BanburyBud reacted to Ronnie in St Mirren V Ross County 27/2/2021
Going to be Difficult Partick Thistle weren't the first to lose all 5 post-split games and our only chance of points is Livingston and Aberdeen. Think Motherwell are safe from the drop now too. Yeah think he thought he might get slaughtered after what he said (or didn't say about Taylor and Murphy) so got in first to cover his as*.
IMO anywhere else on the pitch that is a free kick he clips his ankle.
I reserve the right to change my mind after BBC Alba and trial by Sportscene. -

If you can't be good be lucky. Perfect analogy today. Guts got us through as we are running on vapours imo. Huge result in the circumstances and given us a huge chance of at least top 6. Superb defensively again despite having about 3 in game reshuffles. Alnwick also excellent. A massive improvement all round this season and long may it continue.

Great result from what was always going to be a tough game, given our injury problems and the games we've had to play in February. Soft penalty, but them's the breaks and we've been on the wrong end of similar awards in our time.
Main competitor now for top 6 is St. Johnstone. They have an easier run to 33 games than Dundee United. Need a win v Accies, I think, to be sure of getting there.
Another great performance from McGrath. He's become really important for us. Also, Alnwick, Fraser and Doyle-Hayes were good today. Credit to the others for sticking to the task when they must have been really tired.

I agree mate that performances have been dire. But, realistically, I can’t think of any of the teams we have played recently have been any less dire and I would imagine there have been a lot of games that have been similar in standard to ours.

Well you should know if you've been injured it can take a while to get fit and then match fit. And most strikers fire better all round when the confidence is high.... Lee is no world beater, but he may well yet show us all he is a decent striker - I do hope so !

A good result which I think we ultimately deserved, albeit with a penalty. Hughes can whine as much as he likes but it was a clumsy tackle! We showed a lot more patience and control, especially second half. Much more enjoyable than Wednesday and still have top six in our own hands. If we could just find that final ball we could be out of sight. The loss of Dennis and Brophy is proving to be costly on that front. Lots of endeavour and some good movement off the ball, I felt. Contrary to other opinions I thought Doyle-Hayes was composed, broke up play well and brought others into the game.
happy with three points today 👍🏻

That was tough to watch. Absolutely no creativity or even basic ball control. The three central midfielders were playing far too close together and stifling each other. Fraser solid as a rock and we seemed to have a little spark when Connolly came on, albeit for ten minutes! The only saving grace is Motherwell have gained no ground on us.
Goodwin likes the sound of his own voice in the press and talking the talk about all sorts of things. I think he should concentrate on walking the walk with his own team.

A point is a point but the last two games were missed opportunities to cement a top six place.
We have certainly come a long way but I feel we just lack that wee bit of composure on the ball and you can see we are missing key players.
Obika, Alnwick and Fraser top players today.

Have a great weekend Buds. Off to multi task - watching the Liverpool derby and stare at our league position.

I stand corrected.
I know from EK that there are good signings at that level and a lot of ambitious clubs... I'm just surprised McShane isn't playing Championship or above. -

Don't think we could score even if there was a barrel of fanny's other than St mirren on the park.

BanburyBud reacted to BuddieinEK in Does The Club Need Fresh Investment?
Was the business club a Saints initiative or a request by our primary sponsors who benefit from similar arrangements at Motherwell and Hamilton where they also invest?
You make some great points Kevo but I truly believe we are falling way short of our potential.
Other clubs may have bigger background teams... But why can't we tap into our fanbase to increase ours?
I'm certain many a fan would give up their time and probably their right arm too, to serve the club.
The BoD may only have been in place for three years but commercially, we have been stale for a helluva lot longer than that. -

Actually, fair point. I didn’t realise your post was in response to a Baird comment.
In my defence I’ve been drinking since about 9 this morning, I am drunk atm and just seen something which in my mind was silly without checking the full picture.
On the plus side, it’s good being drunk atm considering that f**king result.
