He is a ruiner of clubs. He cuts the backroom staff and the youth programmes to allow money for more expensive signings.
We need someone who will work well within our budget and give the youth system it's proper place. JC aibnt that type of guy.

Having spent time with Brian, discussing business matters in general and saints in particular, i can safely say your post is a pile of uninformed pish.
But there you go again, wishing for something without any idea as to what that something will look like when it materialises
So go on, tell us exactly what BC did, why he was so bad at it and who you have in mind to fill his not inconsiderable boots?

One of my collegues has a son who was at Kilmarnock, came to the saints system for 3 years and when it was plain he was not quite good enough the kid moved on to Ayr , he is now in the juniors. Both father and son are fulsome in their praise of Longwell and say that he developed immensely under him and that all of the kids loved the set up. Everyone got more than enough attention. So there you have a better player in the juniors than we would otherwise have-I get stories of many more just like that kid.
there are no negatives to exploit here.

Top marks for quoting the visit usa holiday brochure
there is huge variance in the quality of roads in the US, if you go to St louis you will find the roads are great, cross the river to East St Louis ( a different city and state) and you don't go far before things look very different. Places like Houston are just the same and go outside the big cities, many country towns are served by very basic roads.
the average cost of building a road in the US is $1-5 million /mile (excluding land costs) and the average cost per mile in the UK is £1.8-4.8 , land costs are what makes Britain more expensive a place to do busines than in large land masses like the US so factor in a large figure for that too. Now America is a land of huge disparity in almost every way but the huge bulk of it is is dry, solid ground and most roads go in straight lines in a way that can't be achieved. in the UK making them faster and easier (therefore cheaper) to build.
Building on the scale that they have in the past, maybe they still do, also introduces economies.
Weather on the whole achieves far greater extremes in the US, but few places there see the constant rainfall that Scotland in particular does. Extremes of temperature are a problem but roads melting? Yes you see it in old movies, but it is relatively rare these days and is easy and cheap to repair cos guess what-it is dry and warm most of the time where these things arise. Even the extreme cold is less of a problem than the wet.
Salt water corrosion caused the Forth Bridge Failure? You must be lying or know something the government isn't telling us because the reports are of a cracked weld in an AMERICAN designed bridge. Hurricane battered? Did you see the footage of the deck moving (as it should and was designed to do) by several feet in every direction in 100mph- plus winds just a few years ago? The bridge is failing due to age and overuse, not corrosion. Did you know the plan is to keep it open as a dedicated public transport link after re-furb once the new one opens, so it cant be that fecked, can it?
Earthquake zones in the US? How many are there? I don't know but I feel confident there are only a few of them, meaning the extra cost in protecting them is absorbed in the massive overall average cost to the country.
In answer to your question, I didn't go as far south as the keys (did I bother? you ask-what a dumb way to put it) but didn't see a lot in the way of tolls as i crossed the network of huge elevated roads across the bays & rivers going south from Tampa, nor did i see any tolls after the interstate on the drive from Orlando to Panama City, so tell me how does the "american system" of toll roads pay for that network? State and local taxes pay for that on every purchase you make in a restaurant or a store. And the tolls are generally very low indeed, compare that to the UK's toll road on the M6 which is an under-used and expensive white elephant. Tolls don't work in the UK
I wonder, have you noticed the reports of flooding in the UK? there have been a few, you know. Believe it or not, the floods have damaged roads and it's very costly to to put it right-every country has it's challenge.
You have come up with your usual mix of adding things I didn't say, insults, googlings, bad jokes and sweeping generalisations to try and cover up the comment you made about preferring a system that simply does not exist (see slarti's post). Of course, this makes your likees every bit as thick and mean spirited as yourself.

I really have to say, it makes me a little sad as to how conditional you seem to be about the cup win. You constantly defend the decision to move on DL even though the thing that made that decision wrong was the total lack of a next-stage plan.
it's fine to expect more-but from what? The level of investment SMFC enjoys? -come on!

Only the consortium want to leave, not the entire BoD. They have placed an unreasonable value on their shareholding. They used their board positions to strengthen their hold on the club over a period of years, thus stifling the chance of anyone with an alternative plan gaining some leverage.
In short, they thought they could maximise their investment and capitalise on it. Their best offers have come and gone, if IM could see the writing on the wall then why can't the board? A valuation of around half of the asking price would give them all money they never had in their accounts before, albeit less than they want or think they are due. They could also get their loans repaid and head off into the golden sunshine still comfortably wedged.
Their valuation is choking the club, 850k and a rapid repayment of their loans should be enough recompense them

An outpouring of some sorts was always on the cards, by and large, Murray and the board could have mitigated that with a charm offensive. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be in their nature's to do that. If you go into a job knowing that failure looks like this then I'm afraid you either take it on the chin or find a way to think and act your way out of the mire.
Murray seems to be a strong enough character to move on from this, but a bit of humility and self-examination is in order. He doesn't have to do it in public but had he had a re-assessment of where we were 2 months ago all of this could have been avoided.
Did you see Eddie Howe's demeanor at the game on TV last night, not just strength of character but compassion, humility and team spirit all displayed by the way he put his arms around one of his players during the game. We can all be a bit like that if we allow ourselves, can IM honestly say that he showed a human side that won him some currency with the support?
Of course, if that is lacking, someone senior at the club could have coached and advised that mentality into him. They are supposedly a team at board and management level as well, does it appear to you that the board are right behind the manager or are they simply a distance away from him?

Contrast this with the treatment of Tony Fitz when he was unable to turn things around. He maintained his dignity and showed how much it affected him and the fans responded. Murray had to go and should never have been there, but the manner of his leaving was significantly affected by his lack of empathy and general demeanor. I also think that a handful of fans have vented 2 years worth of frustration in 10 minutes, it should have been directed that the board, but they were not visible and Murray copped for it.
All that being said, and not arguing over whether the abuse is justified or unfair, the situation had to change and it was never going to change if the manager got an easy ride from the fans. Everybody would have hunkered down and Murray WOULD have waited for a pay-off
Finally, to me, it is not clear if IM is leaving without some sort of package. Simply resigning pending agreement of terms, which is what his agent will have advised already, does not in itself preclude some severance discussion. IM could possibly argue a case for constructive dismissal and a deal will be done to avoid that.

They have made their minds up
No thought of how the constraints of working at St Mirren affected anything, and even more unbelievably, no credit for Danny as to how he performed within those constraints compared to the three managers who followed him.
Of course there were problems and mistakes, however they pale against what has happened since then
DL and AM as a team sounds good to me, but I wouldn't subject the wee guy to the treatment he got here once more

To get back to the original point
a weld failed because the bridge had been used well beyond design limits
Politicians knew the design life was being exceeded for years BEFORE the snapping wires were detected
In fact the wires problems were found because of monitoring put in place BECAUSE politicians decided that design life was to be exceeded. There was no plan in place from ANYONE until the SNP committed funds, there was talk but no plans
all the politicians avoided action for decades, that is the root-cause of the current problem

    Poor wee Danny
Too honourable for those around him-as he was at Paisley. He kept them up by the thinnest margin and tried his best, but there is just nothing to work with there
Unfortunately, when you are largely operating in the bargain area for the league you are in, every signing is a gamble. Some will pan out and others won't. My Only crticism of DL is that at St Mirren he should have brought in fewer and better players, after the cup-winning season. But the dilemma was always quality or quantity. He had a thin enough squad as it was, cutting a couple of heads to allow better quality signings was possibly a gamble he just couldn't make.
He should have been allowed to show he had learned from a pretty hard season though, that was always the safer bet for saints last year.
