I didn't think he was the right man at the time, I felt we needed someone with experience and a knack making teams hard to beat, basically Gus but i understood a high percentage of fans would have been against him from the start.

Gus till the Summer to stabilise us with the view of appointing someone like Ross would have been my approach but getting rid of Ross now is pretty pointless. Can't keep chucking managers.

I think we underestimated just how vital Brian Caldwell was.

Only 1 defeat in the last 5 so it is becoming rarer.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt for the first half dozen league games and defended his performances.
However, he then went from decidedly ordinary to exceptionally poor and I could no longer defend him.
When you look at the job Magennis has done , with and without the presence of Quinn, it really puts Hutton's performances into perspective.

Problem with the generic Nike/Adidas kits are they are quite expensive for a start (been mentioned) and they aren't really unique, for example 10 teams could have a similar version to ours, where as are kits are sometimes fan designed or designed by some trend setter at JD.
I only want whats best for the club, someone has to find a way to maximise the revenue from kit deals/merchandise. If it came to it I'd rather we accepted JD's blood money but then again I don't care about the kits and don't have a kid to nag me about them. 100k is a hell of a hole to fill at this level, not even worth thinking about at League One level, that's even more disastrous. 

The kit Ayr Utd wore on Saturday would do me as an away strip for us. Adidas stripes, mostly red, bit of black and white on the torso. A template that many clubs will have with their own badge and sponsor logo, but it looked the part. IMHO.

Pretty sure our pals from the arse end of the Clyde have managed to do their own kits this season. They made a proper balls up at first with a stinking kit (or built up publicity) and then got the fans involved with choosing their favourite kit from about 5 options. I think they have had another vote for next seasons away kit already. They have a pretty crap commercial department by all accounts, if they can do it anyone can. Going by the forums it sounds like we have a big demand for Saints kits.
First thing I'd be doing is getting Provan Sports involved again.

That's a very large financial "hole" to fill. Potentially 3 players salaries.
However, we'll probably be getting rid of a few of our higher earning players at the end of the season.
The strip, the launch date and it's quality will have to be perfect or we'll be drowned in floods of tears.
 

The club needs more representation in the town centre. Whenever the club has a bit of success the local politicians all jump on the bandwagon and tell us how important we are to Paisley. If you walk about Paisley town centre you wouldn't even know we had a football team, hardly a badge in sight. Even when I was a kid there used to be the wee StMirren stall in the Piazza, used to love walking past it because it was something to do with Saints.
Would it be too much hassle to have a few signs put it about the place letting people know who our next game is against? Or a wee stall in the town centre for a couple of hours on the morning of a home game, hand out black and white balloons to people, generate a bit of interest. It will cost time and money but at the moment your average Paisley person doesn't give a monkeys about the club. Will your average punter know we have a function suite for hire? 
Should have been able to utilise our partnership with JD Sports and Braehead a bit more. Our stadium is covered with JD logos, we have had a few horrific kits down to them but when you go in their shop your lucky to find StMirren stuff and if there is any its normally stuck behind a Old Firm/Barca top.

I genuinely couldn't care less where new players come from as long as they are good enough.
Agents will be hurling CVs at the club from all quarters at the moment, don't really see anything wrong with James using his contact network to put feelers out.
January a very difficult month to trade in, as we have seen in the past. Teale and Longwell tried to bring in literally dozens of players in the Jan they were in charge trying to save our Premiership place and they found it incredibly difficult.
