Balmullo Bud Posted September 7, 2023 Report Posted September 7, 2023 He’s playing really well. Looks more than comfortable at international level and N.I.s biggest threat. Been a great signing for us so far. Quote
TPAFKA Jersey 2 Posted December 8, 2023 Report Posted December 8, 2023 This fella is fast becoming the exception to the idea that Robinson makes great signing decisions. We’ve all been saying he’s been off it for weeks, but for me on Tuesday he was one of, if not the worst of our players. He looked completely bereft of ability, energy (despite only playing 2/3 of the match) and more worryingly, interest. Needs properly benched for a while. The fact that we spent (by our standards) serious cash on him, just adds to the focus on him and consequently, expectations. Quote

He received great acclaim for his performance against Denmark. Quote

What was worse was that when Flynn got injured Robinson was screaming at him to get in quickly and stripped, McMenamin just strolled towards the dugout which resulted in more screaming from Robinson.....he then half-jogged and half-walked his way up the touchline looking like he couldn't be arsed. He received great acclaim for his performance against Denmark. I’m not sure what you mean by wrong side. We play him on the right which could be considered the “wrong” side for a left footed player, but that is exactly where he’s played in most of his NI appearances and where he played with Glentoran. We also know that it is common for left footed players to play on the right and vice versa. As for the Denmark game, he played on the left, but only played for 12 minutes, so despite getting a good assist I’m struggling to see how he could’ve achieved “great acclaim”. Either way, on Wednesday night he played on both the right and the left for us and was equally shite in both positions. Edited December 8, 2023 by TPAFKA Jersey 2 Quote
alanb Posted July 3, 2024 Report Posted July 3, 2024 (edited) Out injured again Conor McMenamin to undergo surgery (stmirren.com) St Mirren Football Club can confirm that Conor McMenamin will undergo surgery for a patella tendon injury. A pre-existing injury, the 28-year-old played through the pain barrier last season but was eventually ruled out for a period with the injury. The Northern Ireland forward didn’t travel to our pre-season training camp in Spain after returning from international duty having suffering a reoccurrence of the injury. We wish Conor a full and speedy recovery. Edited July 3, 2024 by alanb Quote

beyond our ken Posted November 11, 2024 Report Posted November 11, 2024 I did worry a lot about his lack of meaningful contribution when he first joined and it has taken a while, but I am really happy to see the player he could be starting to come out. He looked well up for it and that outing just before yet another pointless international break is probably his best chance to make a big difference to our attack in the coming months. Quote

My opinion wouldn't really count though as it is all down to the club and the agents. We allegedly turned down a very good offer for CBM in the summer, so maybe the club are pricing high these days. Dare Posted November 11, 2024 Report Posted November 11, 2024 Always liked Conor McMenamin - one of the few players we have that can carry the ball and can take his man on and create something. Think we look a lot better balanced as a team with him on the right side. Played well on Saturday and hopefully kicks on now a gets an injury free run in the team. Quote
Smithers Jones Posted November 11, 2024 Report Posted November 11, 2024 I thought he was pretty ineffective last season and didn't really offer much. Great to see him, hopefully injury free now, looking more like the player we thought we might be getting. If he keeps performing like he did on Saturday he could play a massive part in where we finish this season. Quote

Edited July 7, 2023 by TPAFKA Jersey 2 Isn’t it amazing some peoples’ aptitude for not making it clear what point they are trying to make or what the f**k they are on about. Guy makes post a year ago about the form of a particular player. Strange wee man comes along a year later and quotes said posts because the player played well a year later. Absolutely clueless as to the point you are trying to make. What was the positive story a year ago that I was trying to put a negative spin on? Quote
