Desnold reacted to SaintGlenburn in Stubbs can go now
I dont want to see the guy lose his job but id like him to show a bit more of a human side.
Jack Ross biggest asset wasnt his tactical knowledge or transfer acumen but his personality and how he interacts with people.
He got the best out of a decent group of players and built a bridge between club and fans.
People are saying he (stubbs) shouldnt be compared to JR but that should happen always. I doubt that Stubbs hasnt seen the way Jack was, even when times were tough at the start and should at least do that part right. Little things like clapping the fans after a game and getting on the touchline for 90mins and out that seat would go a long way for me and many others.
If he showed a bit of passion for the club and its fanbase then he would maybe get an easier ride off the fans.

With hindsight and I know hindsight is cheating, but I wish we had gone with Jim Goodwin. My thinking being that even if we were struggling we would probably have maintained the tremendous connection between the fans, players and Club.

I caught a HT summary on Radio Shortbread of the Celtic v Hamilton game. The verdict was that Hamilton were very disciplined and well drilled.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Martin Canning. A guy that was thrown in at the deep end after Alex Neil left. A guy with no previous managerial experience at any level. Despite this, he has somehow managed to keep his club in the top league for several seasons.
Now, my position on Stubbs was that he only had to be better (or at least as capable) than the likes of Canning, McCann and whoever would be managing Livingston at any given point.
It is the absence of any consistent tactics, little planning in evidence, and a complete failure to execute the basics that is so alarming even this early in the season.
Like Stubbs, Canning was a defender, but it seems that he has drawn on this and made his team hard to break down. As things stand, our defending has been the most shambolic element in terms of the many deficiencies on display.

The club should be talking to their lawyers about getting out the contracts. The secret is to see things are not working early and deal with it, leaving it longer is mismanagement.

The early part of the season for the promoted side is always important. The last time we came up under Gus we got off to a flyer and still needed the “Great Escape” to avoid the drop.
Losing at home to the one team we probably banked on finishing above isn’t the end of the world but it is the realisation of fears many have had since the abject performances against Spartans, Queens Park and Sunderland.
Of course we’re not going to fire Stubbs. Not only is that ridiculous at this stage but we simply can’t afford to do it given his three year deal.
Things need to improve though starting with signings this week and I don’t mean any more non league pish or 20 year olds from down south. If we can get some experience in at key positions then we can start to see that improvement.
That’s the easy bit. There’s also something palpably wrong with the team spirit and that sits with the manager to sort out. If we’re going to have any chance of success this year then the core members of last years successful team and the manager need to be aligned. I don’t know who’s to blame for what I’m seeing but it needs f**king sorted. That wee show of solidarity/defiance by McGinn and Magennis when Cammy came on today was a real worry.

Forget about last season, how many expected us to lose 0-2 at home against Livingston?
Terrible performance, no shape, no desire, not a clue. -

We should be prepared and capable though. We have sold several players for decent fees, got the best part of a million for the sell on of John McGinn, more decent prize money for winning the Championship, sold out the family stand to the Old Firm (to fund more players) and got compensation for Jack being a bit of a sneaky bastard. Open the fekn biscuit tin.

Desnold reacted to Bearsden buddie in Stubbs can go now
No of course he didn't, But what Stubbs failed do was tell them what they should do when we get possession in different areas of the pitch. The players were playing today with no game plan at all and that was clear for everyone there today to see. Every time we got the ball its almost like they were thinking *right what do I do now*. Everyone knows livi play a very physical game and win a lot of headers, however dispite this we continually lumped balls up to Madsen (Another masterclass signing it appears from Stubbs) who didnt win a single one. The players played like they had no idea what they were meant to do, and not once did stubbs leave his dugout to give any orders to the team.

Ross lost those 6 games with Alex Rae's assembled squad that's why nobody was calling for him to be sacked then. As soon as Jack was able to bring in his own players and coach those players to play the way he wanted look what happened! Stubbs has had almost a full window to assemble the best team he could which has just been shambolic. He clearly doesn't know how to set the team out aswell as the players don't seem to have any specific game plan or plan of what to do in different situations. And positionally the players are all over the place. There were point today where Kyle was playing on the right, then on the left and then through the middle, all over the place. He has Coulson playing the entire left side, he is expected to push forward for every attack but also be back every time we defend, that is just appalling man management. There is no structure to the team what so ever, and to think that somehow it is going to get better or not gonna continue like this for the foreseeable future is crazy

Don't agree, we'd almost certainly be well adrift at the bottom of the table by then.

Let's not just put this down to a home loss which hard to please fans can't accept. This was an easy win against a team we finished far ahead of last season, a team we didn't get a shot on target against. If the final score had been 4-0 to them it wouldn't have flattered them. The players are not all bad so therefore Stubbs can't inspire them and we must replace him with someone who can.

Well we have no chance with him as manager so do we stick with a hopeless manager and rubbish players? I think we have some good players actually but he can't coach them apparently....

Yip that's him, but maybe being able to score against shit like Dundee isn't hard since Mullen managed it twice as well

If you criticise anything you're a Stubbs hater, if you praise anything you're a happy clapper and if you make a reasoned argument then your post is too long and you've bored people, it's bloody hard to be a contributer to this forum.

Nostalgia ain’t what it used to be. As an old fart I can’t imagine loving the “new” place. Entering through a vomitary has nothing on climbing the slope up to the North Bank.
Midweek games crammed against thousands of buds trying to identify players under the dimmest of floodlights are some of my strongest memories of the 60s/70s.
Still I appreciate many new fans (as in younger) have an affectation towards our Lego land stadium and fair play to them.
I’m sure I’m not the only fan who still says I’m going to “Love Street” on Saturday.

Goalkeepers are the most exposed in a team and mistakes pounced upon whereas strikers don't get half the venom if they miss good chances. Every goalkeeper in history has fecked up big time including the best, Clements, Banks, Gordon, Hart and De Gea. CS has made mistakes but I feel less than the great saves that won us the LC and gain promotion. There is no such thing as a faultless keeper and if ours was better he wouldn't be playing for a club our size.
