This back four will give me nightmares. There's no communication between them, their offside line runs diagonal. As well as them being easily dominated in the air.
McMullan looks alright, otherwise nothing to shout about

Can't believe I'm agreeing with TopCat...
I really hope Bradford are more than a cut above what we will play against this season, otherwise I expect another disappointing season.
I'd like us to play with a bit more urgency, playing short passes around at the back has a time and place. We should try and actually hit teams on the break, instead of letting them get numbers behind the ball.

Did Haining actually ever get sent off for us.
My main memories is him playing a blinder at Fir Park where I think we drew 1-1. As he made sure the ball ended up as far away from our goal as possible any time it came near him.
There's too much fondness for McGregor. If he didn't have slightly more pace than we're used too, his mistakes would have been more noticeable.

I'm astonished so many of our fans think Goodwin had a good season.
For me he was an absolute liability, right from the very first game of the season when he stupidly got himself sent off. That was arguably as well as I saw us play all season and he completely screwed it up for us with a moment of utter stupidity.
He managed to get retrospectively suspended for elbowing a Dundee Utd player. We were 3-0 down at the time and that cost us his services for a further 3 games.
Granted once he came back he screwed the nut and wasn't bad but for me he is distinctly average at Centre Half. His best position was in the holding midfield role and frankly most games passed him by this season on the rare occasion he did manage to get a game in there.
His season was summed up for me in the Ross County game where he cost us all three goals and also played a big part in the red card as it was him who played the County player onside. Watch this again closely and see for yourself;

As a cup winning captain I'll always respect Jim Goodwin, but his time at the club is up IMO.

In all seriousness, if Goodwin was your best player, there is something seriously wrong, because he is f'in honking! I'd struggle to name another player so unaware of his position on the park. In the middle of the park he'd go jumping into challenges, leaving gaps behind him. At centre half he'd just f**k off for a wee wander leaving his partner up shit creek.

Goodwin should get a two minute sub appearance to bid him farewell. Cup winning captain, otherwise total liability.
Our fans do love someone who chases the ball a lot no matter what gaps it leaves.
He done his job for a while, but lack of positional discipline and intelligence means he isn't cut out for the game in any of the top two divisions.

I can't for a minute understand why people will keep Goodwin whilst everyone else is chucked in the fire....
An ageing player, who doesn't have a position, and causes us far more problems than resolves them, especially defensively. Well worth getting paid stupid amounts. I'll happily wave my arms around and point at others for my mistakes for a £1 a week.
Would I keep any of our players? No. Will we? Undoubtedly some will stay. We need an entire turn around squad wise, it's stale and incredibly shit, our youth products haven't displayed enough technique or athleticism to handle competitive football.
However what we need will cause us real problems, I doubt anyone in world football could mold an entire team into something that resembles a football team. Hell we've been waiting on that all season, with players that have already been around.

You are wrong FS. When we were fighting promotion you tend to get the gates we get now , that being home gates anything from 3,000 to 3,500. However mid table going nowhere our gates were down to the hard core around 2,000.
I consider myself one of the hard core. If there is no appointment of a manager before season tickets go on sale then I wont be buying one and there seems to be quite a few others ( hard core ) who are not replacing season tickets. For me it will come down to who the manager will be.
There is a real reality check here because we all know the way the club is run. There is no extra cash apart from gate money. If gates fall and they will then that will lead to a poor team on the park. The board have their work cut out.

If Goodwin was immense at the back, I'd love to hear what people have to say about McAusland?
He deserves much more credit.
