billyg
Do we have a 1st Division forum for this nonsense? Em no , it called an "other football" forum and that's exactly where it's posted !
The Silent Majority
It was Gus who signed him for St. Mirren in the first place.
billyg
It was Gus who signed him for St. Mirren in the first place. Gus had never seen him play , he was signed on the say so of Andy Millen who knew him from his Clyde days. Well done Bairdy for getting it right up the clueless wee scrote ! djchapsticks
A player we should never have let go. He was always dangerous in the very few opportunities he was given with us.
St. Sid
A player we should never have let go. He was always dangerous in the very few opportunities he was given with us. Exactly....he was a player that would have been developed under a good manager like Danny Lennon. I remember him scoring a belter on his pre-season debut - think it was against the Bino's. Pretty sure Millen was playing that day and might even have got the assist for the goal although wee Bairdy sailed past a few tackles like Messi. lovestreet
Didn't he have to get out of town ? I thought that was the reason he left got into a spot of bother with the wrong people?

Chris
I don't think that's fair on Gus - I thought Baird was a bit of a favourite of his for a time and probably got more chances than he should have. He wasn't good enough for the SPL and still isn't. Couldn't argue with releasing him.
