Its amazing the difference a few players make to a team - for me the loss of Goncalves, Newton and Dummett has weakened us significantly. The signing of these three guys in my opinion was key to us winning the League Cup.
They have gone and the players who replaced them are not as good and it also seems that we have taken a flyer on the key position of goalkeeper.
If is frustrating that we never seem to build on success - this is a season where we should be pushing on but the early signs are ominous and unless we get some quality in we are really going to struggle

We haven't signed better players than we have released though and you have to say what was the point in releasing them then?
ETA- McLean on his way back will help McGowan move back to playing just off Thommo.

The forum has been fantastic this week. Everyone oozing with excitement, positivity and togetherness.
It's been absolutely superb.
We can't get to a cup final every week, or even every season, and of course we have no divine right to win the cup on Sunday either, but it would be great if the place retained a wee bit of this unity after the final whistle has blown, whatever the result.
We are stronger when we are all together supporting our fantastic football club.

On a different note i hear the naming rights for ipox is moving ahead with the announcement held up whilst sports direct finalised the purchase of Republic clothing chain.
Could this mean given Charlie Green's assurances that ipox will remain in the name that; newco will be playing at the "Ibrox Republic Arena" next season?
