My best Bud is a St Mirren fan living in Carfin so not too far away.....
I was born in Glasgow, live in Inverkip and have a business in Greenock.
Walking down to the local shops on the Monday morning after winning the League Cup in 2013 and being congratulated on our win by just about everyone I passed, in enemy territory, was brilliant and quite heart-warming!!

I've never even lived in Scotland...
I was brainwashed as a child by my grampa, who was from Paisley. I don't even have an English team.

Tony was also ridiculed severely, incuding a sketch on Only an Excuse at the time, for suggesting that Paul Lambert was a future Scotland internationalist who would be a million pound player.
A few years later Lambert won the Champions League with Borussia Dortmund.
Shame we sold him to Motherwell for tuppence. Plus Jim Gardiner who was worth a lot less than tuppence.

Just out of curiousity, I thought I'd see what each striker's minutes per goal contribution worked out as, taking into account the actual minutes played. Also listed the number of starts they've had, for interest.

Sutton - 14 starts, 6 goals, 2 assists (Goal contribution every 157 minutes)
Hardie - 8 starts, 3 goals, 1 assist (Goal cont. every 211 minutes)
Shankland - 6 starts, 2 goals, 3 assists (Goal cont. every 146 minutes)
    Clarkson - 11 starts - 3 goals, 1 assist (Goal cont. every 229 minutes)

Shankland has the best goals per minute ratio, with the least starts. Sutton has come into form with 4 goals in his last 6 games, but both have been doubles - hadn't scored since September before the 2 on Sunday.

In short, everyone has to do better, but some are getting more credit than others for contribution. Ultimately it's up to the manager to decide who he will pick, and who he'll let go.

He's probably the biggest living legend we have - doubt anyone comes close. Always positive about the club. Sometimes too positive, but I'd rather that than too negative.

We won't win the Premiership by 2019, but at least we're setting the bar high...

Thanks Buddiecat, a previous poster appeared to be looking to make mischief out of the situation and I was hoping that nothing untoward was happening, glad to hear it's not.
With regards to alarm call-outs I'm with you.........I've got my own business and it has other key holders but I always feel it's my business and therefore my responsibility to attend when possible.

The question has been asked, the answer as i wrote above is,we were told we couldn't have meetings at the stadium because we did not have a key holder attending all our meetings. I can only guess that there is some restriction on the number of people who can hold keys and quite honestly i personally would not want to be a key holder at the moment as i would become liable for everything held in the stadium and for the conduct of everyone at meetings.I don't for a minute think anyone of the committee would do anything untoward at meetings, but it is a big responsibility which would also mean i would have to make myself available for call outs from police etc., if anything happened at the stadium in the middle of the night.
When we do become owners, that would be different because i would take it as part of my duty as a committee member to take on responsibilities and by then i would have more time on my hands because i will have retired from my daily job and will be looking for something to keep me occupied.
It's not a matter of trust it's a matter of  there being any availability for another key holder and also of someone in our group actually wanting to hold keys 24 hours a day 365 days a year. And more to the point it actually suits the majority of the group to have meetings in the town centre because they are actually walking direct from work or getting off a bus from work and going straight to a meeting and being able to get something to eat there,in my case i can walk from home to meetings after having my dinner, and on one week in five i work until 6.00pm so have to go along late but not too late as i work in the town centre as well as live there.
I have been a key holder in a previous job and can tell you from experience,it's no fun being responsible for making sure the alarm system is on and working and even less fun being called out in the middle of the night because the alarm has gone off and you have to go into every single room to satisfy police that nobody is in there, usually with the police just waiting in their car for you to do that on your own, that is if the police actually turn up,most of the time they just let you get on with it and wait for you to contact the alarm monitoring company to say you have checked and all is well.So i'll wait until i retire and can get a large feck off dug to take with me.

Just like the guys on the pitch, the Smisa director is joining a team, he/she needs to bring their talent to the fore, be decisive, but also play for the team, and all us in the support.
how quickly would a blow-hard become a bore and counterproductive? In such a short space of time the board, smisa and the fans have come together and delivered a project in weeks, that had been years in the pipeline.
it is with immense pride i look at the first project spend decided upon by the smisa members, a facility to ensure no matter what challenges you have in life, at our club we see you first as one of us, a St mirren supporter and we will happily make sure you can enjoy the same rights of access as all St Mirren fans. There is much to be proud of at our club, perhaps tapping into that can inspire us all to up our game?

I'm not sure if I'm buying into the idea that the SMiSA rep who is elected will necessarily be 'challenging' the board. He will be a part of that board, so will have the same status as the others in terms of generating ideas and raising issues, etc.
I assume that the idea is for the SMiSA member to represent the broader membership (and support base in general), not agitate for the sake of it.
Sonny is spot-on, it isn't a them v us scenario. This isn't like a Parliament that requires an effective opposition. Yes, we need someone who is confident and assertive, but he will be part of a team, so should be working towards consensus where possible.
Personally, I'd rather have someone who has good ideas, a bit of drive, and, above all, a love for our club. I'm less concerned about how effectively he can challenge the chairman and CEO, etc. Ideally, they will work together, and that won't be necessary too often.

Was in the 1877 club before the game, there's a really good atmosphere about the place with the disabled ramp being opened the young boys getting their chance and management team that really cares and is ambitious. Let's hope that this is just the start of the good things that the new BOD have started to put in place.
It was good to see Gordon Scott at the disabled ramp along with David Nicol chatting to them.

Kenny, if I may use his First Name as I don't know him, was never going to be your candidate, what you are attempting to do is convince as many others that he's not the right candidate for the role.
All three have been forthright and brave enough to stand and for that alone have my respect. I will read and listen to what each one has to say and base my decision on that and I hope that the majority take a similar view. I thought, when I saw this thread opening that it would be a good opportunity for people to ask questions and receive "honest" replies to their queries.........the last thing I was hoping for was to see a "potentially" positive thread being dragged into turgid, repetitive guff.
Occasionally you surprise me when you have something balanced and worthwhile to say ........... unfortunately I'm never surprised when you "spout" from on-high half truths, not even near truths and sometimes untruths to further whichever agenda you are peddling.

I initially responded to Stuart on this thread to set the record straight over something. I daresay Kenny could have done it himself, but I thought my limited intervention might be of some assistance.
I don't generally use the ignore function. Much as I understand that it can be a pain for those who do to have to see quoted posts of folk they have on ignore, it seems to me to be an inevitable hazard of using the forum.
Bottom line is that you don't have to read anything. Just scan, dismiss, and move on.

There are some on this forum who would never retract or apologise for something they put in the forum or in any domain, yet continuously dig other people up for things they said in the past.

Bad mistake to tweet that remark, but credit is due for a swift and sincere apology.  Time to move on.

As far as I can see the club is trying to protect it's relationship with Police Scotland that allows it to have most games without the need for a police presence at most games.
To do that it need to, I assume, follow due process when a fan is arrested at a match.
And I think that's the key here. If Josh was arrested then the Police or the PF need to decide what they are doing with that. If no charges are being brought then I can't see any reason why the club wouldn't allow Josh back in.
What I don't really understand is that Josh doesn't even appear to have been arrested, from what I am reading he was just thrown out of the game. If that is the case I can't really understand why the Police would be waiting on the PF. Either he was arrested, and might face charges, or he wasn't. I'm confused.com!

You are 100% correct and our family do not request any special dispensation whatsover. If Josh is found guilty of any offence then a ban is the recourse under SPFL laws and Police Scotland if a banning order is placed. We do not have a problem with that.Hopefully by the end of this week the matter will be resolved but at no time have we sought immunity from the club because of our support over the years.
