Centre half's are over-rated. We've been a top flight club for years without any. No idea what the panic is about. Clean sheets are also over-rated. You get even better in play odds for the saints when we go one down.
    Right ok, time for bed.

    We will not be relegated.
    Keep on fighting.
We are not loads of points adrift at the bottom.

A season of firsts against brand new clubs. NYCFC, followed by our first ever game against the Rangers in the playoffs.

Looks like the link with Man City isn't dead after all. The big question is will The Sheikh be in attendance?
    Now there's a foreign owner I wouldn't mind ;)
2 mill Sheik Mansour, pocket money. Plaster the Etihad all over our strips and stadium (it's right beside the airport). You know it makes sense!

Apart from the snotters, the shite on Murray Street, the current strip, the defence, the strikers, the loanees, no manager, a derisory bid for McLean, a want-away BoD, the home form, the league table, out both cups, Campbell Kennedy's plans for the Aberdeen game, Thommo's injury, Brian Caldwell doing fcuk-all, no supporter's bar in the void, expensive pies, no DVZ or Basher on the HoF panels, no strips on sale in the club shop, and Willie Collum....
    Everything's good, right?

Rangers got almost £1m for Lewis McLeod because Brentford were willing to offer that for him and their assistant manager was no doubt happy to help his old club out financially. He has played less games for Scotland U21's than McLean but has been called up for the full squad and whereas McLean left Rangers youth squad to join us as he wasn't getting enough games McLeod progressed from the youth squads into the first team.
Ultimately if Fleetwood don't have any other clubs competing with them to sign McLean they can offer what they like and see if the BoD take what's offered, McLean could be tempted by increased wages, and who knows if this has had anything to do with his display on 1st January if he knew then Fleetwood were about to make an offer?

The first Killie oenalty was an absolute stonewaller. Their second one didn't look a penalty for me and there is zero chance that ours was.
Scandalous from McLean. His attitude was stinking the whole game. Berating team mates from the first whistle. The way he screamed at Ridgers and Naismith was bang out of order. He had no concentration and spent too much time moaning and screaming his head off. No idea if it was a justified red, it looked like handbags to me. But his hea was down from the first minute. Something wasn't right with him today.

McGinn showed a real lack of experience today in the second half. He cut inside and was fouled, stayed on his feet and hit the right footed shot off target. Had he went down it was a certain penalty.

All this blaming the ref and officials is a bid desperate, st.mirren played dreadful against a shite killie team, deserved absolutely nothing from that today.

Can I repeat my question from the game topic?
"What I don't understand is when 7 or 8 players jump over the advertising hoarding and towards the crowd that only one gets booked.
    Where's the logic in that?
Surely all of them should have been booked.
Can someone quote me the law that says that only the first guy over the hoarding gets booked?
Or is it the the guy who scored the goal is the only player able to be given a yellow card for going over the hoarding?
Does this mean if we score a goal that the goal scorer can wave every other player past him and over the hoarding and no one is given a yellow card?"

Yeah I read this. I think that it's his way of saying that he'll sign the best deal on the table. I don't think our deal will be the best on offer.

The McLeod fee, if accurate at one million, is an interesting benchmark on which to value other Scottish players for sure. I'm not sure how the McLeod valuation would actually affect any deal for McLean or McGinn. I cannot give it serious consideration at the moment as I'm still too busy pishing myself laughing at the Sevco being a selling club to the likes of Brentford. I'll get back to the task once my breeks are fresh & dry.

I don't think any games are 'critical' until we get to the split. As long as we are within 6 points of staying up with 5 games remaining, we have a chance.
To suggest we will be relegated before half the season is out is pretty out there stuff.

Most arrogant comment (yet) from Celtic tv is:
"I've seen McGinn a few times and I'm impressed - too good for a club like St mirren"
    (Or something along those lines)

Play McLean off Thommo. His best position in my opinion is further forward than we normally play him. I would use young Mallan to replace him. Mallon may not be ready for the first team yet but there is more merit in playing a very young player to gain experience than the likes of Ball, Reilly, Caldwell, or Marwood who have all had numerous chances and none have shown they have what it takes (I would tell them all to find a new club in January). Mallan to me has shown up better in midfield than Reilly has. At least he has a bit of dig about him.

I agree that an outsider is a must. The BoD would - IMO - be idiots to do anything otherwise with the managerial appointment. I've not been on the forum much recently but have to say that of the names touted, Ian Murray seems like the best of a bad bunch for me (assuming we can't get McCall or Butcher). We can't afford Billy Davies, no thanks to Calderwood and Shiels, and I'm not overly impressed by Barry Smith's record. Not much choice though!
The harsh reality is that we only have 4 players who I think are good enough to be at the club if we have any ambitions to progress as a club (Thommo, McLean, McGinn and Naismith). The rest are - in all honesty - not good enough and I wouldn't be concerned if any of them left.
Whoever the new boss is they need to go to B&Q, buy an axe, and use it ruthlessly.
