Sadly we are just not good enough or smart enough for this league. Physically bullied off the ball, poor at defending set pieces, unable to create many meaningful opportunities to score and when we do seldom make the keeper work. Confidence l am sure plays a big part but too many of our players are inconsistent wrk in week out. We weren't terrible today and we worked hard, but coupled with poor refereeing were outfoxed by a poor Hamilton. Not expecting a happy Christmas in paisley this year and fear January will not bring us adequate relief

If we denied a move until January, Sunderland wouldn't have hung around and said that's fine, they would have just found someone else to fill the spot. On the other side Sammy would have missed out on a big opportunity and that could have left us with a very unhappy goalie.

I know you’re only at the wind up, but I suspect that we’ll all get to see pretty soon how important Sammy was to us.

Can see this both ways. Leaves us short but if you are Sammy and have the chance to join an up and coming management team on the rise, you are going to take it.
Stay and his career will peter out after this season, so wish him well.
Jack Ross, what a guy. Only hope he remembers his own words and helps us in the future.

Not a great game, I'm afraid. Plenty of effort from both sides, but it was clear that their league positions have left them bereft of confidence. Too many passes went astray.
Couldn't see the penalty because the guy in front of me stood up at the vital moment, but Jackson's dive in the second half makes you wonder about the earlier effort. If he is a diver, we don't want him. Also thought P. McGinn and Erhahon had a difficult time. Felt sorry for Erhahon - young lad, still learning the game.
Plus points for us were the performance of S. McGinn when he came on and the 90 minutes for Magennis. Thought it was a risk to put him on from the start after such a long absence, but it paid off with a fine return to action. He was behind many of the good things we did.
Players definitely trying hard but not sure how we get the confidence back. Without that we're unlikely to get the results we need to move away from the bottom of the table.

I can understand supporters on here being exercised about Killie's second goal and our disallowed goal, but refs and linesmen (assistant refs, for the younger generation) sometimes make poor or wrong decisions, as we all know. Perhaps it was just our turn to be on the wrong end of them. Nothing to do with political affiliations, I'm sure. In any case, no amount of complaining is going to change a result which is already in the record books.
I think we should concentrate on the improvement in the team's general performance, which was considerable. So, let's get behind our new manager as he tries to improve the team further and move on to the next game, against St. Johnstone. We can reasonably expect to take something from this game if we play as we did for most of the game on Saturday.

WC.  (Apt Initials some might think) did what a number of referees don't do and that was to listen to his assistant referees.  Having watched the TV footage, the first incident is still not clear to me.  I have to believe that the main stand side assistant referee made an honest call and leave it at that.  The second incident where we had a goal disallowed was,  I think, a mistake by the assistant referee on the West Stand side who called offside.  This one might come down to an interpretation of the rule.  Tough,  but we need to take heart from our performance and move on.

If he’s such a good referee then why did he not restart the game with a stoat up - sorry, dropped ball - after stopping the game while we were in possession of the ball

Too much of a show off for me Shull. Loves to dish out cards for dissent to show how hard and important he is and his wee chats to the players go on way too long. Willie needs to realise he isn't the reason the fans turn up.

Very disappointing first half. It was as clear as day that Gray was being given too much space. I was saying this and had just mentioned he needed watching at the back post when he scored,..... at the back post. Second half saw a complete turnaround in performance. I thought young MacPherson was out of his depth and should have been subbed. How wrong was I? He had a superb last 35 minutes.
Jackson looked good but not yet up to speed.  Jamieson looks a prospect. Speedy and never gave the defenders a minutes peace when he came on.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Flynn as a MotM performance. I thought he was fantastic throughout.
the second half has given small shoots but there is a long way to go.

The new guy has been in the job for only a few days so let's cut him some slack. Back in 2015/16 JR didn't repair our inadequacies within his first few weeks in the manager's office  !!!
OK has been handed a Stubbs-created pig's ear with the remit to convert it into a silk purse. Tommy Cooper couldn't magic us up a winning team in such a short time. Oran's challenge is to rebuild a team (undo the damage done by Stubbs) in time to salvage our season and fend off relegation. Slowly and surely, rebuilding confidence, healing the dressing room schism (if it ever existed), establishing our strengths and eliminating our defensive frailties, recognising what is missing and identifying talent that can be brought in (in January if necessary), and establish a winning mentality.
A tough ask. Not an overnight proposition.

That was a day to forget. Players didn’t look interested. Went through the motions and gone was the fought and determination from last week. Make no mistake this Hamilton team will e in the bottom two and were nervous at the start yet we handed them a victory. It’s clear Stubbs has been absolutely hopeless in the transfer market and we will need a massive January to survive- yet it should also be said Mullen, Flynn and Kirkpatrick look like they are struggling to make the grade in Scotland’s top division. We need to cling on in there until January where it looks like another massive turnover of players will be the only thing that saves us. I listened to Tony Fitzpatrick two weeks ago say that we had a four year plan but jack Ross swept us up in 18 months and now we as a club are playing catch up? Sorry Tony but that is shit how are Livingston with 700 season ticket holders managing to do things we can frankly only dream of. The board must be holding their heads at allowing Stubbs to take a wrecking ball to our hopes. Hamilton also less than 1000 home fans yet the absolutely pump us. Yet we back the team with over 3.5 books sold and this is what we get. It’s not Oran’s fault but the board need to accept they are responsible for some of this too. Stubbs might be gone but the problems remain. Fingers crossed Oran has a bit of magic up hos sleeve . P. S I was v proud of our team last Friday night but today that was absolutely unacceptable

Poor showing. Midfield missing or over run. Unable to handle the drive and power of the Hamilton runners.  Toothless up front but little service. Bad day at the office.

As mentioned by someone above, OK has had another week to get his ideas and plans across to the players. Ferdinand has also had a week to form a partnership with Baird, so I expect a disciplined and organised performance in defence, although I also note what others have said about the plastic pitch. As for the result, we'll need to find someone to put the ball in the net. I'd start with Mullen and Smith who never give less than 100% and had chances last week. I'd keep the big Dane in reserve for later in the game and bring him on to offer something different in attack. Like others, I think it will be tight. A win would be great but this is a game that we mustn't lose! Keeping in mind that Accies get pretty poor crowds, a big travelling support might make the difference.

Why do some fans not just realise that the club is on the up. We have gone the same route as many successful teams and hired technical support for the manager. Let the manager manage the team let the manager train the team but have someone else do all the other stuff. I personally think that the club have went with someone they believe will be loyal to the club and after all the crap reported by Chris Sutton and the press we now need stability which I believe in the new manager and team we have. Friday night proved we are hopefully heading in the right direction. Welcome back Gus

Yep. I think we can do it. It will be hard fought but I'm going for 2-0.

Winning our first two home games of the season against our likely rivals will be a very good start to the league season.
