Thank you to everyone that got involved yesterday. Tam McGarry applause was well observed, even the Morton fans joined in. Fair play to them
Received lots of good feedback about the flags and singing, good to have an atmosphere in the ground.

Louise79 reacted to div in The Tam McGarry Young Player of the Year Award
For the past 13 years we have awarded our Player of the Year trophy at the end of every season. It's an award completely voted for by the fans and it's always been very popular and we hope it's one that is coveted by the players.
Starting from this season we have decided to launch a Young Player of the Year award to go alongside this and we are this very proud to announce that this will be named in memory of Saints fan Tam McGarry who sadly passed away this summer.
The naming of the award seems fitting given that Tam's son Steven came up through the ranks of the St.Mirren Youth setup, with his crowning moment in the stripes coming in that quite unforgettable season of 99-00.
Tam was one of the biggest Saints fans you could ever hope to meet, and again this award will be voted for by the fans toward the end of the current campaign and every year after that going forward.
Speaking to Steven this morning about our idea he said, "I think that would be very nice and very fitting, and as a family would be very proud that he would have an award named after him so thanks. We also appreciate all the support from all the fans over the last few weeks we have been all taken aback with all the message pictures and stories."
So there you go, the Tam McGarry Young Player of the Year Award is here. Let's hope the young guns come up trumps and give us plenty of options this season!

Phone St Mirren Park and ask for him.
If not available, leave your contact details for him to get in touch.
Tell whoever you speak to that it is urgent.
Or if you're passing, go in and see him.
If Tony is anything like Brian Caldwell, your problem will be solved immediately.

    Good Afternoon
I feel I need to contact you to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with your ticket office.
I am a season ticket holder of more than 30 years, a founder member of both the new supporters' club and the fan buyout, and a purchaser of a car park pass each season since the stadium move. Additionally I attend several hospitality events as well as fundraising dinners.
Last summer, my 9 year old daughter expressed an interest in coming to some games. Having renewed my own season ticket online I came down to the ticket office and purchased a free s/t for her.
This summer,I again renewed mine online. I couldn't make it to the ground until today due to work commitments and the fact I don't live locally (Dumbarton).
I was informed that her ticket would now be £90 as I'd renewed mine online. I pointed out the fact I couldn't make it down before but they were not for budging. They quoted terms and conditions on the website, and said I could have phoned in for it. When I pointed out the website didn't say this, one of the ladies swore at me under her breath and the other shouted at me from the other till position.
I offered to cancel my season ticket and renew again but was told "no" again.
Their only suggestion was for me to move to the south stand which is not possible as I sit with friends in the main stand padded seats.
My now 10 y/o daughter is extremely disappointed as am I, especially given the financial support I have given the club over the years.
I would be interested to find out how serious you are about trying to gain new young supporters and your thoughts on how your most loyal supporters are treated.
I look forward to hearing from you.
    Email sent today. Not happy.

I'm really sorry for your loss, Ian.
A noble and classy final gesture from Tam as well, I always feel it's the least one can do to give others a chance at life as a lasting and meaningful legacy.
Like the sadly missed Toshie and Kilted bud, everyone knew Tam even if it was only to exchange pleasantries or in passing. One of those guys at the fitba who was just a really good character.

I remember Tam from going to Mechelen but didn't properly meet him until after beating Falkirk at Love Street in April 2000. Had many a good blether & laugh with him since then.
Last year at the friendly away to Sheffield Wednesday & stood at the bar having a pint with him rather than watch Saints get tanked 5-0. We talked about all sorts of nonsense and it was a right laugh.
A great guy and very, very sad news. Thoughts are with Steven & the rest of the family.

If i was Shankland, and i'm not being biased as a saints fan, then i would sign for St Mirren. The guy is well liked, getting a game every week and starting to score goals. At Aberdeen his chances will be limited. I'd also like to see how fit Alex Rae could get him during the close season.

Was speaking to someone who knows him very well and they said he is very happy at St Mirren and would be open to staying. I hope we can offer him something to persuade him to stay, obviously this all depends on Aberdeen not seeing him in their plans, which i think is more than likely.

When we beat Sevco in the last game Rae will be celebrating the win with us
I'm happy for the manager to enjoy his spare time as he wishes.
He is our manager, he has got off to a good start and will enjoy St Mirren wins as much as us.

This is getting beyond a fuking joke. How many times have we seen ourselves or seen pictures of ex Saints employees attending Saints games after they have left. Maxwell at Fir Park , Charlie Adam a few times and Basher all spring to mind instantly. They are all lauded for it yet a current employee is being criticized for doing the exact same. Get a life ffs and stop this moronic hypocritical witch hunt.
