It does give me a laugh though, all of you foaming at the mouth convinced I'm his alias! The joke truly is on all of you! I know of people who have attended St. Mirren Park who live in Australia and the United States of America but you and Faraway can't even manage to come to Paisley for a game from Stanely and Arbroath respectively! Or are you both the same person?! shull
When a person dumps St Mirren to support Celtic I would say that would be mildly irritating, nothing more. When Elvis dumps Celtic to support St Mirren, I would say that is fecking brilliant and magnificent, nothing less.
BigYardsAndBasher
So Stanley, you think I'm "deluded"? You might want to rethink your strategy given all of the recent publicity about people being abused for being "different". Edited April 29 by BigYardsAndBasher Stanley not "Stanely". BigYardsAndBasher
Also Stanley, I don't have time to read every thread on here so no, I don't know when you're coming up to Scotland for a match. Where are you going, Parkhead or Ibrox?

I know one guy who stopped being a Celtic supporter and started supporting St. Mirren simply because his best mate was a Saints fan and supporting St. Mirren he could go to the matches regularly. I also used to know a lovely guy who supported St. Mirren but started supporting Celtic. He lost touch with his Saints supporting friends which I thought was a shame. I guess he made new friends within the Celtic community.

Unsurprisingly they became staunch again and resurrected their blue noses in 1986.
pondsman
Opened this thread this morning to give a few thoughts about yesterday's game, only to find two pages of 'fans' insulting each other. Is that what this forum is really for? If so, it's very sad. Anyway, I will persevere. A good performance from the Buddies yesterday. Excellent goal from Mandron, but the game might have been very different if he'd been able to put away either, or both, of his earlier chances. We really need a striker with more quality, though I know they're difficult, almost impossible, to find for clubs with our budget. Despite all their possession Rangers struggled to break us down and were fortunate to win, I thought. Hemming's mistake gave them the first goal and I thought that Bolton was pushed before Dessers scored the second. Did anyone else think that? TV pictures last night seemed inconclusive. Unlike others, I wouldn't let Hemmings go in the summer. He's produced a number of excellent saves for us over the season. As so often this season, Gogic was magnificent, easily the best player on the field. Listened to Dundee v Celtic on the way home. Thought Dundee, like us, put in a very decent performance, so next week could be a cracker of a game if both teams perform to that standard. Last time we went to Dens we got well and truly humped, so we owe them one. COYS!! Edited April 29 by pondsman

I'd be happy for him to stay as a back-up to a more experienced keeper. If Carson could have kept control of his emotions last year then we wouldn't have looked at Hemmings I don't know when Urminsky will be ready to really push for a start, so maybe the aspiration for next season is to sign someone currently at Carson's level as first choice and give Zak another year
Swiss_Saint
He isn't even out player, he's on loan isn't he so his home club may not want to loan him to us anyway. He's a decent keeper, not as good as some we have had but we have been spoilt in that dept. If he stays he will get better and if he doesn't then I am sure Robbo will have someone in mind. Urminsky, what is happening there, he's been here for a while now, he's a big lad and looks the part just a pity he hasn't stepped up so far. If there was an award in a season for the best save from a player (other than the goalie) Alex would have won it hands down yesterday for his efforts in stopping the Lawrance shot on goal when it was 2-1. Yes in the end it didn't matter to the result , but it showed several distinguished attributes that he brings to the field. Honesty, never accept that a cause is lost, determination, example to others and probably most of all, bloody mindedness! If you look at any replay you can see him sprinting back from the Rangers half with the attack a good 20 yards ahead of him. he continues his run even though it looks as though his only hope is that Hemming will pull off a Butland type save and keep the score at 2-1. But no, Lawrence's shot beats our goalie but who has now aught up with the play and diverts the shot through very nifty and well-timed footwark to send it for a corner. It was Bl**dy magnificent and typified his approach to every game. I bet Hibs rue the day they failed to see his true potential and sold him. I’d go along with that. First goal was avoidable, second unfortunate. Butland pulled off a wonder save and Gogic burst a gut to clear off the line. A draw would have been fairer. I’ve got my Dundee ticket. I reckon it could be a goal fest but as long as it’s a Saints win I don’t care. Lose it and Euro footy starts to disappear (this season anyway). I’m not sure of the chronology here but I think he was there when Jack Ross was Hibs Boss. I think he fell out of favour after that. That’s how I remember it.
