Although it’s in the Guardian I am not singling it out because of that. It’s actually in a few papers today. Now where to start with this….. As a keen hill walkers and member of mountaineering Scotland for decades, I have traveled with, shared Bothy's with, walked and climbed with many women. One of the greatest hill walkers I have ever met (completed all Munro's 3 times) and ran the Paisley hillwalking club was of the fairer sex (are you allowed to say that now?) During all those years I have never heard a man being anything but an equal to female walkers and climbers. When the weather comes in and the cloud base lowers and you are starting to sense that all might not be well, you will take advice from anyone! Gender doesn’t come into it. 
This article talks about “horror stories “ that women have experienced, I am sorry but since when does asking if you are lost a horror story? Although with a little digging you actually find out that it’s was someone on Facebook that told Mr Tiplady (such a condescending misogynistic name) about all these horror stories. Facebook is always the best place to go for all your objectivity and balanced research.

The steady increase in children's weight has resulted in donkey rides on many seaside beaches introducing a weight limit.

A set of scales is available  next to a sign stating the limit of 50kg, 8 stone, which is considerable IMO.

Already the blame is aimed at the food and drink companies, parents, seemingly, are blameless in this epidemic of overweight children.

C'mon the donkeys.

 

Some overweight children could miss out on seaside donkey rides under a new code banning riders over eight stone.

It also says donkeys must have at least one day off a week and a daily hour-long break in the early afternoon.

The code, drawn up by the British Equine Veterinary Association (Beva) and the Donkey Sanctuary, is voluntary.

However, owners who break it risk an improvement notice and subsequent prosecution under the Animal Welfare Act if action is not taken.

There are more than 900 working donkeys in the UK. The largest number, approximately 200, are in Blackpool.

They used a black actress to play the wicked witch in the movie version of Wicked. This, to me, marginalises all the green faced actors out there.

Disturbing insider claims have indicated that the wife and daughters of BBC commentator John Hunt murdered at their family home were gagged and bound before they were killed.

Police located the crossbow-wielding suspected killer of Carol Hunt, 61, and her daughters, Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, in an Enfield graveyard on Wednesday following a near day-long manhunt.
