st jock got a reaction from Eaglesham saint in St Mirren V Hibs 20/8/16
Today was yet another day of dissapointment as a saints fan. As someone mentioned earlier, last season we had a bit of a bounce when Rae became manager, mainly due to Quinn and Mallan in midfield. This season we have Quinn out at the moment and Mallan exposed. Naismith had a terrible game today, as did all our back four, I've been informed that the fullbacks have been told not to pass the halfway line, but surely thats bullshit. Thats part of Jasons strengths. I'm already sick of Rae coming out in the media moaning about the players but then going with the exact same plan for the next game. I'm aware that we have changed manager a bit too much over the past few seasons and I think Rae has earned a chance to rectify what is going on. but I feel that he needs to get results as soon as possible. This is his team.

st jock reacted to Sonny in Formation and tactics.
I wasn't at Livingston but have been at all other games.
In all these games we started with a 4-4-2 formation. We played with two wingers who sat on the touchline at the halfway line waiting for the ball leaving two players in midfield. In every game the keeper and the back four played the ball out via an up-and-under hoof up the park to two strikers who had their back to goal and stood next to each other. In all these games the two fullbacks hardly crossed the half-way line. There was little running off the ball and little playing the ball on the deck. The only victory was at home to Edinburgh City who are currently sitting bottom of Division two.
Now if that formation and tactics has been played for eight consecutive games then I reckon I could assume that these are the tactics and formation that the manager has laid down otherwise I would assume that players that are not obeying instructions would be dropped.
IT AIN'T WORKING MR RAE.
The players look scared to me to either take responsibility or do something different from the straitjacket formation they are being asked to execute. There is no leadership nor confidence and the players look as pissed off as the fans. This is some of the worst 'football' I have ever watched.
I think we still have a nucleus of good players but the diabolical formation and tactics are so easy to play against that I do not see any results coming our way soon. Of course players must take their share of responsibility but if you are being told to play a certain way (that is not working) and get bawled out in public when you do not then the only person to blame is the manager.

st jock reacted to windae cleaner in Not Paying Murray's Wages!
I would say we were spoiled 77-90.
That was a long time and people at my age won't accept anything else if honest
I don't go every week as i help to run a team who play Sat Afternoons
So i caught Fri night's game and was horrified at the first half performance
I know it's an old cliche but i have seen better teams down the Racecourse than what i witnessed in that first 45
I go when i can but these days out of duty and very rarely get excited on what's on offer
First impression we have only 2 fitba players out there in Mallan and Shankland
It's not good enough if you want to entice people back
I would say the majority of our loyal support were around in that Golden time and they are getting older and older every passing season
The young ones aren't coming back as it must be soul destroying more or less every Home game St Mirren don't win
No matter what St Mirren should be set up to try to win their home games
That means no just 1 up front and 2 holding midfield players and some genuine wide players to go at players
Murray should told this
He would get some slack if the team were having a go

st jock got a reaction from Radar in The Blue Puke V St Mirren - 7/8/15
Was expecting worse, especially after their second goal went in, but have to give the players credit after that, Have to remember that was the most difficult fixture of the season, and we were in it until 5 mins from the end. Indeed, if someone else had taken the penalty, and we had got the bye kick instead of the corner for their first...... anyway, lots of positives for me. Especially McMullan and Baird.

In response to the questions above, and don't expect an answer back this quickly all the time !
Do the club have any plans to provide a club shop this season?
Yes expect an announcement soon...
Do the club have any plans to better promote the use of the car park (especially for away fans)?
Open to suggestions on how we can do this better. We charge £4 on matchday and we do advise the visiting clubs about this.
Will there be a Fans Open day as part of the Pre-Season preparations to help promote the club within the community?
Yes considering having an open day at Ralston and possibly one at the stadium too (doing this with fans Council)
Are there any current plans to develop the Void?
Yes, looking at stage 1 just now....
Will the new screen be installed in time for start of the season?
Groundworks scheduled for next week and screen installation w/c 23rd June..

He was also less successful at the top level. Not happy with Lennon, but surely comparisons with Gus should have ended 3 seasons ago?
