We were absolutely devoid of ideas last night. Even before the sending off. Which I thought was worthy of at least a yellow and can forgive the ref for showing red as Conlan was never in control of his movement. He dived in. He did make a howler of a decision with the "goal" he unjustly chopped off though.
That aside, this was another poor showing and it would be a mistake to use the loss of a player as an excuse.
One plus could be that the manager now knows Goodies worth to the team and maybe, just maybe, he'll realise that Thommo is wasted as a lone striker.

Special mention for Goody tonight especially when we went down to 10 men. Hopefully he is now back in the team as his experience and attitude are sadly lacking with the midfielders around him.

Murray is not the only one trying to complete the squad. Even Man Utd and Chelsea are actively trying to recruit players. We have to be patient to get the right players in.

Tbf I think many have overreacted massively.
In our 3 competitive games so far, we;
- beat Berwick comfortably
- were a penalty miss away from sneaking a draw (or possibly even a win) at Ibrox
- narrowly lost to the team sitting joint top of the league who beat Hibs the week before
Can understand people getting nervous, but ffs - give the guy a chance to get it right.

The picture quality of the broadcast was very good - didn't get much of a chance to see if there was any build up and didn't hang around after the full time whistle. Looks like there was a recorded interview with Ian Murray at HT. Commentary was good - Tommy Turner ( i think it was he) was pretty good as the side-kick although some of the English maybe wasn't the best. "Ah've seen them given so ah huv" when Saints appealed for a penalty for handball.

Ridgers is not all that bad a goalkeeper, sure he has a way to go but the lad will get there, we have had worse goalkeepers over the years, but it will be no good for him or St.Mirren continually running him down. Another thing is the amount of bile posted on this site towards Cheesy contributed to his eventual departure it seems some on here want the same fate to happen to Ridgers, and then this would leave us with untried 19year old Dan Wilks.

I liked Newton but he was mainly honking in his second season with us and most folk thought he was only getting a game because of a clause in the loan deal. Would still give him a shot though after his performances in his first stint
