Great and wonderful performance.  The goals were up there at the top.  That was some pass by McAllister in his assist to the second goal.
If any of our players get injured we have talented subs to come on.  A confident and joyous team.

    Well deserved.
They are honking but we've been the better side by some way.
Doesn't make up for Sunday but can't have asked for any more form the manager and players.

we did well to get this far given the start to the the season.
The thing that annoys me about Goodwin is that he seems to think his team have more than one way to win a game in them  (We don't).  in a way it is good that he thinks that there should be other ways for us but we are not there yet and need to stick to the scrip for now.  Martindale knows his team have just one way of winning and sticks to it.  He will eventually be undone when the penny drops with the other managers, the only surprise is that it hasn't happened yet.

Really ? I didn't see a lack of effort just a lack if a cohesive strategy.

What are you talking about lack of effort. They gave 100% but the tactics and selection were a disgrace.

Six weeks ago we attacked teams from the start and played a pressing game when we lost the ball. We won most second balls. That got us success. Today we start with two left backs when we had a good left winger on the bench and sit back with Ethan and Cammy sitting in from of the back four leaving acres of space in front and the forwards isolated. Why Jim?

Well, we clearly weren't. It's all about opinions but to say that is ridiculous.

    Congratulations Livi.

No excuses. They deserved the win.

Saints started too defensively and gave Livi too much respect for far too long when in a semi final they should have gone for the jugular.

Livi bossed the first half and deserved their lead.

We left the changes far too late, and when we did remember how to attack, Livi defended as if their lives depended upon it.

They fought for one another, gave their all and deserve their place in.the cup final.

Would have been my wee Mums birthday today.

I had hoped to dedicate a win to her memory.

    Just wasn't to be.

    Well played Livi.

Where to start ?  We gave them too much respect. How they could go 10 in a row unbeaten , I'll never know , they are rotten. A hit and run championship team . Looks like Brophy and whoever else we have for forward roles are not the answer. If ever a game was there for the taking , that was it !

Fought our way back into it...
    But still lacking a threat.

I'd take Mason off at half time for Foley or Flynn.

Id like to see some more challenging for places at centre back … Stuart Findlay in from Killie who is in his last few months of his contract there. Good solid centre back with experience in this league I feel guys like Shaughnessy need to be challenged for their place if we are to get the best out of him.

    I beg to differ.
What's bad for the soul is allowing despair to settle in when times are tough.
The ability to remain positive when all others around you are losing their shit is very good for the soul.
We are only a few points from 6th place with several games in hand and half a season to play.
It's hardly time to start giving up.

The powers that be in the SPFL, the process, the SFA oversight, the appeals process, the timescales, the decisioning, the consideration for wider issues and breaches... Everything about this has been a shambles and again shines a light on the inept nature of those running our game at various levels.
At a very quick glance, (only looking at SMFC fixtures, accept Hamilton & Motherwell may have had fixtures over a couple of these weeks) I can see nine possible fixture periods to make up these games since the charge was brought and when the SFA will convene to hear the appeal. There is absolutely no reason such a severe punishment should have been considered for these breaches. People can claim the Aberdeen & Celtic situations were drastically different but the bottom-line is, the games couldn't get played because of Covid breaches and the clubs were found accountable for their players (proven in the punishments handed out). To think Aberdeen management and other staff/ players were not aware nearly a team worth of them were going to the pub that evening is also laughable.
From what I can tell, the only part of the recent Covid quiz issued which got overwhelming support was no to automatic 3-0 walkovers. On what planet did the disciplinary panel think this would be a suitable punishment given the varied Covid breaches by other players, clubs and football associations the world over?
Given now the situation in England, other suspected team breaches (Dundee United and Celtic) up here that have not been investigated and the SFA's own breach of protocol, surely there is little option but to get the 3-0 forfeits in the bin?
In a time where many football leagues are struggling, we yet again manage to stand out from the rest in our embarrassing handling of a situation.

They have both set up there own covid rules.  But level of punishment only becomes apparent when they find out which clubs break it first.

Strange folk finally snapping with Erwin today as I thought he linked play pretty well today especially when coming deeper 2nd half with the changes Jim made. Before the hour mark we could have played without a striker really. Two chances created and they fell to Fraser and Erharon. I still think Obika is the better option but today for me Erwin did ok.

My issue with us at the moment is not the “standard” of our football so much. We play some nice stuff generally. My issue is how frustrating we are to watch. Poor decision making or execution at the vital times after good build up play. Certainly not good for the blood pressure.
    Observations on today.
Alnwick was excellent as ever although did flap at one corner which nearly cost us but I wouldn’t be holding that against him. The guy is brilliant.
Tait, Shaughnessy and McCarthy were all decent. Fraser had a rare poor game.
Ethan needs a wee spell on the bench and JDH had a quiet game by his recent standards. Didn’t play particularly badly but just wasn’t as influential as usual.
Connolly was poor and one of the main sources of the frustration I was talking about. McGrath huffed and puffed. He was okay but he’s been much better. McAllister woeful. Looked fat and slow.
Erwin was awful too. I accept he was marginally better in the second half, but it’s a measure of how bad he is when folk start giving him praise because he managed once or twice to chest the ball down and pass it to a team mate. That is bread and butter for a player of his type and the bare minimum we should expect.
People saying we were lucky to get a point today and I guess we were, but only in the sense that we were 1-0 down reasonably late on and got a dodgy penalty. However, today still felt like a defeat to me. We failed to beat a team that I believe are inferior to us and that for me is the most frustrating thing.

I think the problem we have just now is Erahon has gone right off the boil. How Jim  cant see it baffles me our down turn in form started when he went off the boil JDH and Jamie Mcgrath needs someone who's going to Contribute we are basicly a man short there.

I think some fans have unrealistic expectations about saints, it all has to be put in comparison with previous seasons, we are playing the best football that I have seen in the last 5 years and can hold our own against any team in the league, what’s not enjoyable about that?

    Lots of slack passes today.
Most disappointed I've been with Fraser.  Not a good game from him.  Ethan could have gone off earlier.  Looked knackered and his passing was suffering from that, too.
Erwin today was maybe not as bad as i usually think he is.  He did hold the ball a few times -as Obika does.
It's the slipshod passing that creates problems for themselves that I find insufferable.

Draw was about all we deserved.
Slack passing all over the park today, as we were against Killie TBH.
Fortunate, to say the least, to get the penalty.
We're riding our luck right now, long may it continue.
