Great to get a result, horrific performance by the fakes but that has to be the worst performance by a referee I have seen in a while. Fair enough there weren't many major calls to make but got nearly every other decision wrong and just think VAR wouldn't have made a difference to any of them. Should be reported for incompetence along with the linesmen. Think the refs sponsors should be trying to terminate their contract for tarnishing their name.

Agreed Ricky, if my sums are right and we better St Johnstone’s result we are safe.

After todays very good performance and win we surely need to keep this going and go out and win the game.

WSW supporter here, thought i'd pop in and give a little run down on Keanu Baccus.
Baccus is a very respected player within the Wanderers fanbase, earning himself the nickname "Parklea Messi", having amassed over 110 appearances across 6 seasons (usually a 26/27 game season). He has scored 6 goals and provided 10 assists across his senior career, mostly playing as a central defensive midfielder. Earlier in his career, he would play at right back, and at times over the last 2 seasons, he would be deployed as an attacking midfielder. This season he has performed well alongside midfield partner and former England international Jack Rodwell.
    Pros:
    - Very hard working, doesn't stop running for 90 minutes.
    - Young leader.
    - Physical player despite his skinnier build, breaks up play well.
    - Probably his best attribute, always looks to advance the ball forward.
    - Decent long balls, for example (go to 2:29 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phOeSq3EIa8).
    - Decent long shots, think 4 of his 6 goals are from outside the box, for example, here are 2 against Melbourne Victory and Newcastle Jets (1:27 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaoaA8FOOE0&t=22s) (1:50 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PivHLZIa9p4&t=95s).
    - Quite creative. Has a very nice through ball, see his assists against Leeds United and Adelaide for example (3:58 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYZM5j8maRw) (0:50 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IANz5wMP_AQ&t=25s).
    Cons:
    - Sometimes loses the ball in dangerous areas of the pitch. Hasn't happened as much if at all from memory this season, used to happen a fair bit.
    - Will occasionally give away some really cheap, silly fouls in bad areas of the pitch.
    - Not the best with his back to goal, this contributes to him losing the ball in bad areas and exposes the team to counter attacks.
    - Not the best aerially, however did score a header in a recent "Sydney Derby" (3:11 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3akmhG2iqY).
Summary: Overall, he is a really solid young player with a lot of potential, still a fair bit to improve on. Hoping he is able to show his class to the Black and White Army, and that he continues to develop into a top player. Will be keeping a close eye on how he and St Mirren perform this upcoming season, might even have to get myself a Baccus St Mirren jersey.

I used to berate Erwin and thought he was beyond rubbish.
However, Main is on a whole new level of shiteness. I mean really, how can he possibly be drawing a wage in the Scottish Premiership. He has no discernible skill or ability whatsoever. He can’t even do the basics. I honestly wouldn’t give him a game in a league two.
It’s one thing that we’re lumbered with him for the time being, but it’s another thing actually playing the c**t at all, let alone for 90 minutes.
After a promising start, Greive hasn’t really done much, but if nothing else at least he’s a nuisance. How can Main possibly start ahead of him.
    It’s f**king mind boggling.

Really had to laugh yesterday, I sit in M7 and even before I took my seat I realised there were lots of new faces (Rangers Fans), funnier even was the two strong northern Irish accents querying which pie to buy at the catering then looking at their tickets to navigate to their seats [emoji28]

It got even better when my son saw his Rangers supporting friend from his running club. In fairness I never spotted one bit of bother inside and outside of the stadium yesterday.

There was never 6,500 in our stadium yesterday!!

    Morecambe fan here!
As you can imagine, a great many of us south of the border are keeping a bit of an eye on what's going on at St Mirren. There is a certain element of schadenfreude about the situation - although to be clear this is directed entirely at Robinson and O'Carroll, and not at St Mirren fans!
For the lowdown on Robinson with us - he came in at quite a difficult time. He only had three contracted players and essentially had to build a large amount of the squad from scratch. Not to mention he was starting a month behind most clubs due our play-off campaign.
He recruited some decent players but there were unfortunately a couple of pretty key gaps - a big aerial centre back, a defensive midfielder and our goalkeepers were very poor.
Started the season well, I think largely due to 'good vibes' following promotion and Cole Stockton being ridiculously good, but then around November/December the weaknesses began to catch up with us and our form and results took an absolute nosedive.
Robinson generally blamed personnel (although he did admit responsibility for this in his recruitment) and in fairness to him, he wasn't wrong. Anthony O'Connor has been a good signing at the back but his centre back partners were incredible weak, and he had goalkeepers underperforming behind him. I thought the set-up of the team overall was good and we pressed very smartly and efficiently, but every time the opposition got into our final third it was always incredibly dangerous.
Come January, Robinson absolutely sorted those problems out. Got a good keeper in Trevor Carson, a couple of good centre backs and a defensive midfielder to be used when called for. Suddenly, we looked far stronger as a team and even our attacking productivity even improved as well - guessing this was partly due to them having more confidence in our defence. Also helped that our two best attacking midfielders managed to shake off some injury troubles.
Got a couple of great wins in January, and performances continued to be at a high standard into February. Despite results not going our way, a lot of this was due to bad luck, some bizarre circumstances and good goalkeeping/bad finishing. I'd cautiously predict that if Robinson had stayed, results would have started to turn in our favour a bit more often as the performances were there.
So the irony is, he left just as he was beginning to sort things out and find a bit of a groove. Now he appears to be back at square one with St Mirren, albeit with a vastly higher salary! I'd say he is a good manager and worth giving time to, but results have gone to pot particularly drastically which is quite alarming. Not sure he's got much of a leg to stand on if you get relegated - although I'm not sure how likely this is as I'm not too clued up on the teams around you etc.
Oh and an Obika update! He's just been incredibly unfortunate. Got a massive hamstring injury in pre-season which kept him out until the end of December, and then understandably took time to find a bit of mojo again. He's also playing second fiddle to Stockton, who is absolutely undroppable and has been incredible this season with 21 league goals.

Can't help but feel sorry for you guys that you've got such a clown as a manager. Everybody at Morecambe is delighted he's gone as without doubt he talks a good game but the results on the field show a complete lack of any responsibility for the failings in his tactical approach which is laughable. He blamed everybody at our club and it appears he's doing the same with your squad.
How on earth any team can perform when the manager blames them all for not being up to it is ridiculous?
I genuinely hope that by some miracle your results never mind performances improve as you deserve a lot better than a clown at the helm.
Whatever your BoD were thinking when they decided he was for you and even agreed a fee for his services needs some serious questions to be asked to their competence.  However the same could and has been said of our Board who like yourselves have been hoodwinked by his slick talk and convincing demeanour.
Wishing you all the best for the rest the season.....

Got to say that was probably one my best saints games (atmosphere wise), I truly thought it was going to be our night, whilst we may have given Hearts a bit of a ‘bloody nose’ we fell short on the night.

Cannot fault us for effort but a few observations as follows:-

    1) unless injured why did we take Gogic off - I thought he was immense. We would be doing well if we could get him for next season.

    2) Some very lucky team is going to get Connor Ronan next year - wish the boy all the luck in the world - he’s been brilliant for us - I must have watched that strike about 100 times since - an absolute cannon of a strike. First senior cap beckons surely?

    3) Hearts a bit lucky with first and third goals, we could maybe have done more for the third (and fourth). Was tiredness after Wednesday a factor?

    4) Our support - phenomenal. Don’t know if it was the Saturday night, the lights, the stadium but what a backing the team was given.

Let’s hope our season doesn’t fizzle out - so much to play for and be positive about.

I agree that overall we matched Hearts in most respects.
It was great to see the ball played along the ground and the inter-passing and movement were good.
Where we differed from Hearts was down the flanks, especially the left flank (Jones has his fans and detractors and I fall into the area of not convinced as yet- he can score the odd goal, but he is a bit predictable in how he tries to get to the goal line), but also we miss players with an eye for goal. We have lacked that all season, especially a front runner with the ability to stick the ball in the net. Yes, Brophy's goal was clever and good and everything has been said about Ronan's, but we miss a poacher. It has been our failing for at least 4 or 5 years.
That having been said we are virtually safe and we could (with a wee bit of luck) finish in the top 6, tho' our three last games before the break are tough, especially the last one with the Blue ones determined to run it all the way to the end with the Glasgow cousins, so I won't predict 9 points out of 9, but 6 would be a good target, and possible................. 4th place is I think beyond us however.
(P.S. On the subject of wingers, I really like Livingston's Forrest, fast tricky and he has a good shot on him, - I'd take him over Jones if I had a choice of either)

well there is a strong southerly wind forecast.
Anyhoo! the covid effects on the Hearts first team could be decisive, we should be using this as motivation as there is a real chance tomorrow.   They might have had more chances than us recently in Paisley, but we still had enough to win the game ourselves and even 1 goal would have put them under pressure.  They were better than us in some areas but hardly great, some players trapping a ball further than I could kick it.  Press hard & high, chances will come. We need to be competing early on and controlling the game by half time-even if it is negatively

We were second best today, even with 11 v 11. Thought the Greive pen claim was a good one but not a stonewaller. Most refs would’ve given it. Really like Greive’s movement and energy and he looks a great find but he does go down a bit easy at times, as do most players nowadays to be fair.
Ronan had no intent to catch the boy but it was a red and he’ll be a miss in the next couple of games. Hopefully Fraser doesn’t get done retrospectively for his challenge just before Ronan’s.
Not impressed with Robinson’s post match interview. Saying it was the ref that cost us today. We weren’t nearly good enough. Hearts bossed it from the start. Probably not fair to compare him to Goodwin, but one of Goodwin’s strengths was his honesty in interviews. Still pretty sure that Robinson will come good for us.
Also not impressed with the knuckle dragging Hearts fan on the way in today that called us ********s. They still have a bigot element with some of their support. Diet Rangers fans.
Hopefully we play better in the cup game. Definitely think Robinson and the boys will be fired up for it after today. Whatever happens, we’ll always have the fond memories of Obika night to cheer us up.
