Rothesay Saint got a reaction from BuddieinEK in Danny Lennon
I'd like to wish Danny Lennon good luck, but Alloa may be one of our main relegation rivals next season. Hopefully all his signings are Djemba Djembas.

I would have voted Green, being a member, but we aren't standing a candidate in this constituency.

Rothesay Saint reacted to div in Looking On The Bright Side
I'm generally a very positive person, and try very hard to be positive about the football club at all times, but being realistic now the automatic relegation spot looks increasingly likely to be our fate. So let's look ahead to what life in the Championship will be like and look for some positives there.
Firstly we can hope that Morton manage to get promoted. 4 proper derby games a season would at least give us something to look forward to.
Two of Hibs, Rangers and probably Motherwell are going to be down there with us too. That's going to be another 8 big matches to look forward to against the same level of opponents that we currently play in the top flight.
The Championship has less f**king about with kick off times than the top flight does. More of our games will be at 3pm on a Saturday.
We won't have to endure those god awful strips again next season.
We might actually start enjoying games again, and score some goals !
We will have a better chance of seeing the club being sold on to local St.Mirren people given that the asking price is sure to drop post relegation
Our gates will almost certainly increase in the Championship given larger away supports, less TV coverage and the team being in with a realistic chance of being involved in the chase for the title or at the very least the end of season playoffs.
There are a lot of negatives too of course, but there are still some silver linings to relegation, it's not the cliff face it once was.

An Austin Allegro would have made a more efficient and reliable manager than Tommy Craig.

Rothesay Saint reacted to Kemp in 1926 Scottish Cup Final
Hi Andrew,
This is an unofficial supporters forum, although someone may be able to help. However, you should contact the club via the official website; www.saintmirren.net
I believe your great grandfather was in the team the last time we won a home match, so hopefully someone can help you out!

Rothesay Saint reacted to Kendo in We Are Unfortunately A Joke Club
We are not a joke we are a team going through a difficult period and our current standing puts us as the tenth best team in Scotland. If we are a joke what does this mean to every other club in Scotland apart from the 9 above us?
People need to get a grip of reality.

I never realised the BoD at St Mirren made mistakes. I think the OP should be congratulated for bringing this to our attention.

Rothesay Saint reacted to Bud the Baker in Secret Buyers/new Owners - Threads Merged
Yeah I understand and sympathize - my view (as I said) is that were we to be relegated nothing could be guaranteed beyond the first season if we didn't bounce straight back up.
As to your other points - what do I want for the club, obviously a smooth transfer to new owners who will have more energy to devote to the clubs future. Again, obviously, I realize there are risks in this as new owners might gamble unwisely but thems the breaks. As for fan ownership I fear that boat has sailed for us - I was as excited as anyone as the number of fan pledges to 10000hours topped the thousand mark over that weekend but in the end the BoD felt that there were too many flaws in their overall bid, a view I shared although maybe not for the same reasons.
A big thanks will be due to Gilmour & his compadres if & when they do go - their tenure has not been faultless (over sixteen years I doubt that's even possible) but it's been pretty successful and I won't grudge them getting some (I doubt they'll get the lot) of their money back.

All the best mate.
