I know a few of the boys who brighten up the W7, and they have brought atmosphere to a stadium that was severely lacking and for that I am grateful. I also know they aren't a violent or intimidating bunch. They are a bunch of young lads who love their club. To say they get outsung by 20 livvy fans is embarrassing. Us older ones can remember the 70s and 80s when the grounds were a lot more violent with the casuals, hell even the Raith Rovers quarter final in 1987 was a bottlefest. The players love the noise and displays they do. They are a credit.

Left back and striker for me now. With us having till October there may not be such a rush to get someone in to fill these roles.

I'm sure Dummett and Newton hadn't played too much when we signed them. There's risk with all new signings

Whatever fans think. I love Tony's enthusiasm. If he said nothing he would get a hard time. Can't win situation. Tony loves the club we all know that. I've had my fall outs with Tony and Gordon but the one I respect I know both love the club. In that respect I think St.Mirren are lucky that we have guys in charge who are fans. Coys

Not really, the pies are dear as f**k and not that good.

The Wee Bakers in Govan does a michty guid pie and its only about 50p or so, I cannae remember the price but its as cheap as something that costs 50p.

I miss nothing about the pie stall.  It has the most inefficient system of operation I could imagine.
You stand in a queue about 4/5 deep, you wonder why a queue exists at all as the ground is not that busy and a wheen of staff are on duty behind the counter.  Eventually you get to the front.  The lassie with the black fleece and red hat on takes your order.  She then walks to the back of the stall where she asks another lassie in a black fleece and red hat for whatever item you asked for (if your item is not available or she forgets what you asked for this journey is repeated),   The lassie with the red hat and black fleece on passes your hot item to the other lassie with the red hat and black fleece on who walks accross the stall and places the item in front of you.  The lassie with the black fleece and red hat on then walks to the drinks machine where she asks another lassie with a black fleece and red hat to pour your drink (this part of the journey is often repeated your beveridge is unavailable or has been forgotten).  The lassie with the black fleece and red hat on then hands your beveridge to the other lassie with the black fleece and red hat on, who then crosses the stall to place your beveridge in front of you.  The lassie with the black fleece and red hat on then quotes a ridiculously high price that you are then obliged to pay.  You hand your £10 note to the lassie with the black fleece and red hat on who once again crosses the stall but this time approaches the till, where, inevitably a queue of lassies in black fleece and red hats has formed.  Your lassie with the black fleece and red hat on eventually gets to the till where your overpriced order is processed monetarily.  The lassie with the black fleece and red hat on the crosses the stall AGAIN to bring you your small and now insignificant amount of change.  You turn round to see that quite the queue has formed behind you and you wonder why in the name of f**k  anyone would allow a business to run so inefficiently.  At this juncture you walk to the steel pole type shelves that dont really hold anything and are a bit pointless where you skillfully balance your drink in order that you can free your hands up to use the mustard/sauce dispensers.  You then skillfully retrieve your expensive and weak beveridge from the precarious position you left it on the steel pole shelves and make your way toward the seating area, where, unless we are playing Hearts, you are likely to be dissapointed.

No I do not miss the pie stall at all, do not miss it at all indeed.

When was the last time you were REALLY impressed during a transfer window?

For me it was when we signed Gary Teale.  I recall receiving a thing called a text message on my mobile telephone from a fellow Buddie.  Now as a rule I do not tend to receive many text messages so I was surprised when my phone did this "beep beep" sound along with a little shoogle.  So I removed my mobile telephone from my lower right jerkin pocket and read the happy, happy news that a player of real quality and standing within the game had signed for my beloved team. I also had a similar, although less surprised moment, when Thommo of the hawk signed for us.  Anyway I recall the real deep felt joy that day when I learned that my wee club had signed Gary Teale.

Now, we have to be honest.  Some will slap the happy tambourine whenever we sign a new player and proclaim things like "great piece of business", but the fact is that the overwhelming majority of signings our club make our largely unheard of by the common Buddie prior to the news of the "great signing" appearing on the twitters.  Richard Tait was a name I vaguely recognised as was Jak Alnwick.  Guys like McGrath, Morias, Obika and Sheron  could well turn out to be more super that a can of strong Tennant's (Obika already has) but you don't get that child like excitement when learning the news that a sought after Scottish internationally recognised footballing craftsmen has chosen your club over the rest.

What a signing Gary Teale turned out to be.  The sight of Thommo laying the ball off, Teale picking it up and cutting in from the right as he bore down on a certain (now championship) teams goalkeep, the excitement building as the Teale meister shyed away from personal glory but unselfishly squared the ball to yon Esmael Goncalves and the relief/joy/hope as the ball caused a bulbous swell in the back off the net to bring us of the canvas and right back into a cup final.  A cup final that we would go onto win, due in no small measure to the quality of the Gary Teale (and his team mates).  I could of course expand and discuss the Teale meister's huge contribution in the semi final win over the Sellick, I could but I won't as I feel the point has been made, the point has been made indeed.
