The rule with regards to fouls is that if a foul starts outside the box and then continues into the box then a penalty should be given.

This, however, is in relation to one player fouling another. I haven't been able to find any clarification if its the same principle for handball.

IMO, it probably is and therefore it probably was a penalty.

But, also IMO, he puts his hands up to protect his face. The ball would have struck his head if he hadn't put his hands up. So not deliberate handball? The deliberate handball area is very murky IMO.

Surely the offence is committed once the initial contact has taken place ?Whether hand ball or foul.

Read dirty sanchez’s quote for a better explanation.

There was a change recently such that if the foul begins outside the box and continues into the box then it’s a penalty.

So something along the lines of playing advantage to the last minute.

But it doesn’t apply to handball.

Not taking charge at any games. A background role.

He's effectively being backed by the beaks and kept out of the limelight. He should have been drawn over the coals and demoted to level 4 or below such has been his performances.

He's the 4th official for Hamilton v St Johnstone tomorrow and Aberdeen v QoS on Sunday.

It doesn't bode well for that match - imagine him judging whether a referee got something correct? Even worse if one of the other 3 takes ill - will he step in . . .

Should not be refereeing at our level full stop  . . . :hatman

He's already won a watch with no-one being Cited from the game against us.  Hiding him away as a fourth official just buys some more time.  Disgraceful.

Aye. And as for that, WTF is insufficient evidence when it comes to watching something from 1000 different angles in slow motion and close up? And it's very convenient that Defoe's incident is being highlighted while Candeias' dive into the box is left in the closet. The whole thing stinks of cover up.

Or shot.

Oh dear expect an SFA statement about death threats soon.

BTW was it Dallas that to quote the SFA "saw and deemed no foul"  a stamp on someones arm, An elbow in the face and "cupping balls" during the last ugly sister pantomime?

(I know off topic)
