braidmeister reacted to leolovesstmfc in The Alex Rae And David Farrell Appreciation Thread
It was only Alloa but had Ian Murray been our manager do you think we would have won?
Well done Alex surpassed Ian Murray in less than 24 hours two upfront who scored!
A clean sheet!
But best result today was the fact that I came away today looking forward to the Livi game as opposed to scared of it.

braidmeister reacted to TopCat in James Marwood Away - Official
Good. He was terrible, one of the worst forwards we've had in recent years, and that's saying something.
He was the senior signing upfront this season. He's 24 years old and had scored goals at a decent enough level last season. We really needed him to step up and perform and he didn't. Plenty of game time; zero goals, zero assists.

It's a bit rich asking him to break down his figure after that load of waffle and conjecture.

braidmeister reacted to Drew in Mcgregor Signs For Sevco - Confirmed
I referred to mediocrity on a more general level in the context of the money that sevco is pissing away on distinctly ordinary players. If reports of up to 5 or 6K are remotely accurate, then I am afraid that I would be looking for a player of a higher standard than Darren. -
braidmeister reacted to Dibbles old paperboy in Mcgregor Signs For Sevco - Confirmed
Madness on Sevco's part to be paying out £200k per year in wages in the Championship to Darren who is a bottom 6 SPL standard centre half and increasing that to £300k if they make it to the SPL. Happy enough for Darren is he goes on to earn £500k in 2 seasons with them, who can blame him for accepting a deal like that?
Can't see him being good enough to play in the starting XI of a team finishing in the top 2 in the SPL and playing in Europe.
All in all if this is true it shows Rangers have learned nothing from the Murray, Whyte and Green eras and look set to keep on paying way over the odds for players who are not good enough to meet their fans' expectations and will continue to massively overspend beyond their means.

Isma, Higdon and Broadfoot would be marvellous, never going to happen though sadly.

braidmeister reacted to beyond our ken in John Collins
and you know this from your close association with him over many years?
Collins has some fire and ambition, he has surely learnt a lot from his stint at Hibs. It may not be the worst suggestion by a long way

braidmeister reacted to Qarsaan in St Mirren V Dundee Utd, 26Th Dec 2013
My first game for far too long.
I thought thr Goodwin change was a great idea -the United gamesmanship was embarassing and disgraceful. The red card that was given was just, a split second later/earlier would have been a broken leg,
4-1 may sound a slaughter. It wasn't. Just a good win to the team who wanted to win more then the other lot did. Well done Saints. A giid day out.
Roll on sunday.

Well done Danny he got everything 100% correct.
Correct team correct tactics getting Goodwin and Thommo in about them from the start and knocking them off their stride. High risk as I was certain that we would get a red card. However Danny took the correct action in removing the ghost from the action

braidmeister reacted to JM1 in Gowser Assaults Tony Fitzpatrick
He's acted like a dick and will be punished - it's fair enough really.
If he was a rubbish player, I'd want him out the club, but he's a good player so I want him to stay.

braidmeister got a reaction from bluto in Buddie Arrested For Free Speech!
In answer to your question I would say yes. I believe you should be able to say what you like where you like short of making threats or inciting violence. If Rangers fans want to sing the Billy Boys let them. If Celtic Fans want to sing songs Glorifying the IRA let them. As a human being I have the power to ignore anything said or shouted I don't agree with. For the record I don't agree with what the gentleman on this occasion shouted and I wouldn't go to a football match to make a statement like this myself. I just find it abhorrent that a man was taken to the brink of criminalisation for speaking a sentence like this.

So your saying the crowd at a football match collectively decides the things that can and cant be spoken about at the game? How does this work then?

I totally agree with your point about what was shouted being an bit embarrassing. Totally agree with the smart arse thing. The thing that riles me about this situation is the fact the gentleman was removed from the stadium and arrested. Why? The law that he was deemed to have broken is an ass. The way it is being interpreted by some coppers is pathetic. The question I ask is why should you not be free to make a political statement in a football ground?

braidmeister reacted to Isle Of Bute Saint in Danny Says No More Signings
Close season don’t you just love it. Here we have an understudy goalkeeper from a premiership club who all of a sudden is terrible. Personally I don’t buy that give the lad time to settle which also means the fans support as the last thing we need is fans on the guy’s back. You don’t get to his level by being a bad goalie. Anyone remember Samson against Hibs ?
