I couldn't give a monkeys if we double his wages  , it would be worth it considering the feel good factor that he has created in a short space of time. We probably should have offered him a new deal anyway on the back of the increased home gates and the early , 100%+ increase in ST sales !

I think we should actually wait to hear from Jack Ross before jumping to any conclusions or engaging in this type of discussion.
It wouldn't sit well with me if he decided to jump to an only slightly bigger club after being given assurances of staying in charge no matter which league we ended up in.  However, at the moment we don't have much more than paper talk to go on.
In short, the man deserves to have his voice heard before we entertain any more of your pish.

Even if Aberdeen release him there is a development fee involved like there was with McGinn.
However, we have some bargaining leeway with Aberdeen in the shape of Kenny McLean's 10% sell on clause.
In real terms Aberdeen will get £1m tops for Kenny if he moves on this summer. I'd quite like to see us going to Aberdeen and saying we'll waive the sell on percentage for Kenny if they waive the development fee for Cammy.

If Aberdeen release Cammy Smith then I would be quite confident he will sign a 1 year contract with the buds.

I think Jack Ross has built up a terrific relationship with a number of the players and they will feel a year at the buds could improve them and their careers.

There is something special slowly but surely building at St Mirren Park these days and I think a few of the players like O'Brien and Davis will really fancy being part of that next season.

Probably not a straight forward process as there might be a development fee required.
Plus, teams in the top league will surely be interested.
Would be a real coup if we could sign him, if Aberdeen release him.

Hopefully a fully fit Davis and McKenzie will be our central defensive partnership next season with young Jack as an able deputy.

St Mirren aim to sign former loanee Harry Davis on a permanent deal
St Mirren are in the hunt to tie former loanee Harry Davis down on a permanent contract.
ByCraig Ritchie 08:30, 18 MAY 2017 Sport   St Mirren's Harry Davis wheels away after giving the visitors a surprise lead against Celtic     Get daily updates directly to your inbox   The Englishman was a revelation in the heart of the Saints defence after signing on loan from League Two side Crewe Alexandra in January.
Davis formed a formidable partnership with Gary MacKenzie before a season-ending knee injury cut short his stint in March.
The 25-year-old has since been released by his parent side and St Mirren manager Jack Ross revealed that he has been in regular contact with the defender about the possibility in signing him up.
Ross is happy with how talks have progressed but admits there is still a way to go before anything is finalised.
He told Express Sport: “I’ve been in constant dialogue with Harry anyway since his injury because we have a close relationship. I would have done that regardless.
“I knew there was a chance that we could get him back up to St Mirren so these discussions have been ongoing.
“Do I think we have a realistic and fighting chance of bringing him back? Yes I do, but it is no more than that at the moment because he has got a lot of things to consider as well.
“Harry is somebody that won’t be fit until around about August but he will be fit, and he is a good enough player for me to wait until then.
“We would bring him into the set up right away, so I’m trying to push that one through.
“But it is a fine line between working hard and pestering, and I’m quite good at the pestering so I’ll keep working as hard as I can to convince guys that this is the right place for them to be.”
Davis made a massive impression on a leaky St Mirren defence in just nine appearances for the side.
And his knack of bagging a goal, of which he scored three, also made him a popular figure among the Paisley support.
He would score on his debut in a 2-2 draw with Dumbarton in January, while also put St Mirren ahead at Celtic Park with a goal in their Scottish Cup defeat at the hands of Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Ross admits he was delighted with the contribution the defender made in his brief spell at the club.
And, with Jack Baird already tied up for next season, the St Mirren manager is happy with the prospect of his defensive options.
He added: “Harry did really well, and I would also say Jack Baird did really well when he came in to replace him.
“Jack’s now signed up, so if I can get Gary MacKenzie and Harry to stay then we are strong in that area.”

Previously the club has had open days in pre season which have been a success, but due to the bond that has developed between the players and the fans an end of season one(next weekend preferably) would be a great idea.
It is mainly for us as a support to say thank you to the players & management for the effort they put in to turn this season around, (not to celebrate avoiding relegation).
I know the POTY awards is next weekend but hopefully the club could arrange something for us lesser mortals.

I see McAllister as being more like Ryan Fraser than Fraser Fyvie in that he'll go and graft and try and take advantage of opportunities rather than thinking he's made it. And if that means going on loan I think that will help him.

Would be fine with a lot of that money going on bonus. I still think financially we'll be in a very positive position next year and would be happy with the bonuses being replicate with an 'achieve promotion' bonus. As said above McLean and McGinn likely to move on as well will be more funds and higher and anticipated crowds.

As for the players being loaned back, it's difficult to know at this stage but I think the only potential would be if Magennis went and he's still got 2 years to run anyway. Can't wait to secure Championship status and see what contract talks are opened up. I think the priority is tying Irvine, McKenzie Eck down and seeing about realism in Smith, Loy coming back. O'Brien I would sign but we also need to bring in an experienced goalkeeper to challenge him. Stelios I believe has a year option which will be triggered if we stay up.

Lovely words and i can assure you they will be appreciated in the Magennis household. To have a family member pulling on the jersey every week fills us all with pride and the lovely thing about Kyle is that he is so level headed and will never be a billy big time(his big brother would not allow it).Hopefully Kyle will be part of the championship winning team next season. That really would be the dogs danglies.

Amazing that in spite of the horror show of a season, we've really got a lot of good strong options for POTY.
For me, it's a tough call to make but I'm inclined to say Stephen McGinn. Despite being here half a season he has been the beating heart of this side. He sums up St Mirren FC for me and is just wonderful to watch. He is so good he makes folk who play around him better for being in the same team as him. That's what real leaders do.
The YPOTY is a tough one to call. My initial instinct is to say Morgan or Mallan (is Stevie still young? I'm kidding, I know he is but he's been there forever), but for me, I can pinpoint one lad coming on and making me feel in our darkest hour and a half, that things might just be alright.
Kyle Magennis coming on at half time against Morton on that horrendous night in Cappielow, replacing a Billy big baws with zero footballing ability in Kyle Hutton... a man who picked the ball up in the middle of the park at one point and literally flapped his arms like a doo as he didn't know what to do with it and in that moment, shut the door on his career with us... then this raw 18 year old strolls on at HT, does nothing fancy but everything correct, keeps everything simple and plays his way into Hutton's place. At that point I thought that with lads like him and Morgan in the team, maybe things will not be so shite all season.
Magennis and McAllister coming in sort of set a precursor to what Jack wanted to do in January and the lad is playing like he's been there for years. Comfortable in the middle or the right, he's been an unsung hero and chipped in with some big goals into the bargain. Had Kyle McAllister stayed, this vote might have gone elsewhere as I genuinely struggle to think of a young player at St Mirren who has been more exciting than McAllister, but rest assured, the less lauded Kyle (naw, no Hutton) is going to go on and have a cracking career.
