Magnificent applause and the singing of his name before the Match would be perfect.
He is most certainly a St Mirren Legend who has absolute dignity and oozes class.
THERE'S ONLY ONE DANNY LENNON !!!!

I think all League cup winners should get a good reception from our fans which so far they have. But sadly I think John Mcginn will get a cool reception on Saturday

All the best Marc you are afterall a Buddie who gave his heart for the club he loves.Yes he was not perfect but he is a solid fit pro who would have done fine for us this season along side Webster.Personally I sincerely hope he returns to my beloved Football Club in the future.Just my summing up of the guy and we are all entitled to our opinion.

Remember how happy we all were on 17 March 2013? And he was one of the guys who made us happy. Some of you guys should be ashamed of yourselves.

Of every player had jims heart we would be much higher up table. He is a leader and despite his flaws I'm v glad he is one of us

He will make a great coach then move on to management of that I have no doubt.

What we need to do is win a few games and all of this negativity will lessen...

Fortunately, he's recognised that and Jim is now rightly is a mainstay of the team.

I think he has probably got this right but he was wrong about Jim Goodwin. He clearly does have strong opinions and as you say thats what he is paid for.

Murray is the manager making the decision which I'm sure he thinks is right for the club that's what he is employed to do. Don't have any problem with that. -
turrabuddie reacted to cambiebud in Next St Mirren Manager
Gary Teale was in a terrible, no win situation, caused by the shocking delay in making a decision on Tommy Craig. As for Ian Murray, he has to be given time. If there is no great improvement by mid November, then a decision will have to be made. For a long period in the 2nd half against Raith we looked pretty good. A good win against Alloa and hopefully that will spark an upsurge in confidence and results

If fan power hounds Murray out the door, then that will be the 4th manager within a year and a half we've hounded out the door.
How are we ever going to get and keep a decent manager doing this?
We should get used to the fact that for this season we are not potential promotion candidates and are far
from it, lets give the manager a chance and try and build for next season, we have a team full of youngsters
and these things take time.

turrabuddie reacted to Drew in Speculation Thread
McFadden (sp?) is most certainly not the type of player we need. The last thing required is a luxury type player who might turn it on for half an hour in one game in three. We need an anchor/playmaker. Someone who can put his foot on the ball, pick a pass, and isn't easily brushed off the ball. Oh, and can occasionally put an opponent in the air (ina sleekit stylee, of course).

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This.
My " Virtual " season ticket means that work commitments aside, I won't miss a home league match this season.

Good call.
I genuinely don't feel that we're that far away. A morale boosting win should hopefully send us on our way. Pencil that in for Saturday, please!

Positive?
Easy: Man for man we are certainly in better shape than last season and I don't think that the squad is the major issue here. Nor do I think it's Ian Murray. What I do think is that he needs to re-evaluate his outlook and mindset going into games and to play a different style of football. A good manager evolves with time and I reckon given that time, he will adapt to St. Mirren and have us playing a harder, more pressing style as we're clearly not suited to the backs-to-the-wall stuff.
I genuinely don't think we need another complete overhaul, as there is talent there in that young side. We do need several tactical adjustments though but it's nothing close to being unfixable.

Jamie Langfield looking, so far, as good a keeper as we have seen and certainly will be one of the best in the league
Jack Baird looking like he could develop into a good centre half given time
Agnews goals from midfield, his performances have been ok but 3 goals from centre mid so far is somethign we have missed for quite a while
Lewis Morgan has impressed in spells and could become a good player at this level
Despite a lot of other folks belief i genuinelly think Ian Murray and Mark Spalding will get it right.

turrabuddie reacted to Soctty in Murray's Meltdown!
I remember, not so long ago, Celtic beat us 7-0 in the league. A week later we beat them 1-0 in the Scottish Cup. 2009 I think.
That's just one example, close to home. I'm sure there have been many more over the years.
Regardless of any of that, we must beat Livingston on Saturday to kick start our season & I'm certain we will.

turrabuddie reacted to St Michael in Murray's Meltdown!
I thought we played well enough in the games so far, we've had our share of good and bad luck. I believe at this moment in time we should be fully behind the new manager as he builds his squad and system and the new players to help them settle in. The time to start recriminations is circa mid to late October, till then 100% backing is the only thing we as fans can do to help the team performances

When you've become so obsessed with something that you lose your objectivity you also wave goodbye to any credibility you might have had.
You may very well be proven right about Murray, only time will tell, but to see another thread started or high jacked every day is just becoming tedious.
We get it. You don't like the appointment. You know he's not going to be sacked so if you can't get behind him then how about giving us all peace?

turrabuddie reacted to Sweeper07 in Murray's Meltdown!
Murray is now getting in players who will improve the squad - I personally think some things contrived against Murray like:-
1. Players who could not be released earlier (Shanks) or
2. Others who were looking for better offers (Webso) or
3. The budget (So Watson only came in when Naismith was injured)
4. Internal politics (Goodwin)
Any who - though we are still not a full squad in my opinion, at least there is a better blend of experience and youth and now we will see what Murray makes of His squad.
I hope he does a most excellent job - I just wish we had been much better organised for the season - we need to begin before day 1 of the season - the core team needs to be in place having trained and playing together during the pre-season - then any new signings should bring in better players and they can be slotted in appropriately.
Murray - start planning for your next signings and get them lined up ASAP (An the ones for next year too!!)
Good luck to the team tomorrow - 3 v 1 to the Saints will bring in a nice 3 points to build upon

turrabuddie reacted to The Real Zippy in Andy Webster
Think I will be joining the 'eat huge dollop of humble pie' society this evening. That was around two weeks we had the offer on the table and the longer it dragged on then the less likely I felt Webster would be coming. Happy to be proved horribly wrong. Probably a case of Andy having to think very carefully as this is potentially his last big move and needed to get it right.
He will bring much needed leadership and experience and I am certain Baird and Kelly will revel in playing alongside him. Part of my is now thinking that Murray may go with a back three with two wing backs. Time will tell.
Welcome to the greatest fitba team in the world, Andy. Really looking forward to tomorrow now and getting stuck into the Lavvytic cheats.

Conlan and Howieson clearly don't compliment each other when they're both on the left as neither are very strong defensively and to that end I wouldn't play them together. They are both still learning their trade though, Luke especially.Similarly, Cuddihy on the opposite side is still at the stage where he clearly isn't as ready for first team football as we'd perhaps like him to be, but will certainly improve and looks like a decent prospect. Young Jordan though, looked at both Annan and against Livi like he's further on in terms of development than anyone.
