Transfer Values

Recommended Posts

The issue is simple, why would anyone pay 1 million for any Saints player when they can buy the whole the whole club for one and a half or thereabouts, then pick up the best players for an undisclosed fee of pennies to cover the admin of the transfer.

Ask mike Ashley that question

You can't own or have any link to two clubs above a certain percentage

St Mirren's in-demand midfielder John McGinn has refused to rule out signing a new contract with the Buddies. (Scottish Sun) Anybuddie read this? Being diplomatic?

Yeah I read this. I think that it's his way of saying that he'll sign the best deal on the table. I don't think our deal will be the best on offer.

I know that, but you can still buy the club via someone you trust, eg Gold and Sullivan at West Ham could easily use someone like Karen Brady to do this

An interesting example of precisely this MAY well have occurred this a.m.

The interest held in Sevco by Laxey Holdings(partners?) have been sold.

It could be to Ashley.... Though some sources are suggesting it's those three Berrz.

Laxey have failed , it seems to me, to have exploited the property sell-off which would have been their main aim. And they've exited, fingers burnt.

Are the Three Berrz friends of Ashley? Has someone else bought the shares (and WHY?!)

Buying shares puts nowt into the "club", so why would the Three Berrz waste (about 1/3) of their dosh if it doesn't help their "club"?

This may be a daft question but if we signed players with potential the dundee utd way on ling term deals. Would the value of the club rise as the players value would then be attached to the club as an asset? The reason i ask is that if for talking sake mallan ends up being a star in the making and is valued at £3mil and is tied down on a 4 year deal then would the club not be valued higher?

Fee's go through old boy networks. Weir pays over the odds for useless injury prone duffer from old club, Souness did the same. Our problem is we don't have those connections. Dundee United had virtually the whole of the SMM telling us Gauld was messi in disguise and that Robertson was the new Cafu. And Strachen was happy to 's play the game and give them caps y. (although our international full back options are so shite Robertson probably is the best we could play there, it's him or wallace FFS ).

We've got Chick Young telling every one that John and Kenny are really good.

Teale might be a good call as manager if he get better money for our players.

Think it's all about supply and demand really.

The left back position is one which is notoriously hard to fill.

This is why Andrew Robertson and now Hendrie seem to have attracted such "big" money. This probably holds fast to a certain extent with other "specialist" positions.

As good as McLean and McGinn are, in my opinion, maybe they don't have a clearly defined role in the eyes of the big clubs and there are others who are just that bit better in a specific midfield role, so there's a bigger choice and less need to shell out such large fees.

Also, if we want to go way back, some of the transfer fees we received for the likes of David Winnie ,Brian Hamilton and Ian Cameron, were magnificent returns for slightly better than average players

Aye, financial madness.

And probably David Longwell's fault, too.

Indeed. He is the one who should be blamed.

More than 10 years in charge and we've had nothing back on transfer fees.

We have a side packed with his youth players and they are second bottom of a league with Hearts, Rangers & Hibs.

He can't even come up with a striker or a centre half, the really key positions.

Our youth system over the past decade has been a complete disaster.

We need to get shot of Longwell and all his coaches.

ASAP!

Jeezo..... for the umpteenth time
