortiums share price at a higher level than the option above but surely option 'b' is the lesser of the two evils
I totally get where you're coming from and I'm not happy with the stalemate the club finds itself in, but would we all really be comfortable if everyone stopped investing in the club, eg the aforementioned loan, fans council raffles, season tickets, going to games, buying strips etc in an effort to encourage a quick exit by the consortium. It might work but whoever was to buy the consortiums shares at a lower price, might then have a club on their hands where everyone has lost any interest in investing in the club
I personally don't think it's worth the gamble

I'd be more than happy to make a monthly contribution to a co-operative that's purpose was to fund share purchase. I don't think a one-off purchase of a controlling interest is likely to happen now, but there must be some scope for smaller purchases over a period of time - though I understand SMISA have had some difficulty in that respect. I've never got the impression that SMISA were particularly interested in having full control over the club, and I remember reading an article in the Black & White magazine to that effect, but having a fans organisation with any kind of significant shareholding could only be a good thing IMO.
