Flareybob
Is this St Mirren's worst start to a season in the First Division/Championship campaign? I can't recall us only having 6 points from the opening 8 matches in the seasons we have been out of the Premier League/SPFL/SPL, which include seasons 1992/93 to 1999/00, and 2001/02 to 2005/06. Yup - although we came close in 2003/04 when we had 7 points and were in 8th place after 8 games. http://www.statto.com/football/teams/st-mirren/2003-2004/table/2003-10-04 Edited September 28, 2015 by Bud the Baker

scottd
We had 6 points from 8 games in 1995-96, with the exact same record as we have now. Game 9 was a victory though.
dr rotund
Ok worst start since whenever, will that matter if we finish in the top 4 by May?
beyond our ken
Ok worst start since whenever, will that matter if we finish in the top 4 by May? the chances of top 4 are seriously hampered by the start we have had. It would be nice, but naive, to think we could recover the ground lost already, I'm afraid. A good run (if it happens) could see us claw that back. Every team will have a good and bad run this season.
proudtobeabuddy
If we can stop losing at home then it's obvious that we will climb the table because we're not too bad away from home.
Irate-Pirate
The worst start ever was when we were pumped 7-0 by Raith Rovers on the opening day.
bluto
The worst start ever was when we were pumped 7-0 by Raith Rovers on the opening day.You missed two of the bits that ranks it right down there.A. It was Saints first match in that diddy league, after relegation. B. It was aw the way through THERE! The weather was fine, mind ye. I had several beers in Lawn Street when we got back, stunned and unbelieving...

Sweeper07
Next few games are crucial, will see us either sit mid table or in the relegation mix come the end of season At least this is an honest assessment. Where we are now is way beyond disappointing. Managers in similar positions in THE LEAGUE ABOVE have gone at Dundee Utd and Motherwell. Nevertheless, lots of new players can take time to gel. But did any of us thing that we should not be comfortably beating most teams in this league? And we have only managed to beat QOS. Poor poor show so far. If we lose to Alloa heads should roll. And we still need goals,, a better midfield, a tighter defence and a winning mentality.
Sweeper07
The majority of the Fans, on here, have plenty goodwill and stacks of support and belief for our Club. A very small minority, on the other hand .................... So we have played all the teams in our new lower division. Managed to beat 1 out of 9 of them. 20 points off the top and only 3 off the bottom. Fans pay good money and none of us want our beloved team to be at this standard. No excuses, budget, forming a new team or the usual crap. If we cannot win the next 2 matches Murray & spaldo MUST GO. A new management team need time to plan for new players in the January transfer window.
