I can't think of any that haven't had some disruption, other than emergency life or death interventions. A mate of mine who'd been battling cancer for 2 years was told to self isolate, all his consultations and treatments were stopped (they assumed the big C was under control) and was put on repeat prescriptions of morphine from March till the end of June, he eventually got an appointment in early July to see his specialist were he was told his body was now riddled with the cancer, he was told there's nothing further they could do and said he would be dead in a few months, he was gone within 3 weeks.... You can only imagine the countless families up and down the country who've went through this exact situation....

At the end of the day some people will just accept what they’re being told. As I said on another post, it’s what specialist are we supposed to listen to. Fact 1. More testing = more positive cases/false positives. Would you agree with that one? Fact 2. The death rate has fallen in Scotland at least to virtually feck all. Would you agree with that one? Second wave. Is that a fact that it’s going to happen? No, it’s not, it’s a prediction. No doubt come flu season it’ll somehow be rebranded as COVID part 2. You are entitled to believe what you want, listen to whichever specialist you want. Remember. Wear your mask, wash your hands and enjoy the rest of your evening. (mind and social distance) If you've done the research great, it didn't appear that way at all from the way you presented the questions. Anyone can have any view they want, it doesn't mean it's beyond challenge (both ways) I agree with both facts, I don't think it's the full story or the risk is low enough to get back to normal (far from it) I don't think anyone is claiming second wave in this country is absolute fact to happen. As for your comments on flu season being branded Covid part 2, that seems completely unfounded, counterproductive for any government to push a flu season as covid and extremely unlikely that would be the conclusion the experts would arrive at and advise the government. I think it's clear there is a lot of apathy from some regarding the approach taken by governments globally, that's fine. My view has been, remains and will continue to be a cautious one when it comes to protecting human life. 👍

It sure was mate, his partner thinks the morphine was masking his illness, it was only when he couldn't eat and lost the little weight he had left that the hospital decided to intervene, he completely lost the plot with his consultants when he was given the bad news, he let them know he blamed the lockdown for his situation, Spoke too him a couple of days before he died and all he was worried about was getting his brand new TV down to his granddaughters house incase his partner claimed it..😀, He was some boy.. Guest TPAFKATS
The relevant point is in the link I posted earlier in the thread that there was massive disruption, all non life threatening surgeries were stopped and for a period of time which is easing now the majority of general Dr appt were done over the phone. The original point stands, the majority of people needing medical treatment didn't receive it for a period of months. The first part is entirely correct. The second part isn't fully accurate. People who presented and required urgent treatment were seen.

I'm still waiting on an appointment for minor foot surgery, postponed in March because of fears of hospitals and staff being overwhelmed. again Postponed in June, promised for July and I’m still waiting... Guest TPAFKATS
What, like helmettrolls pal?I'm not saying everyone, I'll leave that to you.Generally speaking though people who required urgent treatment received treatment. We're mistakes made? Probably. Mistakes are made every day so I wouldn't expect them to stop happening during a pandemic. Will hindsight allow a different view on how things should have been done? Probably

Some people even allow a tradesman to do work in their houses without getting a full price first.
