I'm just not sure that 5 minute appearances are getting the best out of him....good ploy to day to see if shorter time would be better but I think
that's been proved wrong now and we should maybe look at playing him more......crazy but just worth a go

Never gave the guy a chance. Bad move now we are reliant on the youngsters.
You can't expect a player out for a year to come in and perform straight away. 5-10 games in a row and we would have seen the best of him. Problem was straight after his red at hibs lot of our fans got on his back.

I thought he was outstanding again today. He really is the best centre half at the club in a long time. He's been out for almost 2 years with two horrendous knee injuries and has bounced back quicker and stronger than before he picked up any of these injuries.
When is his contract up? Give him another!

Were you at the game yesterday?!
If it wasn't or Cheesy we would have been beaten by more. He came across to tidy up after grainger many times. One one occasion his saving tackle was world class.
If you work down the list of all the players and none of them are playing particularly well, you would be near the bottom before his name came up

That is my team to get us out of this mess. We need workers and that is the hardest working 11. I would prefer not to play someone in front of the back four but our defence is so fragile it is required. If the defence was better I would have Bahoken up front with Thommo and Gowser playing just behind where he plays best.

I haven't been up for a game as much as this since the final.

I'm getting sick of the constant berating of a young keeper who seems to be one of several popular scapegoats on here, (probably second to Danny). The man is not getting the protection he deserves from the 10 players in front of him. I'd especially lay that blame on our centre pairing of McAusland and Goodwin who just don't work well together.
Looks at tonight's stats as an example. Queen of the South had 14 attempts at goal, 9 of which were on target. Should a Premier League goalkeeper be exposed to that much pressure from a lower division club? I don't think so.
According to the BBC report, the second goal cam about "when (goalkeeper) Antell's long punt was misjudged by St Mirren skipper Jim Goodwin, opening the space for Paton to steer a clever lob beyond the stranded Cornell."
I think Cornell has a bright future, but he'll be no good to us if the fans put further dents in his confidence, which must already be low when he watches what happens in front of him every week.

Imrie could be right, but would perhaps be better served into looking after his own career first, I would think!
