I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all to our new look website and give a huge thank you to all those who helped with the redesign of the site and in particular "Big Front Door" who were responsible for turning all the good ideas into reality.

For me this also represents a perfect opportunity to mark the beginning of a new era both on and off the park.

Our partnership with Smisa is in its earlier stages but I am very comfortable that we are heading in the right direction and that, together, we can create a successful fan ownership model over the next 10 years.

I am also very happy how quickly we have gelled as a board and while everybody is still finding their feet I know we will all have a very positive input in taking the club forward.

We have had the keys now for 2 months and feel that, although we are moving in the right direction behind the scenes, we were not progressing on the park or in terms of our communication with our support.

As a result of that and as part of our long term plan we decided to implement some major changes.

The decision to terminate the managers contract was not an easy one. Alex did a tremendous job last year but for some reason it was just not happening this year. People outwith the club and support will consider that we didn't give him enough time and I can understand that. Our job, however, is to do what's best for St Mirren Football Club.

However, at the risk of contradicting myself, I don't think it is any coincidence that the most successful managers are given time to get things right. That does not just require patience and support from the board but also from the stands. Our long term goal is to have a man at the helm who will have an input into all playing aspects of the club with the aim of producing a successful supply chain from the youth system to the first team. It is vital that our new manager buys into that philosophy as well as producing a product on the pitch that we can all enjoy watching.

We have also made the decision to employ a dedicated media manager. We feel that this is now a full time job and is a vital part of improving our communication levels and selling the services of the club going forward with the new website being key to achieving this.

I have stated from the beginning that we need to increase the turnover of the club so that we are competing with the top 6 clubs of the top flight and not flirting between the Premiership and the Championship.

This will not be easy by any manner of means and we are already £125k down on our income levels for next season due to the loss of the SPFL parachute payments. We also have a very financially beneficial agreement with JD sports that we need to make some tough decisions on.

In my previous role within the stadium construction project I promised that I would try and improve the disabled viewing facilities once we had the SPL compliant stadium that was our agreement with tesco. Unfortunately I left the club before I was able to make good on that promise so it has become a key part of my re-incarnation to fulfil that commitment with the new disabled platform in the main stand.

We are also investigating the viability of numerous projects that include the "Love Street Coffee Shop", an advertising board at the Paisley end corner that will be utilised to promote club services and home games as well as being a source of income, a memorial garden, office provision in one of the corners, and making the 1877 bar a standalone facility so it can be better utilised without the entire main stand being open. These things won't happen overnight and most need significant funding but rest assured we are working hard to take the club forward.
My aim is to provide regular updates for the supporters going forward. Please do also record any ideas or suggestions you have on our new "Suggestion Wall" here on the site. Your opinion really does matter.

Without the continued support of you, our loyal fans, and club sponsors none of this will be possible so we ask that you continue to support us in every way you can. We are in this together for the long haul!

The last thing we need is Fullarton. Bombed big time at Notts County..Ignoring fatty's ramblings about Hughes reign at Hibs, Yogi knows this league very well by virtue of the fact he along with Coyle won the title with Falkirk. Won a Scottish Cup on a shoestring with ICT to boot. No compo to be paid as he is out of work. Whats not to like? Yogi for me. And spare me all the crap about McPherson. That for me is a backward step.

Never nice to hear someone has lost their job but they weren't up to the task and we're taking us backwards.
Unfortunately I don't believe there was any chance of them rescuing our season and we were (and still are) in real danger of relegation.
We need someone to come in and turn things round quickly as we have an extremely tough run of league games against Falkirk, Hibs, Dundee United and Morton around the corner.
First up is Dunfermline which we can't afford to lose and looking at the following games we probably need to win.
First big decision by GLS and the right one IMO
Second decision is the appointment which we need to nail.

I have to say I'm not sorry. Didn't want him appointed but I admitted he consolidated well and ground out some results to save us from Murray's debacle, but this season has been hellish, repeating the same errors over and over. On the match day thread when the team was announced several posters (I remember top cat and myself and several others) were amazed at Langford being 1st choice, a flat 4 in midfield with 2 wingers & Malian & Hutton central because it hadn't worked all season. So he had to go. If he'll come i'd like Yogi.

The marketing of St Mirren is so poor which why we have so little income for players compared to our rivals.I see this lack of any marketing awareness applies to the 1877 club as well!. I enjoyed my visit to the club but thought someone might have taken more than my name at the door so that they could contact me to see if I wanted to join the 1877 club, be put on a reserve list or obtain some feedback on the visit. All in all a good day until 3pm.

I got a letter from the club yesterday informing me that they are building a raised disabled platform in the Main Stand and therefore need to relocate some people with season tickets in the back four rows of sections M1 and M2 to a new row they have put in M4 in front of the press seats. I phoned up the ticket office today and they have moved the 4 of us who sit in row K together along to the new row in M4.
I had heard talk of a disabled platfrom being installed but didnt know it had been confirmed and would be going in the main stand, was this common knowledge?

The question for Scott and the BOD is now simply how many more of these performances they're going to take.

It's the same every game. 5 league games, 5 horrific performances, 0 wins and 2 points. Both points coming from late equalisers and we have been utterly outplayed and humped in the 3 defeats.

I think it's clear now Rae won't turn it around. So, how many more of these shambolic performances will we have to sit through before they act? 1? 3? 10?

Everyone seemed to blame the old BOD for all our ills, well I don't recall us ever being bottom of the second tier in September under their watch. This is a new low in the modern era for St Mirren. This new BOD must act and must act quickly.

    Dumbarton or bust.

It's a results driven business, presently we are driving down south , Deep South.
Lets be honest, the writing was on the wall at the league cup stage, the meek surrender,  even at the pre real competition bit, the pish recruitment, the abrasive style of manager maybe not to everyone, or anyone's taste, now we have the latest reversal to a team that are well organised around a part time barman, f**k me !!
My kids are now pointing and laughing at the team they support ffs !
We need to stop this reversal now.
Step up Scott and Fitzpatrick, act now , get this shit sorted, somehow, NOW !! NOW !!! If it's a review, a method restructure, a sacking, I couldn't care, but we need a right good re assessment on the playing , managing , governance level and it should start  tomorrow morning. If the present powers that be cannot get this sorted, well, they maybe need an honest look at what they are contributing and what effect it's having.
    How difficult is it ????
Maybe we are just continually unlucky  Maybe we erm, don't like pressure.
Imho we have players who find playing for us a chore

Was talking about the very same thing today. The ball is treated like it's got f**king leprosy and people just don't want to take a touch and do some thing productive.

We had a free kick in the first half today and Mallan motioned to pass to Hutton, who was in acres of space, but he waved him off and Mallan scudded the ball out of the park instead.

    It's painful to watch.
