norman reacted to antrin in vote Vaclav for best signing of the season...
I expected there would be troglodytes bemused by the idea of voting in an ineffectual online poll that may give ephemeral recognition to one of our own, to praise him in even the humblest manner.
We used to be very good at dis sort of ting (winning the interweb), in the olden days when this forum was just the humble guestbook - decades ago, now...
There is NO point to Twatter.
There is no point to football... nor St Mirren, civil society, black-puddings, wallpaper, pied-wagtails, jobbies or sorcerer's apprentices .
We should all curl up and die.
Or you could dawdle through your digital countdown to death, simply waiting for that inevitable moment when you cease taking breath...
...by... just... voting for OUR no bad goalie, as being the best transfer of this season.

norman reacted to W6Saint in Dundee United Seem Very Confident
BT and the BBC are desperate for them to be back in the Premiership... the absolute drivel the pundits were pedaling last night is scandalous.
They can't handle the fact that football is not the way it was back in their day. I hope we shut them up. I really do.

norman reacted to Kemp in Stubbs putting the boot in
How many f**king times do we need to hear this pish.
Allan, son, nobody is disputing the squad needed major surgery. The issues are;
1. The players you did sign were an utter load of shite. You know nothing about scouting and clearly have no good contacts - maybe just some guys who pretend to be your mate in order to cash in when they sell you aforementioned shite.
2. You have zero man management skills. In fact, you come across as an annoying prick that nobody would want to work for.
3. You have zero tactical knowledge. You couldn't beat an amateur side or a non-league side because your players had no idea where to even stand or pass the ball.
Look forward to a resounding chorus of "Are you watching, Allan Stubbs?" when we beat United and stay up.

There's an extra bit in one of the papers I found amusing:
"I remember talking about Cammy Smith at the time when I was trying to do a bit of wheeling and dealing to try and get one out and one in.
“And it was all ‘Oh but Cammy was our Player of the Year last year’.
“But you look at the teams that were looking to take those players, it was all Championship teams. I think that really tells you a lot."
Yes Alan - but we couldn't even get Championship teams to take the duds you had landed us with! We had to send Heaton back to non-league and Kpeweka followed him and has now been binned!
Good to see him once again saying he isn't bitter.

Nope I'm saying you made an arse of yourself when you insisted he brought on a forward instead of a midfielder.

It'll probably rain as well.
Then there will be traffic queues getting in an out of the city.
A plague of locusts will hit.
Then back to work on Monday.
Why bother even getting out of b......zzzzzzzz.

norman reacted to Hambud in Ryan Flynn Signs
For me all the good that Brad does goes unnoticed and people only remember the bad bits.
He was pretty good in the first half with a good run down the right hand side early on. He had a header on target all be it it wasnt very powerful but I think that was mainly down to the cross that came in.
Generally he was good until he tried an ambitious cross field ball to Paul McGinn and it went straight to a Hamilton midfielder, which is the only bit that people remember.
I understand people hope for more from him but hes been a regular feature in the midfield since we started to improve.
I quite like him. -
norman reacted to oaksoft in Motherwell v St. Mirren 4th May 2019
That is a tremendous result for a Saints team which was all but relegated just a few weeks ago.
Immediate relegation has been avoided and I think that the whole team deserves a lot of respect for that.
These players are digging out results against 3 teams 20+ points ahead of ourselves at a time when they are under enormous pressure to save jobs at the club and their own careers. That is something a few of the roasters above don't seem to be able to get their thick skulls around.
Anyone wittering on about our performances clearly knows nothing about having to perform under such pressure.
Anyone wittering on about how Motherwell players have nothing to play for clearly doesn't understand anything about having a career in football.
If we can beat Hamilton next week we'll be going to Dundee a single point behind. I'd take those odds now.
In fact I'll take a play-off right now as long as we go into them with the momentum we have now.
Everyone is tlaking about Dundee Utd but I am sure it'll be Inverness.
We should all be extremely confident about beating any play-off opponent over two matches with this set of players.

Oh, for the love of god.
There were reasons for the “weakened” side and none of them were to do with throwing the towel in.
Ferdinand for McKenzie - GMac was not fit to play two games in 4 days having been out a year.
Corbu for McGinn - it was stated on here that McGinn was carrying a knock and wasn’t fit to play 90 mins.
McGinn for Lyons - upgrade.
McPherson for Dreyer - Tactical as we expected to have to defend more and this isn’t Dreyer’s strength.
Kellerman for Flynn - Flynn was injured. Ethan would likely have filled this role but was suspended.
Cooke for Mullen - Mullen has just played his first game in a while and Kearney clearly felt 3 games in a week would be too much.
I know that a huge part of your reason for being is to dig the BOD and the manager for anything that allows you to express whatever pent up aggression/frustration you have but you’re barking up the wrong tree on this one.
Maybe Kearney could’ve risked a couple of the above players but you would have been the absolute first to get on his back if we’d lost anyway and the likes of Flynn were then out for the Accies game or more.
Incidentally, the performance against Celtic with this weakened team was no better or worse than previous efforts.
Dry your f**king eyes and get over it. -

You talk utter f**king shite.
The boy had a poor game that is all he clearly lacked confidence today.
He brought the winning goal last week
What the hell do you bring to anything other than just being a complete c**t. -
norman reacted to Wendy Saintss in Hamilton vs St. Mirren 6th April 2019
Indeed.
Mackenzie injured again after 1 game back, Hippolyte on the bench for Dunfermline, Eck playing for Forfar and McShane heading for League One.
To think there was a near total meltdown on this forum when these guys were told they could leave.
The heart was ripped out of the team! [emoji23]

Given we spent so long in 12th place and at one point were 5 points behind Dundee I would have bitten your hand off to avoid 12th. That is our first point at Accies in years and people are still complaining.
10th is absolutely within our grasp. Remember Hamilton have a very tough derby against Motherwell to come and they have to visit us as well.
4 points have been banked this week.
Dundee now need a minimum of a 2-result swing to overtake us, given the goal differences, with 5 games to go.
I'd say that was a f**king good 7 days.

norman reacted to DLBud in If we stay up... Give us the family stand back.
We were around 1,700 fans down in Saturday. There are a few reasons for this;
Saturday’s game was a relegation battle.
Fans displaced from their normal seat.
Playing Celtic and people expecting us to get hosed.
Playing Celtic and people not wanting to expose themselves to their fans.
Game was on the telly.
Game was midweek, which always impacts the crowd.
They all impact the home crowd and three of them would do so against any other opposition too so the extra cash is definitely welcome.
GLS is running a business and cash flow is vitally important so any income streams have to be maximised. I understand this is an emotive issue but the only way to fix it, IMO, is to fill it (at least 75%) with season tickets.

Was disgusted to hear some of our so called fans boo and swear at Paul McGowan when he came on as a sub. Just for those who don't know he never asked to leave Saints Tommy Craig said he was over the hill and not good enough. And I was at the fans council meeting when he said it. So if you wanna boo anyone try Mr Craig. Disgusting behaviour. Guy is a legend at Saints MOM In the final.

Between this and the hopeless Mullen scoring, and the hopeless Dreyer setting up the second, someone looks pretty stupid now.

norman reacted to bud84 in St. Mirren v Dundee (March 2019)
Without his header back across goal we don't score the second. Without him playing in Nazon to cross we don't score the first. If we don't score any goals we lose the game.
He definetly contributed alot more than two nice touches. To say his contribution means nothing is just silly.

It's funny how out of touch this place has become with the St Mirren fans I see and hear after every game. After the match all I saw was smiling, happy fans. Everyone I spoke to was delighted with the win and the way the team dug it out. Everyone agreed we deserved to win (because we did). Then you come on here and within minutes of the game ending the team and manager are being slated. No wonder there are fewer and fewer people posting on here.

Giving up on youth? We've had a 17 year old start in almost every game this season.
