I think the most telling sight yesterday was the fact Lennon spent nearly all the game sitting in the dugout. he wasn't in his technical area trying to motivate. his starting line up was baffling (Teale at wing back?) and his substitutions lacked inspiration, and there was still the obligatory fannying about at the back. I really hoped that he would learn from his mistakes, but he appears incapable of doing that, and doesn't appear to be fighting for the chance to continue as manager. The general sense from yesterday was there was a lack of organisation and lack of confidence from the players as a result. The thing is, even though there is maybe a lack of balance to the squad, the players we have are capable of so much more, we just need a manager who can get the best out of them.

That was a poor Motherwell team we failed to compete against.

That what really annoyed me.
You could see Grainger and Harkins don't have the pace or energy to play in their postions today.
The first 2 subs should have been McGinn and McLean to replace these 2 at half time.
I thought the defence weren't that bad except Goodwin taking the ball in dangerous postions.
The midfield was a shambles with 2 men down right away on the left.
He brings on Caprice who is totally right footed and plays him on the left where is pace wouldn't be used.He ends swapping with Teale who had to switch after 10 mins.I didn't think the big boy was that bad and had a bit of movement about him and it showed when he came off as wee Thomas showed how he's a midfield player not a forward.I was disappointed in big Thommo as 3 great backpost crosses when in and he was on the penalty spot.But the manager has to go it showed today he takes forever to take off players who are clearly struggling.Playing players out of postion and creating imbalance in the team.Motherwell were rotten and looked too comfortable against us.
Fair play to their fans today who were a joy to watch and were better than anything that was on the pitch today.
The Polis were a bit heavy handed and i wonder if they will be the same when the green bhigots come to our ground

I feel bad for Newton, McGowan, and Goodwin. All played well.
The rest were mediocre with the exception of Grainger, Bahoken, & Harkins who were awful. Cornell won't do either, should have done better at the goal. They're all Danny's signings, not one of them good enough.

Absolutely , as were Thistle. We have beaten much better Motherwell teams in recent years than that one today !

Mair will have a point to prove, and hopefully we'll see him playing well if given the chance. I agree he's not our saviour, just another option in central defence, which is handy when those playing there aren't performing.

I do not think that others regard Mair as a returning hero.
Personally I do not see the sense on one of our best paid players and a central defender not even in the first team squad when the current first team central defenders are giving away goals like its Christmas. The return of Mair frankly could not be any worse than what we currently have and may put pressure on the incumbents to up their game.

I was on business in Caernarfon, North Wales a couple of years ago and had a Saints lapel badge on. A stocky little local taking part in a pub pool competition saw it and introduced himself as the landlord of a neighbouring pub. He was not only a Welsh fan of the Saints, but had everyone calling him Buddie - his real name had too many vowels for me to remember! He started following them in the Andy Dorman era. Ended up back at his pub for a lock in with the pool team and found the pub had several photos and a signed shirt on wall. Possibly our only Welsh speaking supporter?

It's sounds like we're going through the stages of bereavement together. You now appear to have entered acceptance. An acceptance that were poor, relegation shouldn't be that big a surprise, so chin up & get on with it. Why? We're an SPL team now. You get relegated then the ultimate goal is to be where we are right now. We had the foundations of a decent squad last season. I'm sure I wasn't alone in thinking were a couple of players away from climbing the table and having a decent league campaign.
As contracts were being terminated I was beginning to think Danny's got a master plan. He must have better players in mind, especially with the extra cash he'll have from the cup win. After all the anticipation what happened; the square root of f**k all.
It's the self destruction I'm finding hard to accept.

That's a good analogy BoWsaint. There's always an exception though. Occasionally you'll encounter a monkey that's really stupid. No matter how many times that monkey gets sprayed with water, it just keeps trying, and failing, to climb the stairs.

Points are far more important IMO. If we're half way through the season and well clear of Hearts we can accept (occasionally) good performances with no points.

I know you're having a light hearted dig Drew. But honestly, its a bit of comedy from shull. It's in terms from a bygone era, in reference to a bygone era, its done to make folk laugh. If Murray Street is too young, or too naive to understand the woosh factor, then he shouldn't feel qualified enough to comment.
He probably thinks the woosh factor should be hosted by Louis Walsh! It's a gag from shull, take it in the spirit it was it was intended. There's enough conflict without going looking for it.
