Tactically spot on from Goodwin (if a little deep late on).
Football played on the deck, forward at pace - as it should be. Solid no nonsense defending to accompany.
Foley and Famewo were immense at the back. Wallace - class oozing out him in the middle again.
No failures whatsoever in the team, but I think biggest credit goes to Obika, Waters and McGrath - all 3 have had absolute pelters at times - but all 3 really battled well tonight. We be positive and win our individual battles, we win games.

Could be plenty of goals, BTTS at 10/11 looks a cert.
As for 4-4, I'm not touching that, the bookies are offering big odds because it's unlikely.
If you need any tips on bookies odds, see @oaksoft, he's got it sussed.

Why mention the Old Firm it's Livi we are talking about.
Remember Livi have beaten Sellic this season
Livi get better value for their money that'sfor all to see

Indeed. Jack Copland started out with St Mirren as a striker and came back to Love Street as a centre half.
Frank McAvennie was originally a midfielder
Ashley Young was a winger, now he’s a full back. Gareth Bale was a left back, now he’s a forward.

    There’s countless examples out there.
Ryan Flynn had established himself as first choice right back and was keeping McGinn on the bench. When McGinn left we brought in Hodson.
That gave us 2 players for right back.
Was JG supposed to foresee that they’d both get injured immediately after the transfer window?
Was he supposed to deny McGinn the opportunity of being first choice at Hibs and keep him as 3rd choice?
    Some fans are clueless

Providing we are still in the Premiership next season,  I wouldn't be too disappointed if all the players you mentioned were to leave. Possibly the only one I'd keep would be P McGinn,  and he looks likely to be off this week.
They have all been good servants to the club, but there always comes that time when it's time to move on.

The bit about a "considerable offer" doesn't stack up. Bit like McLean, McGinn, Mallan, McAllister etc.... arguably they all showed more potential than Kyle, but we didn't pass £300k on any of their initial fees, and it would appear there is no sell clause coming for any of them.

Is he not from Gourock originally?  So hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding  and (admittedly very cold) humidity will feel like home from home too.   Can see the logic of this move.

For me - I would want us to get a home tie and dodge Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen and Motherwell - with hopefully the four of them matched up over two other ties.

The thread isnt about Saturday's match as I read it but about the style of play for the season ahead or so I thought. Turning to our upcoming cup game, i'd still advise a thoroughly professional approach.

    That’s pretty desperate.
of course we are always planning ahead, it’s the nature of where clubs our size are. For example, we have three centre backs at the club at present; one is 35, the other 34 and the third on loan until Jan. I’d fully expect the club to be working up a list of options for Jan or the summer, scouting them, etc.

In fairness Goody had the summer to get some players in and ideas going. Kearney had Stubbs’ pish.

I think so too. I am not overly worried, but it is this game of juggling budget, getting some players out to help that, and trying to get some better players to come in, haggling with their representatives, contracts and the signing. Then its how they fit in and how fit and useful they are to us...
It is the same sort of demands for every team, but some get better results than others. We obviously want to do better than our rivals etc.
Considering the mess we began the season in - we are not in a terrible shape right now - 2, 3 or 4 better fit players to improve and strengthen our squad, and we will retain our place for next season in the top league. Then its another summer of change (not wholesale, but some) and I am hopeful we will be above the relegation worries at the end of 2021. (Three seasons in a row in the top tear and progress in each - that would be a big well done to all who might help achieve this)
It will also be better for supporters, seeing a better product, winning more often, fearing the worst less often etc too.

I only saw the second half but I thought SJ were the worst team we've played this season.  If we could have played a little more football we could have won it easy.  Too much punting the ball up the park.

There always someone looking for a negative angle on things.
i genuinely made a bit of a fun post on Monday challenging the team with the hope of raising a few quid for the FoodBank.
Ive done this before with goals meaning donations to the NorthBank.
The donation was made on behalf of the website, not me personally. The site raises a wee bit every month through advertising and this is me giving back.
I didn’t ask anyone else to join in, but it completely blew up and before we knew it 500 had joined in and pledged.
After getting spanked on Weds night with the wind taken out our sails a wee bit I opted to just go ahead and open the donations page early.
A few days on and £2K already guaranteed in donations.
Im proud of that, and desperately hope we get thousands more.
I’ve spoken to Ian today as I’ve been very surprised by some of the stuff that’s been written about this.
He’s someone I know well and I’ve always found him to be a really nice bloke so I’m not entirely sure where this has all come from tbh!
Hopefully I’ve clarified things with him and put his mind at ease. This was never supposed to be anything but a positive but you know, negativity is never far away.

I wasn’t on here at the time but I’d have been the same as many, thinking Murray was an excellent appointment and just what we needed at the time. Unfortunately it didn’t work out, but I do think he still has a chance of making himself a decent managerial career. It’s at a vital point now but if he gets the next couple of years right, he could be okay.

Will Goody be gone by January?
The club is being very poorly run. Recruiting Stubbs and sanctioning his abysmal signings massive payoffs, sacking Oran who is now a table topper, paying to bring back a permanently injured McAllister who looks in trouble, making a hash of panic signings to field a team at Easter Rd kicking families and kids out of their seats to accommodate Racist, sectarian thugs....
The list goes on. As long as we have this board, we will have these avoidable stupid decisions.

As has been posted elsewhere sub standard recruitment in the summer has left us struggling.
Goodwin is a good manager and I trust he will get the best out of what we have.
I hope to see Broadfoot, McGinn and Mullen start next week as a stronger spine of the team. A few players in the current line up are not up to the task.
