What I like about that article is Flood says there's only one difference between the sides then unintentionally mentions another three or four.

I take it anywhere near the ground will be ok?
I see Dundee Utd are advising there are road closures in Dundee and to avoid the Clepington Road area. There's nothing on Traffic Scotland mentioning any road closures round there though.

HAAAA! A Google image search ‘St Mirren 1987 Scottish Cup’ threw this one up with all the others. I never even clocked it!
I won’t delete it - too funny.. if only the photo had shown the blazer badge! Haaaa!
I can get out of this. Just watch.....

Of course, Alex Smith wasn’t just a St Mirren cup winning manager, he also lifted the trophy with Aberdeen (see photo). A true Scottish football legend, well worthy of a good send off before emigrating to Australia....

You'd  be correct in assuming that I haven't seen their other 28 games. In fact, that's exactly what I said "I can only judge them on what I've seen"
I therefore have reason to believe that they'll be able to make things difficult for us again.
I'd have thought that was relatively straight forward. Hope this helps

Pontificating again. Do you just cut and paste replies?
The point being made by LargsBud is that from his perspective fans who have been attending through difficult times would want to be there watching when the title is won as it might be at Brechin .
I doubt very much that he is in any way suggesting that those who can't make it due to personal or financial circumstances are in some way lesser fans.
Some who follow Saints progress are fortunate enough to be able to prioritise going to games and have the resources to do so. It is to this group that he is posing the question. Others may follow online, twitter or on TV or radio or perhaps reading newspaper reports pre and post match. They are no less St Mirren Fan for doing so of course.
Excitement is palpable. Many more than usual will travel. Our average travelling support this season has been just over 1,000. Suggestions made range from 2000 to 2700 . Very significant increase.  Should a further 1000 or so attend then this would be close to the core number who have been watching the team at home week by week and reflect the interest, priority given by these fans and their resources in attending games.

Bud, every forum has a total fanny, we are cursed as we have several
Its just trying to be controversial so people talk to the them. They used to put in chains and have fruit thrown at them................. now they have internet access......
Every player has been exceptional , even our young lads out on loan are shinning...................
Samson is a legend ............. past and present..............
Beginning to think we have been infiltrated by Trolls...............  Anyone who can find negatives over our players is clearly not a fan of St Mirren FC, and should either be banned (  again) or ignored...................

Does anyone else have a plan for title clinching day?

As the title winning day comes a' closer so does my title winning day plan that does not differ at all from the last time when I followed exactly the steps detailed below.

I shall continue to attend the football as normal, nothing changes, wouldn't want to jinx anything now.  However when the title is clinched I shall stay and clap and scream like pre-pubescent girl at some boy band concert as our team enjoy the well deserved lap of honour.  I shall then return home as usual (although a half hour or so later due to immediate post match celebrations).  This is where my title winning planning kicks into effect.  I shall then need the following

    1)  An envelope with some skimmed off pension money
    2) A clean underpant (it is a special occasion)
    3)  Freshly pressed trousers
    4) New shirt that I bought 6 months ago and yet to wear
    5) My new brown brogues (actually several years old but I only wore them to a wedding once)
    7) My good tweed jacket
I shall then enjoy a very quick shower (the current wife has been briefed to be ready to assist as I cant reach certain regions anymore and I have little time to waste on this important evening) before donning the better attire before heading straight back into "the toon" I love where I shall visit various public houses singing songs and generally getting pished.  Incidentally the planning does not go much further, I accept that by closing time the clean underpants I donned will be pish stained as will my freshly pressed trouser.  I may or may not be in possession of both brogues but who cares we will have won the league.
Now should we win the league on a day we are not playing (yes it's perfectly feasible) I shall follow the same steps as above.
It also worth noting that the "guid claithes" will get an extra whirl as I have no doubt that Jack, James and his band of heroes will take a drive around the town on an open top bus (after the Morton game perhaps)?  Let us enjoy our successes when we can, let us enjoy our successes indeed.

Note:  How much is a pint these days?  I once heard a rumour of a pub charging more than £2.00.

I agree with everything said so far, I am just getting in before the usual pests ruin what has thus far been a damned good thread.

As for the highlighted bit I don't see the relevance to us.  You see I have chosen to accept the prophecy of a certain Mr Fitzpatrick and as such I fully expect that we will not only be comfortable in the top six but those pesky bigots from Glasgow will struggle to keep ahead of us (for the time being, Champions league doth beckon).

This personal  knocking of one poster on the forum by another is at best regrettable  and at worst downright damaging to encouraging participation on the forum.  I know that raising this won't help my popularity rating but this smart ass stuff is boring in both content and predictability and I don't think that I am alone in feeling this way. I don't expect others to share my views or interests nor to share theirs on all occasions but I hope that they can express them without being ridiculed. After all...we do all support St Mirren, don't we. Back to football. Looking forward to getting along to see the game tomorrow.

Ryan has struggled to find a regular place so far or a position to nail down but it think yesterday was just what was needed to let us see what he's about.
The assumption was that he'd be used as a wide man to let Kyle move inside but keeping him beside McGinn was a masterstroke.
He won everything defensively, constantly retained possession, showed a good range of passing, looked physically strong, always tried to move play forward, and provided a lot of good clearing headers as well as dangerous through balls that required some last ditch panic defending from M'Voto on more than one occasion. He was high energy for the full 90 minutes and a threat around both penalty boxes.
I have no issue with Danny Mullen getting motm yesterday as he really, really needed it and was highly impressive. But for me Ryan Flynn turned in the best performance in a team of very good showings.
