I've done neither. I have not revealed my thoughts on the matter at all.

All I've done is laugh at the middle class socialists fighting for her social justice. lol.gif:

Sussed I was making it up?

Yet again you highlight your lack of knowledge about the issues you are voting for...

Every single thing I have posted here about my mother in law is totally 100% true. You just want to bury your head in the sand because knowing that its true blows apart all your poltical beliefs!

lol.gif:

Your right I'm voting No now...........................and putting you on the ignore list along with your alias Dicko !!!!!!!!!

I've actually wondered about this. If they know that 1% of approved claims are fraudulent then the must be able to stop them and so 0% should be fraudulent.

deary me

The point Slartibartfast raised about assessing income from tourists always puzzles me too. I read a thing a few years back which was London centred and it was fairly convincing that it's figures were accurate to within a couple of percentage points.. Obvious things like hotel and airline bookings are taken into account but spending in shops, pubs, boat-trips and all sort are assessed too. Can't remember all of it. How they differentiate between someone coming to see the Trooping of the Colours with others who are coincidentally coming at the same time escapes me. Royal souvenirs are big business and the reason why escapes me. Those figures are easily obtained from the manufacturers. Even the low estimate figure for income emanating from royal activity would still be impressive if it was a quarter of what gets quoted. The point about comparing london and Paris is fair. I've been to Versailles. What Paris enjoys that the UK doesn't is a population in continental Europe of about 650m. people who can jump in their car and get there without ferries, planes or the Chunnel. Old palaces and castles where royals lived will always pull in visitors. It seems to be accepted that those with living royalty seem to attract more. I suspect that's probably true. I have no doubt that royalty in the UK brings in a huge income after expenses. There's no debate about that. The phrases 'hangers on' and 'freeloaders' can fairly be applied to some of the present incumbents but not all. I wouldn't want their jobs.

Bluto is a travel guru of sorts. He and I were talking about Royal Deeside a week or two back and I wonder if up there in a much smaller market if they can estimate the value of having the queen live among them for the month of August. Maybe Bluto knows. Don't think he's too keen on the royals, mind you.

As some may have noticed I have pulled away from this tedious thread in recent weeks as, I have learned nothing new other than "my da's bigger than your da'" type stuff!

This however, is well worth a watch - well done Sky

If you can explain to me what you think is wrong with my logic in that post then it will you prove that you don't understand percentages (among other things) and you are, therefore, Dorothy.

You still haven't explained you wrangler comments which I'll therefore assume only make sense to you, StuPhiDor.

no amount of backtracking or whataboutery will dig you out wrangler boy

thick as f**k

I see French business Technip paid off 190 workers and closed it's operations in Scotland today citing fears that an independent Scotland will not be able to access finance for renewable energy. The company specialises in offshore wind technology.

So they couldn't wait a couple of weeks and find out the result? The No campaign is ahead in every poll and the result is due in 2 weeks but they blame a fear of a yes vote? Perhaps they'll start operations in a couple of weeks if there's a no vote? Good yin, didn't think you were so gullible

Gullible? Not me Kendo. The arse has fallen out of the Scottish Renewables market and the private sector is turning it's back on Scotland. The really gullible ones are those Nationalists who believed the silly fairytale that Scotland would be rich exporting all our renewable generated electricity to London. The South East of England will get all the power it wants and needs from France through the Channel Tunnel link. It's bonkers to think energy generated in the Western Isles or Aberdeen would be exported 600 miles to England, especially when electricity doesn't work like that.

Indeed - sounds like an excuse to pay off staff.

Quote from the article :

“Successive Scottish governments and parliaments have used devolved powers under the Renewables Obligation to advance renewable generation.

“Some of those powers were removed several months ago in a House of Lords amendment to the new Energy Act.

Is the House of Lords part of an Independent Scotland?

Quoting Fergus Ewing....never a good idea.

However what he says doesn't disprove the point. Without Westminster funding the renewable energy sector in Scotland is f**ked. The Scottish Government does not have the funds to keep the private sector companies in the industry here.
