It's good to see Jack going for players who are hungry with a thing to prove. We are giving young players a platform and it's working. I like the managers philosophy and hopefully it will see us promoted. 

All the "shite tournament"..."waste of time" comments will change to "looking for 4 seats on a bus" If we draw one of the Orish/Welsh teams away.
Final was a great day out.

Sky sports reporting that we have KO'd two bids for Lewis Morgan.
I would hope Lewis stays with us another season or two in order to fine tune his incredible talent and ability.
He's going to be such an important player for us this coming season, and it's vital we do all we can to keep him at the club for at least another season.
Money talks but can we afford to lose Mallan and Morgan if we want to be challenging.

Just wondered what the chances were of the St Mirren Scoreboard being turned around during the week to face the traffic driving by the stadium. Could it be turned or could it be set up on something that would allow it to be movable. It could be used to advertise future saints fixtures, tickets, strips, corporate etc.
 
There must be thousands of people passing the stadium everyday. It's a fairly prime spot. Surely there would be demand to sell as advertising space to airlines etc.
 
It seems a waste that its only used for a few hours about 20-25 days a year.
 
It might not seem a great idea but if we could generate an extra few bob here and there at the club it all helps to what happens on the pitch.

Jack is so well thought of we have witnessed ourselves how he brings the best out the players and the fans. Welcome to Saints guys. 

Stenny fan said he was the best keeper in League One last season so sounds like a good bit of business. Wouldn't have a problem if he starts as number one.
If we sign another goalie I hope it's one who can provide competition so neither of them takes their place for granted.

No no no, this is not the St Mirren way.
Signing good young players in May? We are meant to wait till the end of July to save on wages, then sign injury prone duds that no-one else wants.
JR hasn't been paying attention to the great history of our club.

Stevie Mallan is such an exciting talent and for us to sell him to an English Championship side for a mere £200k is staggering. Rangers sold Lewis Mcleod for nearly a million and he barely played a game and all at a lower level and he is very average.
 
Surely with the talent he has shown in his few seasons at St Mirren he should be going for a minimum upfront fee of £500k. He has been puting in these performances, scored the goals and numerous assists all for a side that has been struggling each year with players of limited ability. Just look how influential he has been in a side in the last three months when playing alongside talented players.
 
I can't think of many other young players playing for a less fashionable club like us that is banging in such wonderful free kicks and assists week after week.
 
I appreciate he was always going to move on but for a mere £200k. Very disappointing stuff. I feel if this was Dundee United, Hamilton or Falkirk they would be getting anywhere between £500k and £1 million.
 
I wonder if Barnsley interest is real then it might alert other clubs and result in a bidding war that benefits both Mallan and St Mirren FC.
 
Just frustrated that we never seem to get the real going rate for our better players.

I' ve seen a pic on Twatter. Its definitely a full sized side drum (the type that is used on a standard kit by the looks of things).
I never thought I'd say it, but I fully support the campaign to allow the drum into the stadium. Anything to enhance the atmosphere just now has to get a thumbs up.

Why?
 
Because we had 2 directors who sat down with two fans reps to work out a long term strategy to best improve the atmosphere in the ground.
 
Who liased with the head steward and police controller to tell them how things were going to be, moving forward.
 
So much so that our singing section in the north stand was self policed in our last season in the old Championship l. Their presence was next to nonexistent.
 
Me and my mate were the go to fans, if there were any issues. And we addressed them directly with the fans involved.
 

because reserved seats are seen as sacrosanct even at the expense of creating an atmosphere of building the crowd by bringing friends along!
 
The fans are as bad as the club in sticking to their guns in a way that will always hold us back from initiatives to improve the attendance firstly, and as a result, atmosphere!
