Along the theme of silly friendlies / challenge matches , think it might be quite a good idea to suggest to Coventry City that they might want to play the second Leg of the British Cup thing , that we played the first Leg of 1987 ( Might need to establish first whether or not away goals count double )

I,m looking forward to seeing a new look Saint team battle to try and keep us up , With Thompson back and Genev,s height I feel we can be very threatening at set pieces , when you consider we will have Cheesey , Jason Naismith and Goody also up for set pieces and Gow and Mallan both hit not a bad dead ball .
Also feel , there is a bit of fight in the team now and they are certainly up for the challenge .
I think if we make the play offs , we should have a bit of confidence about us and I would fancy our chances .
interesting to see if Thistle become part of the dogfight.

Check out energy savings trust , they may have grants / interest free loans , for anything that saves energy , I managed to get an interest free loan over 8 years for solar panals and double glazing , and also £400 scrappage towards a new gas boiler . probably recommend a Worcester bosch bolier , but don,t be shy getting a few people round to give you a price , well worth a wee phone call to phone the energy saving trust , as there might be new initiatives out in the new financial year.

Can recommend Paul McLanachan (PM Gas & Heating Services). Fitted a new Worcester Boiler, which needed some re-plumbing, removed the hot water tank, and raised the flue to current height standard, all for £1730 (got some cashback from some Energy Efficiency scheme on top of that). 5 Year Warranty on the boiler. Has done some other work for me since (replacing Gas Hob, fitting new radiators) and been happy each time with price and service. will PM with details.

Yes yesterday's results could have been better and yes we are bottom of the league and it could easily be doom and gloom but i I'm still looking forward to killie next week. Genev looked decent and a threat in the opposition box at set pieces, Gow had a decent start and should get better. Dayton is improving every week, Sandlier was impressive both wide and through the middle. Sanupe has looked ok in his small cameos. Tommo looked like his old self after he got his goal. Mcginn had a better game ladt week without still hitting the heights. We can win on Saturday

Lets not forget we have put together not a bad starting eleven , and if Thommo and Meatball can find there best form , we should be able to put a good run together , what we haven't had is a run of luck , no lucky goals , no dodgy penalties and no dodgy sending offs for the opposition , so assuming all things even out over the season , we should be okay.

Both our rivals got points yesterday but they are not world beaters. I know it is better to be lucky than good however at some point luck isn't enough. Motherwell were are home and playing against 10 men and only got a point and scored with a penalty. County we being overrun by Thistle when they managed to score with their first attack. Thistle were also reduced to 10 men but County had to hold on for their victory. If both had won a comfortable 3-0 then I would be more concerned.
Team wise we are now as good as both of our rivals. We have to play both of them twice. We have to hold our nerve and believe in victory and not give up before a ball is kicked. It is still in our hands and our last game has given me belief we have the players to do it. Get behind the players. Show them we believe we can stay up.

If we go down, we will deserve to go down. We have a new look to the team in comparison to Craig's joke of a squad. Dayton and Gow look like they can create and grab a few goals, if Teale can get the best from Gow( no easy task). Hopefully Genev will shore up the defence a bit, give us some much needed bite and grab goals from set pieces. Also think McGinn could be massive for us in the run in. If he gets back to his best, which he's starting to show signs of, he can boss midfields.
It's still in our hands and is going to be a big ask, but with a bit of fight, belief and luck we can get 10th spot. Pressure on us at Killie next week, but we train on astro regularly. Bit worried about Thommo and Viktor though. It's a tough game, but if we don't think we can win this game, then we should chuck in the towel now.
Hopefully during their two weeks off, Gary has got the team 'tight', with the new signings settled but more importantly, they are well pumped up for Saturday. Winnable games against County, Motherwell and possibly Partick will decide it, but we do need to keep in touch. We have now played the same number of games and know where we stand now, even if it is bottom. I'm bricking it already, but there's still some twists and turns ahead, but we're not down yet.

I would play him as a centre half in the development squad , just to see if can fit in there , he has the height and a bit of presence about him , so worth a try , just to see if it is worthwhile giving him another year

Experienced players starting to look up for a fight , Goodwin was excellent and I was a bit nervous when he seemed to pick up an injury , Genev settled in well and I hope he recovers soon from his injury , as these two along with Cheesy should give us a bit of solidness , and with Naismith and Tess should give us a decent defence.
Dayton and Gow both really got stuck in and seemed to be enjoying themselves in piss awful conditions , which is great to see . A great goal for Thommo , who led his line well .
Much more hopeful of us staying up , than I was this time last week , The whole team worked hard , McGinn beginning to look more like his old self , and Sadliar looking like he could develop into a right decent player .
Squad now looks far stronger than the squad at the beginning of the season

Griff reacted to Kombi Buddie in Tess Calls Paisley A Shithole
The town lost it's vibrancy years ago and the council seems hellbent on ensuring Paisley gets portrayed a shithole by their failure to change that.

Perhaps the club could arrange a walking tour for any keen football playing amateur photographers and encourage them to look up.
There are some beautiful buildings in Paisley, plenty to change a mind {about Paisley being a shithole} but unfortunately, there is not enough to convince a council that it is a town that deserves them doing their jobs by investing in or fighting for it.

If we'd signed him people would have said 'another striker who's washed up and doesn't score. 6 goals in his last 60 appearances etc....
In any case they have Sutton who is a handful, play him right, he'll score. Is there problem not the same as ours in keeping the ball out at the back?

Your great grandad is mentioned a few times in 'Marching On...', the history of St Mirren FC.
Signed from Renfrew Juniors in January 1925. Scored against Arbroath and Partick in the cup run. Had an operation on a perforated stomach in January 1927. Asked for a transfer after losing his place in the team on 8 October 1928, but it was turned down and he won his place back. Scored in the Scottish Cup semi defeat by Old club Rangers in 28/29. Was freed in 1930.
