faraway saint
Ah, Dooleys........a magical place which, as it was close to where I lived, I popped in regularly just to look and touch the nice shiney bikes.
ALBIONSAINT
Remember getting my tomahawk from Dooley’s. Had a wee book that my mother paid into over the year up until Christmas. Changed days indeed.

I think you mean under the La Scala. Next door to the cinema was the City Bakeries and if you walked through the shop you entered the tearoom. There were stairs leading down and that was the Cafe Riche (a part of the City Bakeries), a very popular town centre venue for wedding receptions and funeral teas. The bridal party and guests (and the mourners) all had to walk through the shop to get to the venue. You had to either get a moble bar in or do it yourself. As my Grampa had 5 daughters the family did it themselves. I was a waiter when still in Primary school.
