Cheers.

It's a 56 plate megane. If you've seen the top gear episode specifically about this issue, you'll know that the Kents at Renault are at it and its easier to get into Fort Knox. Would normally go to Geirge Wade but he doesn't work weekends.
faraway saint
You can just drop in but watch out, the cost of changing the bulbs is as much as the bulbs. You would need to be daft to get caught out like that.

alanmurray24
There are some cars that they dont fit too on the spot as they are to difficult. Work mate tried to get them to fit to a ford KA they refused. Worth checking online/store to save a wasted trip.

Drew
I had a Citroen C4 (coupe-style) that was also notoriously bad for changing headlamp bulbs. So much so, than when I took it to the local garage, after half an hour with wee mirrors on sticks etc., the mechanic threw in the towel. Eventually (and after some trawling of forums online) I opted to actually remove the entire headlamp units, stick them on the kitchen table, and do it that way. Less than an hour later, and BINGO! Job done. Worth considering as you'll save a few bob, and your car is less likely to get trashed by some spotty kid from Halfords. Typical nonsense French design! seems you do need to take the wheel off, but there's a nut in the hub that you need to take off, then get in about it under the bunnet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXCZ2v-nIF4 Edited August 30, 2013 by dave.j
madball
My old Mk4 Golf was a pig to change, could be done if you were double jointed and had the worlds smallest hands...me? I resorted to taking off the front bumper as that was easier.
exiledfan
I used them once when a bulb blew at 5 at night when dark. Cost about 17 quid for a bulb and to fit for an audi. Was not an easy bulb to change yourself so good value and saved me getting pulled by the police.

kevo_smfc
I wouldnt give halfords the miney anymore for maintenance. I worked it out myself after paying them to fit last time. They charged me an extra couple of quid on top of that as they said there was a 'loose wire'. A loose wire which could have been easily knocked out during his tampering about. flyingscot
Seriously? Yep. Look at the video Dave J posted! You need to take the wheel off to get access to the headlamps. Ridiculous design- took a Green Flag guy over 40 mins to change!
ds10
Worth considering as you'll save a few bob, and your car is less likely to get trashed by some spotty kid from Halfords. I'd not recommend Halfords either. I go bulbs changed there once, complete disaster, lasted about a week and the headlights have never been the same since. Now I go to the local garage, who charges about a fiver and is much more efficient.
jpg123
I got my megane bulbs changed by halfords a few years ago. U do not need to take wheel off. Just turn the wheel in to gain access. 55 plate.

shull
Cardonald Components, Paisley Road West change my headlamp bulbs. No charge for fitting, just the price of bulb, which is normally 6 quid, which includes my Taxi discount.
