waldorf34 reacted to Albanian Buddy in The Mirren Mile
Surely in the age of digital signage and computer technology that should theoretically be easier than before?

waldorf34 reacted to pondsman in Saints v sevco Oct 6th
Let's not get carried away. Yes, the Ibrox lot played poorly last night, but the Limassol team played some slick football and thoroughly deserved to win.
This is St. Mirren we're talking about, and, as we all know, Buddies can very easily make an a**e of a good-looking prospect. No doubt the opposition will have a real go at us on Sunday to get their supporters back on side.
I'd take a draw right now. That would keep us 3 points ahead of the Ibrox crew, solidly in second place. More than that would be a real bonus.
So, COYS!!

Wake up call for the defence very poor tonight losing 4 goals in 45 mins

waldorf34 reacted to TPAFKA Jersey 2 in St. Mirren v Hearts 23/9
The one bit that I’m still not convinced about is the defence. Not from an individual ability perspective (they are all decent players), but more from an organisational point of view.
We’ve conceded 6 goals in our 5 league matches and to be honest, with the exception of the Aberdeen game, I think we’ve ridden our luck quite a lot and been saved by the fact that we’ve done so well at the other end of the park.
Hopefully we can sort that out.

Karaoke time when we pump them eh @TPAFKA Jersey 2???????
Usually a good match against the Jambos. Always a good atmosphere.
Another test for our team against a team likely to be in the top 4 and competing deep in the cups.
Would be good to see O’Hara back in for this game.

First time I’ve ever started a match thread. Wooohooo!
I am doing so because I’ve just bought my tickets and was surprised how few were available.
@W6er may want to consider one of his dot counts. Very impressive looking numbers with still over a week to go.

waldorf34 reacted to billyg in Kibble Hit The Headlines
“We believe we’ve done all we can to keep Stephen. We’ve backed him in the transfer window as much as we possibly could and he works very well with Jim Gillespie and Keith Lasley on the football board.
Hi Chris , just highlighting this quote from JN from last week , it seems that Kibble and the playing side are very much linked, I've also read that SR credits Gillespie with being "switched on" to what's needed to bring success. Sure , Kibble can't overstep the mark within the BOD, and if they have , it can't happen again , but , as I said before , we don't want to shoot ourselves in the foot , like we have done historically , when things are looking up on the pitch. This needs put to bed , quietly, so we can move on with what really matters , and some of the snipers on the fringes of the club need to get over their self-importance and remember it's not all about them !

Its primary existence is the young people, the fact that its employees can achieve a £230k annual Directors salary is just a bonus.

That’s an assumption that it has not. Protecting itself isn’t the same as saying ‘we can buy you out at the same cost at any time’
It wouldn’t be in the interest of the Kibble to agree to that. Like any business deal, there must have been negotiations & agreement.

waldorf34 got a reaction from BuddieinEK in Music
Being of a certain age ,my music tastes are rather old ,but the way the Saints are playing I would love to hear the Love affair song played after a win ,ie "bringing on back the good times"

Gavin Newlands MP , has addressed this earlier , and says they can do what they want down south , but it is a devolved issue up here , and won't be happening !

waldorf34 reacted to Smithers Jones in Livingston versus St Mirren
How we got anything from that is hilarious, but fair play to keep going. Kind of evens out last week, when we played so well and still only took a point. Well done Stav 👍

waldorf34 reacted to W6er in Livingston v St Mirren SPFL PREMIERSHIP 2/9/23
Ah, there are two match day threads! @shull's was the original one, so I think this is the one that should rightly be used. Plus it's free of all the tangential/irrelevant pish (that I was also complicit in - mea culpa).
I'm concerned about today. I think some folk are getting carried away, after having read folk suggesting we're due to give a team a pasting.
I would be happy with a draw.
1-1

waldorf34 reacted to billyg in Explosive Smisa application
Partly because AW used his unsuccessful attempt to become part of the Smisa board to to criticise Kibble on the Smisa website , his poor showing in the vote shows that most of the membership have no time for him . The longer this drags on , and the more the mud slinging goes on , then it's less likely AW will ever get his ban lifted , in my opinion of course !

waldorf34 reacted to beyond our ken in Explosive Smisa application
None of this looks very good, the governance structure seems not to have been respected and when individuals make an application on behalf of a body they are connected with, but not appointed to represent, then the suggestion (at least) is that some people on the board see their remit as unlimited and unrestricted. If any good comes out of this, it will be around the defining of exactly who has the right and permission to do exactly what.
As regards the orders made against SMISA, I wonder what they are. Possibly around public disclosure of things that might harm Kibble and that Kibble contest?
As I said at the very start, there is rarely anything so chaotic as a bunch of people using other people's money without any sense of accountability.

waldorf34 got a reaction from beyond our ken in St Mirren v Aberdeen SPFL Premiership 27/8/23
I was disappointed with the result, 3_1 was there for thre taking ,but once again we gone on the Defensive ,disrupt the back line and pay the consequences.
If we want to be a top 6 team we go on and finish when we are on top ,we have the players to do it ,but the manager dies not believe we are up for it.
We got away with it at Hibs ,but we cannot keep doing it
