Heard Erhahon will be moving down South. Super confident in own ability despite Barnsley experience. Too big for us. Hope not true as felt he has developed well this season. Would agree about most of the others if we can replace them with more consistent performers and more clinical strikers. Erwin has contributed much more recently to overall play but is employed to score goals as is Obika. We are over reliant on goals from midfield presently

Irvine welsh called it correct, Rangers with out the bigotry = Patrick Thistle. They were nothing until anti catholic feeling amongst ship yard workers united that hatred and joined them together to support Rangers against the catholic workers team, Celtic. Prior to that they weren’t a particularly big deal. For Rangers to say it has no place in their club is to deny their club.

Every time i hear it will be very difficult to replace this player etc. Not at our level, Durmus and Connolly are jobbing footballers, plenty of them around. Connolly is nowhere near good enough. Durmus was junk for a number of months early in the season but found form and contributed a lot. He is not irreplaceable though. Henderson looks like a player we can bring through, his end product is vastly better than Connolly and he will only improve. We need to improve in all areas of the squad because next season the Premiership will at its strongest for a number of years.

Such a nice big guy who always gave 100%.
    Just didn't score enough goals.
Will always be fondly remembered for relegating Hearts.

    Undefeated on plastic this season,
    Ref was shite,
Excellent goals scored by both teams,
Oh and finally, that turd called Hamilton has finally been flush away down to the championship

BTW, at no point did I think we were going to lose that game. Even at 2-0 and 3-2 down.
If we've learned one thing about this squad, it's that they don't f**king give up.
    Ever.
    Against any opposition.
    At any venue.
When that ball from Jay fell to Cammy, I was already cheering before he hit it.
Great to see Quaner get a goal as well.
Dylan was in great form when he came on but I notice he didn't try to take on their defence that much. His balls into the strikers were excellent.
Jay was fantastic again tonight, really getting stuck in. Wiped out Burke who is about 5 times his size.
No idea where Flynn was playing. Central defence?
Another tough night for Daniel but it's one of those positions where you're up against any skilful winger the opposition has and he gave everything despite being a bit exposed by our midfield. Those 2 games will be brilliant experience for him.
If we can sort out that midfield, I think we're going to be very strong next season.

The problem is our midfield is struggling to impose itself and our defence gets over-run.
Don't know if it's the formation or the players but that's been our problem all season.

Entertaining game, but by f**k, our defending gave me the fear; i lost count the number of times a killie player got in front of our defenders from crosses.

Cammy and Connolly made a big difference when they came on. Cammy being direct with some great passing and Dylan getting some decent and low crosses into the box. Hope he can teach his team mates that high crosses are pish.

By losing in two semis and not getting into the top six we have missed out on the big European money which will make st.johnstone and Livingston even stronger. We have well and truly blown it. Although scant consolation seventh place would get us some cash but Motherwell are better placed than us to get that . If I sound pissed off I really am

    Good post bud.
The problem for unionist parties is that the electorate in Scotland have clearly indicated a very strong preference for a 2nd referendum. Anyone who genuinely values democracy at all must acknowledge that. When unionists are having to count the seats of every other major party to come close to the SNP count so that they can claim a mandate for Indyref2 doesn't exist, it's a lost cause.
The problem isn't a lack of federalism. That ship has sailed. The problem is that the unionist parties are simply not listening to an electorate who have consistently voted in a majority of pro-independence parties for at least 10 years now. The result of that lack of respect is that there are only about 10 marginal seats in Scotland. The rest have SNP miles ahead. There is no prospect of overturning that anytime soon. To stand a remote chance of recovery, Labour should publicly admit that Scotland wants IndyRef2 and should fight to have that respected. No other plan will work.
The Lib Dems are now entirely dead up here. Only 4 seats and facing being removed from committees, FM questions, etc. That is what faces Labour if they don't start respecting the crystal clear democratic wishes of the nation.
I would rather IndyRef2 happened in a few years but I accept that the electorate have spoken. Labour won't respect that and are being crushed accordingly. This isn't rocket science.

I'm frustrated as the results come in.

Marginal swings are NOT enough! A fourth term under SNP is another step towards independence.

    I'm SO frustrated.
Still, we are fighting the wrong battle.

The ONLY chance Labour has of regaining power in Scotland, one which diminishes with every year that passes, is to regain votes from SNP... NOT by saying that independence is bad... But by taking the bull by the horns and openly stating that the current political system does not serve the people of Scotland. It is Londoncentric.

Not only does it NOT serve the people of Scotland; outwith London, it does not serve the people of the UK.

Labour has to promise the people that it will transform UK politics.

That it will fight to abolish the undemocratic, unelected House of Lords!

It will fight to give every region of the UK more autonomy. More control over their own local affairs backed up by the security of the unity!

Within Scotland, the needs of Glasgow, Dumfries and Stornaway are very different. They need local autonomy.

The wider UK is the same.

Give NE England an assembly. NW England too.
They suffer as much as Scotland. Rather than fight against them, recruit them!

Create a federal system in the UK that meets local needs by giving powers to local regions in support of local voters.

    The new message from Labour...

"People of Scotland... We are sorry. The current political system does NOT meet our needs. It does not meet YOUR needs...

We have spent too long fighting others within this unfit system at the expense of meeting your needs.

We now commit to fighting against the system... To reforming it in order to create a brand new political system throughout the UK that will see Scotland have full control over her own affairs, backed up by the security of a union fit for purpose to serve the people of the UK."

Local issues matter. Of course they do. But hands are tied as political parties continue to fight the wrong fight.

SNP will continue to gain votes and WILL gain independence within the next generation of voters unless voters are convinced that the political system can change and make their votes actually matter!

Right now, people of Scotland feel that the system is undemocratic as their vote matters not one iota. SNP know that and play on it. Rightly so.

Labour HAS to take that very same argument and use it for their own gain.

Opposition parties have to redefine the battle lines! Choose theit fight carefully.

I reckon they get one last chance at this! Listen to the voters. Fight their fight. Fight OUR fight.

Independence may NOT be the answer, but it will become an inevitable outcome if we do not get a viable alternative.

    Attack the system.
    Change the system.
Revolutionise politics to bring it out of the 18th century and make it fit for purpose.

Worth bearing in mind too, the winners of the Scottish cup this season are guaranteed European group stage football until Xmas and at least 8 games.
What's at stake here is seriously huge for every club remaining.

Oh, I meant to add. A much bigger problem is racism coming from the crowds.
That is much easier to identify and punish. Certainly no club found guilty of racism from the crowd should be allowed anywhere near European competition and there should be strict liability on that score. Same with sectarianism or coins/bottles etc thrown onto the pitch.

The boy McKay ran him ragged. Although that could be said about our midfield too when ICT ventured forward.
However, he was much better in the second half, most likely because we had by then reverted to a more stable flat back four.
Thought our defending of high balls was uncharacteristically very poor and a lot of our defensive problems stemmed from losing out to their attackers in the air. Both our CH's had an "off" night.
Alnwick, once again, was superb. POTY by an absolute mile. Not one of our outfield players has performed so consistently throughout the entire season so far. He's made a huge number of outstanding match winning saves.
