To be honest I wouldn't trust this BOD with the task off finding another manager.

Not even November and even fourth place is beyond us.
    Just not good enough.
    Not even close.

Have to wonder why McLear isn't making the bench... Yet McGraith is.
Hard to see any justification for that really.

    The difference.
He is our best player. He isn't on a senior player contract just now, but he should be. The club should be contacting his agent on Monday and making him an offer which equates his wage packet with the football clubs top earners.
If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have won today, no danger. He is that bit of quality that gets you 3 points in games like that. Not just today, not just last week, but last season too. The kid is a proven performer at top flight level. 9 goals in 35 games from midfield? What an outstanding return, 5 already this season. That would be superb for an established senior attacking midfielder.... for a kid it's...
He's the best teenager I've ever seen play for St Mirren. I hope we maximise profit when he - inevitably - moves on.
    Oh, wee Stevie Mallan!

Great to see us win ugly. Good 3 points considering the run of fixtures coming up.

I don't imagine this game would be very appealing to non season ticket holding Saints fans. It's on the telly, it's early on a Sunday and it's against the scum of the earth.
If I didn't have a season ticket I certainly wouldn't be going. Therefore I'm all for maximising profit for the club for this game.

Been to a few gigs recently. Will Hoge, Wolf Alice, then Lifehouse, all at the O2 ABC, and all brilliant. The only tickets I have now are for U2 at the Hydro. Looking forward to that, because I've been a fan of theirs even before their debut album came out, and first saw them in Strathclyde University Student Union with a ticket price of £2.75....
Cue forumster comment.... 'U2? £2.75? You were done'.
Heh, heh. Bono's a knob, but I still love them.

Baird has a lot of maturing to do.
He was megged by their player, wasn't happy, and hauled him down. This resulted in a needless free kick that led to the goal.
There is raw talent in there, but he needs a fair bit of guidance.

Just in after a long trek with my two kids on toe again. We will be taking a break from coming through now. Keep thinking, this week will be the turning point, the platform to build our season on.
Today has made my mind up. Murray hasn't got it. It seems the players have no faith or belief in him. He is lost and has no direction or game plan.
Goodwin, yet again and Gallagher were looking to take responsibility and make things happen. Shankland got his goal I suppose. Mallan was busy, but couldn't hit the target with any of his free kicks. The rest didn't do much or were poor. Unfortunately, Thommo does not look like a leader to me. McMullan is our best player, so we need him back quick.
Dark times ahead. Dunfermline will be rubbing their hands and Murray will be climbing further back into his shell. This is pish!!!!

    I really couldn`t give a f**k .
I`ll be in Lanzarote ,as far away from a tv/radio/computer as possible. As i`ve said on FB , the current general malaise around St.Mirren at the moment has knocked the stuffing out of me.
From a Bored Board , to an incompetent management team , the whole thing is increasingly becoming a non event.

I'm simply no longer confident that we avoid the play-off position at the wrong end of the league. Another average team comes to Paisley and bullies our wee boys.
Not a glimmer of a positive to be found in yet another shambolic 90 mins.

Referee was shocking, but he didn't throw the game away, Saints did.
Why we are inviting teams onto us and giving them acres of space is absolutely beyond me. How f**king hard is it to press teams and close them down.

If we do sign a free agent then someone like Draper at ICT would be the type of player we could most benefit from in the midfield. Big strong physical guy who can dominate this area and bully the opposition.

The funniest thing about the influx of Morton trolls is that they will be utterly be gone if they lose tomorrow.
Just like they've been gone for the last 15 years. A truly pathetic football club in every measure, if I was a Morton fan, I'd be jealous of St Mirren too.

Think too many are being quick to write Thommo off on the basis of last night's game. He has been a key player for us in recent years but appreciate that doesn't mean he is above criticism ....... bottom line is last night he was absolutely honking and it has proved that he can't play that lone striker role anymore.
Reckon he could form a decent partnership with Gallagher or Shankland if we can get him. As has been stated already he is 37 and realistically we can't expect a full season out of him. Still can't get my head round why we signed Gow and to be perfectly honest I am a bit concerned where the goals are going to come from this season.
Let's at least give Thommo a chance to turn it round .... he deserves that.

So let me get this straight. We've signed a young lad who clearly has an eye for goal, is fast, is good in the air, seems to enjoy putting pressure on keepers at corners and loves being in and around the six yard box to get on the end of half-chances.
Is this St. Mirren we're talking about?!

I genuinely wish John McGinn all the very best for his future career. I have no ill feelings towards him and am disappointed to read that one of the most talented young footballers to play for us in the last few years has had such a fall from grace in the supporters eyes.
I am very confident that McGinn was the lowest paid player by some distance to play in the semi final and final of league cup 2013. He was a standout in both games and for many games over a 2 year period. John lost his way last season as did everyone at the club from top to bottom bar maybe Mclean for a 6 week period before his big move. He would have been on a much lower wage than many in his time at the club ie Mair and Wylde who did nothing to help our cause and raked in very handsome wages.
Mcginn was always going to move on but the suing of the club was a strange one as I don't imagine he would really ever get that much money and was always going to leave a bad taste in the mouth for many people. It was done by agent to force a move away from St Mirren.
John is a good guy having met him a few times over the years and will always be held in high regard by me for what he gave us in the semi final and final. I think Aberdeen should have taken a wee punt on him for £100k because he is a very talented player and I think will do ok longterm.
Good luck John but think if you remain at Hibs for the next few years you will be playing championship football. I think we will be back in topflight football before hibs.:-)

Good luck to John. He had one and a half really good seasons and one really bad, who knows how he will turn out. Wouldn't surprise me if ended up playing at a decent level in England, also wouldn't surprise me if he ends up kicking around the Scottish game for the rest of his career.
In 12/13 he broke into the team and immediately looked very impressive, his performances in the semi final win over Celtic and final win over Hearts were particularly memorable. In 13/14 he rightly swept up at our POTY awards and his stock was high.
In 14/15 he was meant to kick on and become a real lynchpin of the team as an established, relatively experienced senior player.
He started pretty much every game in his favoured position of centre mid and did pretty much nothing all season. No goals, no assists, nothing at all really, he was pretty anonymous all season. He was a real let down and when we needed our big players to stand up before the split against County and Motherwell he hid and looked like he wasn't interested.
Anyway, wish him all the best. As with the other ten players who started the cup final, he will remain a Saints legend.
I also think the compensation system is a bit of a joke and this shows it up really. Personally I would do away with it and have freedom of movement for all out of contract players.
