Should be mixed up till around age 11 but SMFC youth teams seem to have a win at all costs attitude to the kids football.

It was great to see McGowan playing in (what I think) is his best position.

We havent won a game in six outings this season ,so we should give anything a try , especially if it enabled us to get our best eleven players on the park

Our season so far Danny has moved certain players all over the place to accommodate Harkins.
We've really suffered from this and now it's quite clear that we can't move Gowser to accommodate anyone.
If Harkins is on the park he needs to be played in a position that doesn't involve moving McGowan.
McGowan is our first line of defence, he chases down everything and his work rate is excellent. He had great ability to link up midfield and attack and must play just off Thommo.
If you want to save your ass Danny with the new owners, play Gowser just off Thommo and Harkins will need to warm the bench and sulk some more.

Harkins should start? Why? What on earth has he done since he came here to earn a start?
There's a reason he was hooked in the Motherwell and Hibs game before being dropped completely in the Aberdeen game. That reason is he's been playing terribly. He's the last player that should be starting on Saturday. The last thing we need is lazy primadona's like him in a game like this.

McLeish yes, Levein no. McLeish still has stock in England and Levein doesn't. The only way Levein is going to get back into management is taking a lower SPL job, like ours. He'll know that. Aberdeen, Dundee Utd or Hearts could have had him recently, none chose to. He is in no position to ask for big money and he won't exactly be needing the cash after the Scotland pay off.
He's a more than realistic expectation. Also, with Murray and Hartley and Cameron there will be a compensation payment required, there wouldn't be with Levein, thus offsetting much if not all of his higher wage demands.

Was going to close this down as it's repetitive but it looks like the thread will not turn out as the OP intended.
Let's show our support for Marc, he's been one of our better players and always gives nothing short if 100%. He's on the team sheet on merit and as long as his old man is on the board he'll be an easy target for some.
If I were him I'd be looking for a move as it's not always a fairytale playing for your home town team even if it was your boyhood dream.
