Looks like injury played a major part in his release from Sunderland. Played 40 games for Blyth last season, so looks like his injury has cleared up. Decent left backs are difficult to find, so fingers crossed that the drop down in level has allowed him to rebuild his career and play at a higher level. Seems that it was a double cruciate ligament injury on the same knee that has hampered his career. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/sunderland-afc/sunderland-old-boy-puts-nightmare-behind-him-for-fa-cup-dream-1-6941025 Edited July 6, 2015 by FTOF

Stevie88
Jim McAlister was hoping to get a deal with us Motherwell or Kilmarnock as he has a house in Uddingston . However not keen to drop down a league so suppose that's us out but you never know. His agent had a heated argument with the Dundee American owner . Jim does not want to sit down to do a deal with the Dundee owner so is looking for a club. Jim lives in Ralston. He has quite a few offers at the minute as well as a 2 year deal on the table with Dundee. No chance he will sign for us.

No chance he will sign for us.Can assure he does not live in Ralston unless he is telling porkie pies. He was visiting his parents in Rothesay last week can't think why he would make that story up. Iamhammer
Yep pay for newspapers are finished. I haven't bought one for about ten years and I never will again. Don't really know of anyone under 30 who regularly buys a paper. Why read day old news and a couple of people's opinions for a fee... When you can read up to the date news and hundreds of opinions for free? Even if some of the opinions are faraway saints, it's still far better value... Because some of these opinions are from you ? Stevie88
Pretty sure he is a member of Ralston GC Yes he is mate. His wife just gave birth to a wee girl in the early hours of this morning so he hasn't travelled with Dundee to their pre season training. He has offers from Motherwell, Killie and St. Johnstone. Over his time there he improved to be a fairly steady if unspectacular player before injury. He reckoned that Kevin Ball would have released him anyway regardless of the injury. Isle Of Bute Saint
Have we decided yet where Jim McAlister lives?in a house with his wife and kid in Ralston , however I will leave that up to Stuart Dickson to whether that is Paisley or Glasgow. What is correct is that he will not sign on again for Dundee.
