saintnextlifetime
Danny has been talking about another striker coming in. I suppose it isn't out of the question that it could be Boyd.I'm not at all sure how I'd feel about Boyd joining us. If he was using the move as a shop window, and was therefore committed to performing, it could be a very good signing for us on a short term basis. If, however, he was simply looking for somewhere to hang his hat and kick his heels for a few months, I'd rather we didn't, thanks all the same. If he could come on get the result for us on Sunday, I'd be happy .It would be a great annoyance factor for the green vermin too. .

This isn't some past-it, has-been we're talking about - this is the SPL's all-time top goalscorer at the age of 29. This is a guy who scored more than Larsson in this league. If he wants to come and kick his heels in Paisley, I'll pick him up from the airport myself.

I've no idea if there is any substance to this rumour, but I equally don't have any idea what we'd be getting if Boyd did join us. I don't disagree that it is probably a chance worth taking, all other things being equal.... Edited January 22, 2013 by Drew

insaintee
What your talking about is taking on a player in the hopes that he can get you through one game. Hearts did that with Beatie (notice he really only played in the cups). How did that turn out?
insaintee
They've got a bill to pay or be served with a winding up order.... can't see them being allowed to spend.we should know today/tomorrow, would be coming off the bench on Sunday if it happens they have already spent this window. Guest somner9
they have already spent this window. Yes but it'd be a brave/stoopit chairman to fork out agin given they could be receiving a winding up petition by noon!
lovestreet
Deal for "Landmark" signing getting ever nearer.he would be straight in on Sunday and the shellic don't like him one little bit! Only till end of the season though as his aspirations lie in another league??? I could be wrong as I don't follow either of the ugly twins but did Boyd ever score against Celtic while with the team formally known as Rangers ? I seem to recall he struggled against them? Hambud
then jettisoned the injury prone liabilty His contract was up and as with everyone at Hearts who's contract was up he left, think Ian Black, think Skacel, think Beattie. Super_Saints
then jettisoned the injury prone liabilty Again it would be a 6 months contract and a dont see how ur comparison of Beattie would be a bad thing
NeilPar72
It's not a signing for a one off game. We are also still in the Scottish Cup, with a winnable home tie. So long as the signing does affect the performances of the living legend that is Sir Seven Thompson, and we can afford to do so. Surely it's worth the risk. Sunny Saint
Let's be honest, there's probably hee-haw chance of us signing Boyd. Great signing if it comes off but we've all seen this happen so many times before. I won't get my hopes up.
Tony A
Am I the only one not particularly fussed about Kris Boyd? I think he would just be using us as a way of keeping fit and playing matches until another club were able to take him on.
