What baffles me is why are still talking about McGowan leaving....or Harkins.

Looks like Ellis is capable of playing CH after all.
    Rarely lost a header yesterday.
Saw a 'Well player bouncing off him , as he challenged Plummer for a ball yesterday.
Strong and composed on the ball, made some good runs and made a couple of excellent passes too. Looks like a classy player.
Hopefully, he'll continue to prosper in the stripes!

I did nt hear it I was making my way home from the game. It is a strange place to have that discussion mind you.
On a separate note I think it was inevitable that Goodwin was going to get his marching orders, perhaps a tactical substitution would have helped.

I'm very sad to announce that my time at St. Mirren has come to an end.
The 9 years I've spent at the club have, without doubt, been the most enjoyable of my career. I'm extremely proud to have played for St. Mirren and, of course, to leave with 3 winners medals which I will treasure for the rest of my life.
The club has given my family and I the most amazing memories and I've made some of my best friends in football there.
I'd like to thank everyone involved with the club, from the board to the fans, for their support throughout the years and I'd like to wish Tommy, Jim & Gary all the best for the future.
Finally, I'd like to thank my past and current team mates. It has been a pleasure to have shared a dressing room with these guys and they have played a huge part in my memories at the club.

With our future in the top division now confirmed I would expect (if any/all of the rumours are true) that we could see a number of important developments in the very near future.
Is St Mirren on the verge of being sold ?
Will we see Swiss Tony and his fellow Toblerone-chompers put pen to paper and seal the deal ? Or is there someone else lurking in the background with money to burn ?
Will it still be DL in the manager's office or is someone else already lined up ?
What about players who will leaving the club ? Who is getting shown the door, who will be offered new contracts ? Who is deciding on new players for next season ? Will we see Harkins back in Paisley or could he stay at Oldham ?
Exciting times, but please get things moving ASAP to get a stable structure in place long before next season's kick-off.

I agree don't sidetrack him just now with managerial duties, he's scored 16 goals this season, we need him fully focused on playing! His style and the fact he doesn't rely on pace means he could be scoring goals in the SPFL for 2 or 3 more years. His time will come in management and I've no doubt it will be with us. He is mr st mirren after all!

Without any doubt saints must sign up teale. He is a very fit player who has had a bad season with injury. He is a very good creative player who can definitely play on. Make no mistake that should he go we will be losing him to another top level club in Scotland

Football is riddled with eejits, not just right now, but historically too. Seems to me the amount of tolerance shown to them is usually directly proportional to the talent they possess.
With regard to current-day examples, Balotelli is a madman, yet Mancini took him to Man City despite having witnessed the craziness when they were both previously at Inter. Now the same maniac has found a place at AC Milan.
Joey Barton has a reputation, both on and off the field that makes Riorden seem like a saint and his history of bad-boy antics goes back a long way, yet Harry Redknapp brings him back from Marseille and insists on playing him, even though Barton sowre he would never play in the Championship.
Others, including Suarez, Bellamy, Goodwillie and Ferguson, (which Ferguson? You choose), are only a few of the many available examples that show what will be tolerated where there is talent to consider.
Now maybe Riorden isn't in the same league (talent-wise) as the aforementioned eejits, but then again, the Saints ain't in the same league (figuratively speaking) as AC Milan, Man City, Liverpool and etc. For that reason, I'd go with the earlier suggestion of giving him 6 months to prove he's worth a chance.
As for who we would drop? Nobody. He would be back up for when needed, unless we decide to go with two main strikers in some games. If it works out, he could be the man to replace Thommo when he can no longer give us 40+ games per season.

Well he's miles better than Bahoken and let's be honest a few of our players have struggled with form until recently. He would be a very good option.
But on reflection you are probably right let's just stick with one decent striker all season!!!

His reputation precedes him no doubt about that, perhaps he decided he needs to get his act together.
At the moment I would nt drop any of the team but McGowan has issues elsewhere to deal with which may affect his form in the near future. Stevie Thompson has done well in fact better than well, but would it do any harm to have a decent back up, in case of injury or loss of form??

I just think his wage demands would be low and I know it's a gamble with his attitude not to mention his fitness but he is the 3rd top scorer in the SPL who is early 30's with something to prove.
If nothing else it would make nights out in Viennas way more exciting lol

That's Derek Riordan being touted as going to either Dunfermline or Alloa, surely to god we should be offering him a 6 month deal we are not blessed with natural finishers, look what Boyd has done for killie.
    It's a no brainer IMO

I don't believe this is the case but you do have to ask the question, if everyone connected with St Mirren has had all the monies repaid to them which they initially invested, then if the owner was the key factor why would the current not sell the club for a nominal fee rather than trying to make money out of selling the club?

The planning restrictions are mental, wooden windows a choice of three colours red, blue and green along with 90m of tree felling on Grahamston Rd to give better viewing at the point of access. Is that enough to put people off
