Mr Zo reacted to DougJamie in Aberdeen v St Mirren 24 May 23
Was thinking same thing...Cynics could say we chucked away 4 pts ... but you need to put yourself in the position first.... love to take this to final game... point here and then do what we did 40 years ago and thrash rangers 4-1 final game....

Watched the game in the house and thought we were outstanding. 👏 Everyone played well with Main and Taylor being our stand out performers.
It really does feel like this could be such a massive season. We really need to grab this opportunity of getting European football.
This team are more than capable of getting a win at Pittodrie on Wednesday then take it into the last game. All assuming Hibs don't get a couple of wins in there next 2 games.
I think we will get something at Pittodrie midweek.

I was disappointed when Goodwin left, which might have been more down to his "club legend" status rather than his management performance, which was very inconsistent.
I didn't shit the bed during Robbo's bedding in period and thankfully neither did the board.
Robbo is streets ahead of Goodwin and we're incredibly lucky to have him, for now.
We've given every team in the top six a run for their money in at least one game this season and that's solely down to Robbo.

Changed my mind about going today pretty dodgy decision that by sounds of it.
Many teams like us have got top 6 and just ended season with 5 defeats, apart from a horrible 45 minutes Hibs we have played the bigger teams off the park and we should be sitting here with more points on board.
If we are in same position next Saturday at 12.25 I'll take that, since we got top 6 I've had this overwhelming feeling Trevor Carson will do a Jimmy Glass in 99th minute next week to secure European Football.

Main points for me
Curtis Main - excellent, bullied their defence all day but is defo penalised for being a big guy, should have had a load of fouls for today.
Small - good solid game, gave them plenty to think about
Taylor - good find by Robinson getting better all the time
Strain - what a find he is, great player and runs himself into the ground every game
Carson - great keeper ( although I was not convinced at first but then we have been spoilt recently)
The rest of the team played very well
Jota - why didnt he get a card for the dive or the taking out of Baccus off the ball
Celtics 2 goals - both came from almost nothing but then when they bring on 3 subs worth probably £10mil and we went toe to toe with them.
Great game to watch as a Buddie, yes they had more of the ball but you expect that from a team with multiple times our budget but we took the game to them.

The only thing the players and management staff should be interested in is winning football matches. They are professionals who will be on win bonuses and financial incentives to finish as high up in the league as possible. Sadly some might already have new clubs lined up and don’t care as much as others.
They certainly don’t give a flying fcuk about any Kibble well being centres or who the fcuk runs the 1877 private members club. Our team has run out of steam. They have taken 1 point out of last 12 available at precisely the wrong time of season. To blame any of that on this off field shitshow is fcuking ludicrous.

Doakie there lies the problem. They have used the clubs name and land in order to feather their own nest. When challenged they have deflected from the truth and blamed others. Furthermore they have claimed it doesn’t matter, it never got passed stage 2 anyway. (The Kibble lackey says for goodness sake it was only a Well-being Centre) Lack of honesty is a terminology being used by some however if verges on corruption. If you do something wrong at least have the integrity to take ownership of it.
The Kibble connection was supposed to bring honesty, collaboration, cohesion and governance, amongst other corporate bullshit. The actions of the board and AW have hindered the reputation of St Mirren and i now suspect the Kibble. The Council are less likely to assist them if they know that they are going to get thrown under a bus and used as scapegoat when things go wrong.

The way the game finished yesterday neatly summed up the entire week.
Someone needs to get control over this nonsense, get folk round a table and bang some fucking heads together.
This is a fan owned club and I can tell all those involved, on BOTH sides, that the whole episode is EMBARRASSING those fans.
To have the manger even have to speak out about it in his presser two days before a massive game was also EMBARRASSING.

I spoke to a sensible fellow fan yesterday, whose opinions on business I massively respect.
He said in his experience Joint Ventures never, ever work because the interests of the two parties are never 100% fully aligned.
It's an interesting perspective as the power of veto pretty that both sides retain has pretty made the Kibble/SMiSA partnership a joint venture in all but name.
As I think I've said before I do not for one second believe Kibble to be a bad thing for the club, or a bad organisation.
Some of the people and practices they have brought into the club have made a very positive impact behind the scenes.
For me however the jury is very much out on the individuals they have in the boardroom though.
And to balance that out, I think the jury must also be out on the individuals SMiSA currently have in the boardroom too.
This has been a shit week in every possible way but the saddest and most alarming moment in all of it was the manager sitting there in his press conference two days before such a big game lamenting the negativity that the club has had to endure these last few days.

I don't know Alan Wardrop. I've never met the man. I don't know if he is an arsehole or otherwise. He may be. What I DO know is that some of his allegations, by the Club's own admission, are true. For ANY organisation to put forward an application in another party's name, no matter what stage of the process is at, is unprofessional, unethical, and might even be deemed fraudulent if it had gone any further. Th Board has not, IMO, given a valid reason as to why this happened, but rather produced an ambiguous statement and then gone on to "shoot the messenger". I trust that the matter will be addressed in full at the SMISA AGM, and that SMISA will then get to the bottom of it at SMFC Board level. The whole episode makes the Club look like a bunch of incompetent chancers.

Mr Zo reacted to Ronnie in St Mirren v Kilmarnock SPFL PREMIERSHIP 22/4/23
My good friend and workmate who is a season ticket holder at Ibrox told me they have an option to log in to their account and put their seat up for grabs if they can't make game.
When it gets taken it gets them points to be exchanged for discounts on merchandise or season tickets, other tickets.
Obviously St Mirren would only need this option very rarely but might be an idea for future big games.

Mr Zo reacted to Hunterian in Motherwell v St Mirren Wed 15th Feb 2023
It’s damning that there are more people on to post for poor results than for a win or good performance.
This reminds me of my attendance at the Dundee game. Some bellend was moaning for the entire game, including the extra time.
Having supported the Saints for a few decades I’ve realised that you need to manage your expectations.
That was a terrible result but it can be banished by winning at home on Saturday. No doubt though, next 2 games must be won. No excuses.

Mr Zo reacted to Balmullo Bud in Motherwell v St Mirren Wed 15th Feb 2023
Just in after the long depressing drive home.
We struggle when teams sit in and we have to try and break them down. We have no one that can go past players and make things happen or score a goal out of nothing.
Inverness have a player that can. Could have done with wee Jay running at that Well defence tonight. I get he doesn’t fit in to Robinson’s system but surely he would’ve been good to bring on when we’re chasing a game?
Was always going to be difficult after losing 2 goals cheap early doors but we got back in it with more than enough time to get a result against a honking Well side who were ‘spoiling’ on a quite impressive level.
Why was Strain subbed? Injured? He was the only one that looked like he could create something.
A frustrating night, but at least the County game comes around quickly to hopefully get a win and lift us out of this wee slump.

Happy with signings and movement in the transfer window this month.
Tony Watt will do fairly well for us for the 16 league games he is with us for. Thierry Small comes with a very decent reputation for one so young and will hopefully push Tanser for a place on our left side. We have been lacking a bit on that side this season so hopefully he can help us push on.
Just hope there are no surprises in the next wee while and club announce that Baccus has signed for Wigan or the likes.

Mr Zo reacted to Balmullo Bud in St Mirren v Hibernian SPFL Premiership 4/2/23
Just in.
Disappointing performance but thought a defeat was harsh on us. Did enough for a draw but not a win. Don’t remember either keeper making a big save. Fraser got skinned for their goal on the break and the boy finished it well to be fair. It was less of a chance than Main’s in the first half. Thought he hit it too early and could’ve taken it into the box before he skyed it, but we can forgive him after Wednesday.
The game up in Aberdeen looks like it took a bit out of us. Didn’t have the same press and energy with too many of our players to mention off the pace. Gogic deserves a big mention though. Thought he was superb today. Agree that we need him in midfield. Presuming Gallagher is still carrying in injury not to be starting?? From the little we’ve seen of Taylor, he looks really good.
At least Scotland scudded England in the rugby down at jolly old Twickers to cheer us up a bit.

First match of the season for me and the boy. Will make a change from us shouting at the telly in Prague.
Hopefully both teams can go into it with a bit of form, so we have a big crowd.

Can't wait for tomorrow to come.
Was down at the ground earlier and the place was busy with peeps buying merchandise. Everyone had big smiles on their faces. Loads of families with several generations all excited about tomorrow and wanting to tap into this fantastic feel good factor that has been at the club and in the town in the last week or so. It's great!. There really is real air of excitement about this one and I desperately hope the team deliver on the day and lift the cup.
I think the players and manager are witnessing first hand with the visits to school's, the signing session, the videos being made, the banners being made, Facebook and Twitter antics just how much this means to everyone that have st Mirren at heart and even the whole of the Paisley and the surrounding area.
These guys have seen the images in the new stadium and the legendary status that the cup winning teams of 1926, 1959 and 1987 are held by our great club and its supporters. This current team could win this cup, possibly the only thing they may win in their careers, and if they returned to St Mirren Park in 25 years time they woukd be treated like gods.
Like other posters have mentioned, we have all invested so much time, energy and emotion into following our great club and I really hope we win. Many people like myself with have dad's, uncles and grandfathers that used to take them to games who are no longer with us and it really gets the eyes welling up when you think of them and thr raw emotions that will come flooding to the forefront of your thoughts if we win tomorrow.
I will be thinking of late dad at tomorrows game and how glad and proud I am that he took me watch St Mirren like his father did before him.
Please go out there, do your best and hopefully the cup will be brought back to Paisley and new legends will done the walls of St Mirren Park for generations to come.
