The way to play the old firm is keep it tight ,even if they score keep it tight , then for the last fifteen make a couple of substitutions and have a go . That's what away teams do in the champions League . Our plan was going ok ,until the award of a dodgy third penalty . Look forward to seeing how attack minded we are tomorrow.

Yeah heard it. Was interesting to hear Neil McCann come out and back St Mirren after the interview and to a lesser extent Ian McCall. -

Too many facts in that posts for some. Which they'll no doubt ignore or try to twist to suit their warped agendas.

Correct, as would Kearney.
The naysayers will pick up on the fact that he said at the Q&A several months ago that his preference is to have permanent players supplemented by a couple of loan deals but happily miss out the caveat of him saying 'but in January we know that might not be possible' as there are greater constraints to work within in this window.
Even in the season of the great escape, we signed 10 players. 5 were loan signings and 3 were on 6 month contracts in Todd, Fjelde and Stelios (2 of whom signed extensions after the season ended).
The only players we actually signed on anything other than an extended trial were McGinn and (I think) Eckersley who got 18 months each and even then, they both had relegation get out clauses.
You have to give up so many concessions in January to get what you want and need...no club who is doing well in January brings in 8-10 players so the ones that do have to make do and mend. That's just life when your summer window has been more or less FUBARed.

Possibly Jackanory story but sounds like Lennon

Just skimmed the last 8 pages and my eyes are bleeding. For what it's worth OK reminds me of Jack, and he took a wee while to get it right. I think we'll be OK. No pun intended etc.

I think a mention for Cody Cooke is due, chased a shot into the box, got the rebound and started the fight back.
Really pleased for the lad, some decent hold up play too. Can see why Oran been has been looking at a target man.
Maybe young Cody in the longer term.

I don’t understand a post like this.
We were pish in the first half and were rightly behind. Not sure 0-2 was a fair reflection but that’s what the scoreboard said after 45 mins.
2nd half was different gravy. We moved the ball much quicker and didn’t allow Alloa to settle into their shape when they lost possession. We scored three goals and you’ll be hard pressed to see two better passes thanks McGinn’s to set both up and the finish for the 3rd was sublime. There’s your quality right there. How is that “jammy”?
Add to that young Lyons showed flashes in his cameo, the keeper looked rock solid and Popescu was superb.
With, at least, another 3 to come in there is definitely cause for cautious optimism. I’d certainly rather be in our shoes tonight than the fans of ‘Well, Accies and Dundee.

That type of guy has always been about though. Before the internet and cctv , they would get a punch in the mouth or a kick in the haw maws and that was the end of it.

I daresay he won't be the first footballer in history to play with contact lenses in
Apparently this boy has been different class in training. Looking forward to seeing him in the Black & White!

Langbank reacted to Sweeper07 in January Arrivals
You are correct - so he has scored 4 goals in 14 Premiership matches this season with pretty poor supply, a lack of quality in the team etc
about 1 in 3 is not too bad if he could be the 2nd striker and the about to be 1st striker could hit 1 in every 2 matches - that would do fine I suspect.

That was the home game. He got our goal down there. -

I fail to see how some folk can't see that Cammy is not the same player in this League. His touch is poor, falls on his arse far more than he should and most definitely
looks less sharp than last year. That's my opinion on what I've seen. Like many Buddies I thought he was Player of the Year last year. That was then ,this is now.
We cannot afford to be sentimental ^^^^^^ given where we are right now, as others have said, if Oran needs to punt Cammy then so be it.
Let's get some new blood in and give this a real go until the end of the season.
COYS.

You rate him far higher than he deserves. He has contributed a cross for 1 goal this season and is most likely to be on above average wages in our squad. He regularly has lost the ball and his marker - he is a championship player and I for one will be glad to see him off the books to fund a better replacement.
Don't get me wrong - He contributed really well last season. Yet there is no room for sentimentality in our current predicament. We need a squad of players who are good enough to help us to survive and give us a platform to be a really decent team in this league.

McIntyre is an unfunny arsehole , who I wouldn't watch from my back window if he was standing on my garage roof with a mic ! Just sayin'.

Lets see where Stubbs manages again to see what the football community think of him.
If he manages again ?
Stubbs for me was the worst appointment SMFC have ever made in over 50 years of watching the team.
I have a hunch that Oran Kearney is going to turn out to be a quality appointment.
